My tone must have seemed impolite, because Ileina gave me a meaningful look—clearly hinting that I should properly greet him with due respect befitting the Crown Prince. Then, as if urging me to follow her lead, she delicately grasped both ends of her skirt with her fingertips and gave a slight bow at the waist and knees.

There must be a specific way to greet the Crown Prince. Normally, I wouldn’t show such exaggerated formality to Ian, but with Ileina right beside me, I had no choice but to mimic her and greet Ian accordingly.

I subtly covered my face with my hand so Ileina wouldn’t notice and mouthed silently to Ian, telling him not to laugh. Yet his laughter only grew louder….
