Secret Baby (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 10
Seo Ha turned her head in surprise at Tae Kyung’s voice.
Tae Kyung glared at them with an expression of deep displeasure.
“Don’t you care about what other people think anymore?”
“What’s it to you?”
Seo Ha retorted coldly, her words sharp as a honed blade. Min Seob let out a hollow laugh.
“I don’t care. But I feel sorry for the kid.”
Tae Kyung stomped over to Seo Ha, holding a paper bag.
Seo Ha clenched her hands so tightly her fingertips turned white with tension.
“Give this to the kid.”
Tae Kyung held out the paper bag he’d been carrying. Seo Ha replied indifferently, her face icy.
“Why are you giving me this?”
“Don’t be so proud. Just take it. Or throw it away. Apparently, the other kids mocked him in class the other day, saying he couldn’t do this because his dad wasn’t there.”
Seo Ha’s hands trembled. She’d tried so hard to shield the child from feeling his father’s absence.
But she still couldn’t accept anything from Tae Kyung.
Tae Kyung let out a bitter sneer, placed the paper bag at Seo Ha’s feet, and turned away.
Seo Ha gathered every ounce of strength she had and shouted.
“I told you not to pity me! Do my words sound so ridiculous to you?”
Tae Kyung halted mid-step. Without turning back, he said,
“If I really thought you were ridiculous, I wouldn’t have gone through all this trouble to find you or waited around like this.”
He resumed walking, got into his car, and vanished.
Seo Ha couldn’t bring herself to look Min Seob in the face.
“Min Jun, climb onto my back. And please go home carefully.”
Seo Ha turned her back on Min Seob. Min Seob sighed and lifted Min Jun onto Seo Ha’s back.
Seo Ha hoisted Min Jun up once and walked straight into her house.
Min Seob stood silently, staring at the paper bag left alone on the street.
He didn’t want to give it back to Seo Ha, yet he also couldn’t just leave it there. Min Seob scowled deeply and got into his car with the bag.
Meanwhile, Seo Ha entered her dimly lit house and gently laid Min Jun down in his room.
The sleeping child, blissfully unaware of the world, was the very picture of an angel.
‘He couldn’t do this because his dad wasn’t there,’
Tae Kyung’s words kept echoing in her mind.
Was she needlessly hurting her child just to protect her own pride?
No—it didn’t matter anyway. A father who could never actually be a father—what good would it do for the child to know?
Seo Ha stroked Min Jun’s hair and buried her tearful face in her knees.
It was a night when sleep would not come easily.
Several days later.
Tae Kyung’s face twisted fiercely when he saw the paper bag he’d given Seo Ha returned to him through Min Seob.
“If Seo Ha doesn’t want it, forcing it on her is a kind of violence. Take it back yourself.”
“On what grounds, Kwak Min Seob, do you return this to me?”
“I’m merely returning abandoned property to its owner. After all, Seo Ha left this bag right there on the street.”
Min Seob didn’t yield an inch to Tae Kyung. If anything, his expressionless tone seemed mocking.
Tae Kyung snatched the paper bag away. Though fury boiled inside him, showing it would only mean admitting defeat to Min Seob.
Holding the paper bag, Tae Kyung waited outside Min Jun’s classroom. Teacher Pul-ip Ban cautiously opened the classroom door and stepped out.
“Um, what’s going on?”
“Please give this to Min Jun.”
Tae Kyung thrust the paper bag forward abruptly and turned to leave.
If Seo Ha refused to accept it, he’d have to give it directly to the person concerned.
This wasn’t for Seo Ha—it was for a poor child growing up without a father, just like himself.
Tae Kyung muttered this justification to himself.
The kid annoyed him, yet he couldn’t stop worrying about him.
He’d run into Seo Ha as he left the kindergarten but walked past without even greeting her. He regretted it the moment he stepped outside.

Seo Ha’s phone rang loudly. The screen displayed the name of her longtime friend, Hyo Jae.
“Hyo Jae! How have you been?”
—Seo Ha, you rascal! Not a single call—you always make your older sister call first, don’t you?
“I’m sorry. Things at the kindergarten have been insanely busy lately.”
Seo Ha replied with a face full of apology, as if Hyo Jae were standing right in front of her.
—Song Joo’s getting married. Will you come?
“No. I didn’t even get a personal invite—why would I go out of my way?”
—Hmm. Everyone’s getting married, it seems.
Hearing Hyo Jae sigh with melancholy, Seo Ha asked curiously.
Hyo Jae had been in a relationship with a man for three years. Moreover, he was significantly older—mid-thirties.
“Has Lee Jun mentioned marriage?”
—We’d get married if we had the money, but we don’t. Oh, by the way—how’s my Min Jun doing? I miss that little guy.
“He’s doing well. Though lately, being a boy and all, he’s been a bit rebellious.”
—Oh, you rascal! But, um… Seo Ha.
Hyo Jae called her name hesitantly.
Why was she being so reluctant? Seo Ha suddenly didn’t want to hear it—but she couldn’t tell her not to speak either. Suppressing her unease, she replied in a casual tone.
“Hmm?”
