Taekyung, sensing the subdued atmosphere, attempted to change the subject.
“So, Mother, please allow our marriage.”
Hyunyoung glanced at Taekyung, then shifted her gaze back to Seoha.
“What do you think, Seoha?”
Unexpectedly asked by Hyunyoung, Seoha slightly bit her lower lip.
Regardless of Seoha’s thoughts, Hyunyoung planned to decide on the marriage permission independently.
I didn’t expect her to ask for my opinion.
Though sudden, Seoha spoke calmly, considering the situation she had already decided in her heart.
“I want to marry Taekyung Oppa. However, not right away.”
“Right. Because of Minjoon?”

“Yes…”
“I’m sorry for entrusting you to that rascal.”
Hyunyoung nodded understandingly, as if conveying her understanding to Seoha.
On the other hand, Taekyung raised an eyebrow slightly at Hyunyoung’s words.
“A rascal? Still, he’s your son, Mother.”
Hyunyoung continued her story without paying attention to Taekyung’s words.
“He’s so spineless. He only thinks about his feelings and can’t understand from the child’s perspective. He’s stubborn and does things his own way.”
“Mother!”
Taekyung was annoyed by Hyunyoung’s implied criticism.
He wanted to show a reliable image in front of Seoha, but Hyunyoung kept treating him like an immature child.

While complaining, he raised an eyebrow.
Hyunyoung, looking at Taekyung, said to Seoha with a smile.
“Our Minjoon should resemble calm and thoughtful you rather than that stubborn and self-centered guy. He’s got no backbone.”
Seoha was touched by Hyunyoung’s kindness.
Her mother, Seungae, had never said anything positive to her. Although resentment toward Hyunyoung still lingered, Seoha found Hyunyoung’s act of bowing her head first to seek forgiveness impressive.
“Thank you for understanding, Chairman.”
“Seoha, thank you. Minjoon, you raised him splendidly. Thank you. And I’m truly sorry.”
When Hyunyoung praised Minjoon, Seoha felt as if all the hardships she had endured were being comforted.
Hyunyoung, who was smiling kindly, looked at Taekyung sternly and said.
“Taekyung! Don’t rush it. When Minjoon approves, then bring up the topic. Announce the marriage then. It might be difficult if the child learns about it from someone else’s mouth first.”

“I understand. Mother.”
“Seoha, what do you think?”
“I will follow Chairman’s words.”
Seoha was thankful for Hyunyoung, who kept thinking of Minjoon until the end.
To Seoha, Minjoon was like her life, and above all, a top priority. Therefore, her reserved feelings towards Hyunyoung, who acknowledged him, were gradually loosening.
“And if, by any chance, there’s a harsh article about you and Minjoon, I’ll handle it at the HY Group level to stop them all. When others murmur, confidently say that you got married before they could gossip. They seem like bad people. I won’t tolerate anyone speaking ill of Minjoon.”
“Yes, Chairman.”
Hyunyoung was turning into an affectionate grandmother, utterly devoted to her grandson.
Seoha, sensing Hyunyoung’s concern for Minjoon, couldn’t hold back her tears once again.
Hyunyoung’s intention to become a reliable support was palpable. However, thinking it wasn’t enough, Hyunyoung apologized to Seoha repeatedly.
“Seoha, I’m truly sorry. I’ll repay this feeling for a lifetime.”

“Chairman, thank you.”
In response to Seoha’s gratitude, Hyunyoung hesitated before making a careful request.
“By the way, if it’s okay, could you call me ‘Mother’ instead of ‘Chairman’?”
“Mother?”
“Yes. ‘Mom’ is also fine. I’m not telling you to be a daughter-in-law with the title of Chairman. I want to hear the family name ‘Mother’ instead of the title ‘Chairman.’ Now that we’re becoming a family.”
“Yes… Mother.”
“Thank you. Thanks.”
Hyunyoung burst into a hearty laugh at Seoha calling her “Mother.”
Why didn’t I accept this child sooner?
If I had accepted her earlier, we wouldn’t have hurt each other.

Feeling both sorry and regretful in this happy moment, she deliberately brought up a point.
“Well, then, we’ll submit our marriage registration first and hold the ceremony later. After Minjoon approves, we can also report it officially, whether he’s the biological father or not.”
“What do you think, Seoha? By the way, Seoha, did this guy propose properly?”
“Ah… the proposal…”
With Seoha’s lukewarm response, Hyunyoung shot a glance at Taekyung.
“You rascal. If you don’t even know the order of things, how can you run a business?”
“Well, I have to get permission first. I have my own order of things.”
“Just living with your mouth. Let’s eat while you’re here.”
“Yes.”
Hyunyoung nodded and showed a gentle smile.

However, Hyunyoung, despite her intentions, threw a word at Taekyung.
“Taekyung, you haven’t forgotten our deal, have you?”
“Deal? What deal?”
“Last time, we agreed that if you block the article, I’ll do one thing you want, didn’t we?”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