—Hey… are you really not going to tell Senior Tae Kyung about Min Jun?
“Our Min Jun is my son. He has nothing to do with that man. What good would come from telling someone who’s already married? It would only hurt the child.”
Seo Ha spoke firmly, as always. Hyo Jae had urged her several times before to tell Tae Kyung, and each time Seo Ha had refused.
Moreover, the image of Tae Kyung’s gentle face as he held a little girl flashed before her eyes. Her heart ached sharply.
Unaware of Seo Ha’s turmoil, Hyo Jae continued speaking about Tae Kyung.
—You know what? Senior Tae Kyung isn’t married yet.
“What?”
Seo Ha couldn’t believe her ears. Then what had she actually seen?
Noticing Seo Ha’s reaction, Hyo Jae added in a hushed, hesitant voice.
—I debated a lot about whether or not to tell you, but I figured it’s better you hear it from me than from someone else.
“Oh…”
—Are you really okay not telling Senior Tae Kyung about Min Jun?
Faced with Hyo Jae’s cautious tone, Seo Ha became even more resolute. But today, Hyo Jae was unusually persistent.
“He’s getting married soon—to Senior Yoo Na.”
—What if Tae Kyung found out about Min Jun even now? Would he call off the engagement and come back to you? If the child has a perfectly capable father, why sever that bond? For Min Jun’s sake, wouldn’t it be better to tell him now?
Hyo Jae’s words made sense.
Min Jun and Tae Kyung were father and son—could she truly sever that bond just by hiding it?
She feared Min Jun would resent her if he ever found out the truth.
But she steeled her resolve again. This was the very child Hyun Young had wanted so desperately to get rid of. If Hyun Young found out, could she protect him?
It was better to keep it hidden.
“Whether he marries or not, it’s already over between us.”
—Right. If your heart’s moved on, you can’t force a reunion just because of the child.
Seo Ha couldn’t control the fluttering in her chest.
A faint hope began to bloom—yet the moment she remembered what happened five years ago, fear prickled across her whole body.
[This is the timeline separator]Seung Ae, Min Jun’s biological mother, learned of Seo Ha’s pregnancy the very day Seo Ha returned from the obstetrician after confirming her pregnancy. Stunned and bewildered by the unexpected news, Seo Ha was met by Seung Ae upon her return.
That day, too, Seung Ae had come only to demand money.
Ever since Seo Ha started college, Seung Ae had treated her like an ATM, showing up regularly to extract cash.
“You’ve been working lots of part-time jobs, right? And you’re about to start a real job soon—so you should give your mom some allowance. Do you even know how hard I worked giving birth to you!”
“I don’t have money to give you. You already took 300,000 won last time. My lease is ending soon—I’ll have to move out. With rent so high, my current deposit won’t even cover a goshiwon room.”
“You only need one body to survive! I’ve got a whole family to feed—I need money!”
“That family isn’t mine!”

Seo Ha cried out in despair.
She was sick and tired of Seung Ae reappearing whenever she almost forgot about her, always demanding money. But if she refused, Seung Ae would just go bother her father, Myeong Hoon, again.
She thought it better to just hand over whatever small savings she had.
“Ugh, you ungrateful brat! Is that how you talk to your mother? Give me that bag!”
Seung Ae grabbed aggressively at Seo Ha’s bag. Seo Ha struggled desperately to hold on, but she couldn’t match her mother’s hefty strength.
When Seung Ae yanked the bag hard, it flipped over, spilling its contents onto the floor.
Among the scattered items, Seung Ae spotted the maternity booklet and her eyes widened in shock.
Panicked, Seo Ha reached out—but Seung Ae was quicker.
“Look at you, you sly little thing! Are you pregnant? Whose child is it? Don’t tell me it’s his—the rich guy’s?”
“Gimme that! It’s not mine!”
Seo Ha clung desperately to Seung Ae. Seung Ae snorted dismissively and shoved her away.
“Don’t lie! Your name’s written right here. They say a quiet cat climbs on the stove first—but you, pretending to be so refined and proper, ended up using your body after all? Well, smart move—marrying a rich man to secure your future.”
“Mom!”
Despite Seo Ha’s cry, Seung Ae rummaged through her wallet.
“Don’t play innocent with me, girl. I’m taking this. It’ll come in very handy. And you—carry more cash! How can you have only a single 10,000-won bill in your wallet? So pitiful.”
Seung Ae tossed Seo Ha’s wallet and bag onto the floor, stuffed the ultrasound photo and the 10,000-won bill from the booklet into her own bag, and waddled off, her ample hips swaying.
Seo Ha collapsed right where she stood. As she slowly gathered her things and her bag, she choked back sobs.
But tears were already streaming down her face.
Overwhelmed with sorrow, she crouched on the spot and cried quietly for a long while.
A few days later, Seung Ae came looking for Seo Ha again.
“Why are you back? Come for more money?”
Seo Ha instinctively shrank back as she spoke.
“Stop complaining—get dressed and come out.”
“Where are we going?”
“I’ve got somewhere to go. Less talk, more walking.”
“No!”
Seo Ha stepped backward, trying to avoid her mother.
Seung Ae dragged Seo Ha forcefully to the obstetrics clinic.
In the hospital lobby, their struggle—Seung Ae trying to pull Seo Ha into an exam room, Seo Ha resisting—drew everyone’s attention.
Amid the murmuring crowd, Seo Ha cared more about protecting her child than her own shame.
“You! What are you going to do with the baby in your womb? Huh?”
“I’ll raise him. I’ll raise him—let go of me!”
“Raise him? Are you insane? How do you plan to raise a child? The Chairwoman already said she won’t accept the baby!”
“Then how can I possibly give up my baby? I just can’t!”
Seung Ae’s grip was too strong for Seo Ha to resist. Seo Ha tensed her whole body and wrapped her arms protectively around her belly. The struggle made her stomach tighten painfully.
The cramp filled her with dread—what if something happened to the baby?
Fortunately, a nurse witnessing the commotion called security.
“But I’m her mother!”
“You can’t cause a scene here. Please leave immediately.”
Two burly security guards arrived, grabbed Seung Ae by both arms, and dragged her away.
The nurse helped Seo Ha, who had doubled over clutching her stomach.
“Are you okay?”
“My stomach hurts…”
“Let’s get you examined right away. Teacher Kim, is Director 7 free now? Send her right in.”
Seo Ha’s face was pale, sweat beading on her forehead. Inside the exam room, the doctor looked at her with concern.
“Mom, let’s check if our baby is doing well. Take a deep breath—it’s okay, calm down.”
“Yes… the baby—how’s the baby?”
“Our baby is strong and healthy. Your uterus contracted a bit from the intense stress, but the baby is fine. Shall we listen to the heartbeat?”
At the doctor’s words, Seo Ha regained her composure.
Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump.

A sweet yet powerful heartbeat echoed through the room.
Only then did Seo Ha’s expression begin to soften.
How could she ever abandon this child?
She’d just heard that tiny, vigorous heartbeat so clearly.
“There—you hear that? Such a strong heartbeat. You don’t need to worry about the baby. He’s healthy.”
Tears streamed freely down Seo Ha’s face.
The doctor calmed her and showed her the baby again on the ultrasound.
The baby had grown slightly more—the sight of that vigorous little heart pounding filled her chest with emotion.
It was as if the baby were crying out, “I’m here—please know me!”
“Mommy… Mommy will protect you, no matter what…”
Seo Ha gripped the fabric of her clothes tightly.
Ex-husband Wants Reconciliation
One-line summary: Chasing the wife to the crematorium (making an effort to attract someone who has become indifferent), the female lead doesn’t look back, the second male lead takes the position.

Intro:
To repay the kindness of the older generation, Su Mu crossed into a female-dominated world and became a live-in daughter-in-law of the Yan family, single-handedly saving the Yan family from fire and water.
But her husband, Yan Jiyue, the eldest son of the Yan family, treated her with sarcasm and never showed her a good face.
It wasn’t until after Su Mu’s death that this pampered and arrogant young master shed a few fake tears and pretended to want to die for love.
This life’s kindness was enough. If there was a next life, she would definitely kick Yan Jiyue away.
Who knew that the heavens would be so kind as to allow her to be reborn, returning to the time when she had just married into the Yan family.
Su Mu glanced at the Yan eldest son, who still spoke coldly to her, and threw a divorce letter in front of him.
“Let’s divorce!”
***
Yan Jiyue never imagined that he would be reborn. He happily went to find Su Mu, wanting to make up for the mistakes he had made in his ignorant youth.
Wasn’t the reason the heavens allowed him to be reborn to let him reconcile with Su Mu?
But when he pushed open the door to Su Mu’s room, the person lying on the bed was another man.
Su Mu’s personal attendant, Xie Yi.
Yan Jiyue hated him so much that his teeth itched. In front of Su Mu, Xie Yi was a gentle and considerate whisperer of sweet nothings, but in reality, he was vicious-hearted and deliberately sabotaged their husband and wife relationship.
In the previous life, it was he who secretly hid in Su Mu’s coffin and committed suicide, stealing a step ahead of him to be buried with Su Mu.
Yan Jiyue’s eyes were filled with hatred as he cursed, “What kind of thing are you? Your background is lowly, what right do you have to occupy Su Mu?”
Xie Yi looked at the sleeping Su Mu and no longer pretended to be a whisperer of sweet nothings.
He proudly stuck out his belly, “I have the right because my belly is capable of giving the Wife-master a daughter.”
***
Yan Jiyue was consumed with jealousy. He spread rumors that Xie Yi had once been branded with the mark of a “harlot” on his chest.
But on the night Xie Yi cut off the flesh bearing that mark, Su Mu suddenly realized something was amiss.
“How did you know the exact moment I was poisoned? And why did you show up a month early?”
Xie Yi remained silent, blood from his wound soaking through his robes. His sapphire eyes brimmed with anguish – or was it just a flawless act?
Between a once-arrogant husband now seeking redemption, and a gentle soul willing to die for her – who truly held the darkest secrets? And could it be that Su Mu and Yan Jiyue weren’t the only ones given a second chance at life…?
