Saved Him, Now I'm Obsessed (10 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 2
The space, converted from a windowless warehouse, had only one exit: the door leading into the apothecary. In haste, I pulled a bedsheet over my mouth and nose and grabbed the doorknob to get outside.
“Ah! It’s hot!”
The scorched knob burned my palm. The searing heat pooled in my hand, causing unbearable pain.
Gritting my teeth against the pain transmitted through my skin, I opened the door. Struggling out of the bedroom, I was met with the apothecary engulfed in raging flames.
The wooden beams supporting the roof crackled loudly as they were consumed by fire. The roar of the flames, whipping up hot gusts of wind, struck terror into my heart.
I had to escape this place at all costs. Though it pained me to see my carefully prepared medicinal herbs burning, I couldn’t even be sure I’d survive.
Escaping was difficult with fiery debris raining down from all directions. I’d inhaled so much smoke that my mind grew foggy.
“I have to stay conscious….”
Just as I forced myself to take a step forward, a burning wooden beam collapsed, toppling the grandfather clock and shelves leaning against the wall all at once, burying me beneath them.
“Kuhh!”
The pendulum inside the clock swung, letting out a hollow, mournful clang.
I groaned and tried to move, but the weight of the wreckage pinned me down completely. Perhaps from inhaling toxic fumes, my vision blurred, and even my will to escape vanished. There was no way out.
All I could do was watch helplessly as my meticulously tended herbs turned to ash in the dragon’s maw of fire.
Dong… Dong…
Defiant even before the flames, the grandfather clock crushing me rang out twelve solemn chimes, as if fulfilling its final duty.
‘It was the clock adorned with a golden dragon…’
The grandfather clock awarded to my great-grandfather by the Imperial Family for his great service was decorated with a golden dragon symbolizing the Emperor.
‘What an utterly absurd turn of events…’
〈Jane was pinned under a huge dragon. She looked at me with remarkable calmness and spoke.〉
This must have been the ominous dream Ian described when I visited the palace. Even as my consciousness faded, a laugh escaped me—what an ridiculous way to die…
Was my final line already scripted, just like in Ian’s dream?
“Your Highness the Crown Prince, I’m sorry, but it seems I won’t be able to prepare medicine for you anymore. As you can see, this ferocious dragon is the reason. So….”
It was a little disappointing that there was no audience to witness me deliver my final line.
‘Dong… Dong…’
As the distant clock tower in the square struck the hour, I let go of my last tether to life.
[This is the timeline separator]Come to think of it, was there a fire at the apothecary? I thought that would be the end of my life…
“Where am I?”
I was thoroughly startled to find I wasn’t in my small, shabby room. This place was unfamiliar.
“I thought I fell asleep in my bed as usual… Ugh, my head hurts.”
Sitting up, I ran my hand over the bedding. Unlike my own mattress stuffed with straw inside rough cotton, this one felt light, plush—clearly made of goose down and silk. This couldn’t be a dream.
“Who on earth brought me here… Mom! Oh my goodness!”
A massive man, built like a bear, sat with arms crossed, dozing in a chair beside the bed. It was astonishing I hadn’t noticed such an imposing presence right away.
“Who could he possibly be?”
He was a complete stranger. Though I prided myself on having met countless people through years of running the apothecary, I’d never seen anyone with such colossal stature.
“There’s no way I’d forget someone this unforgettable.”
I carefully retraced the events before I fell asleep, but couldn’t recall any reason I’d wake up in a place like this.
“Anyway, why am I even here?”
Was I kidnapped? But if so, the motive made no sense. What could anyone possibly gain by moving me here so quietly?
Just as I decided to wake the giant man and ask why he’d brought me here, the door opened, and a woman entered the room. She wore a pale blue dress embroidered with white thread and her curly golden hair was loosely tied back.
Though not overly ornate, the elegant dress clearly marked her as nobility. Her eyes met mine the moment she stepped inside.
Her expression instantly contorted, tears welling up in her large eyes. “Claire! You’re finally awake! I knew you would be!”
She rushed toward me, burying her face in my lap and bursting into tears. “I was so terrified you’d never open your eyes again. Thank you so much for coming back to your senses.”
Her sobs were so heart-wrenching that, though I didn’t understand the situation, I patted her shoulder to comfort her. Anyone watching would think a dead person had come back to life.
Why was she crying so much? Her near-wailing finally roused the man dozing by the head of the bed.
The bear-like man, locking eyes with me, gave a pitiful smile and said in a choked voice, “Did you come to meet me like this? But I still can’t let you go yet.” His words made no sense at all.
“Please stop looking like that and calm her down. She’ll collapse if she keeps crying like this.”
At my words, the man—who’d been staring blankly as if he’d seen a ghost—mumbled dazedly, “Is this real?” then burst into loud, uncharacteristic sobs.
Sobbing like a heartbroken child, his face twisted in grief, the bear-like man wrapped both me and the weeping woman in his long arms, wailing loudly.
Thanks to him, my hair was ruined with their tears and snot, and I nearly suffocated. Yet their sorrow was so profound I stayed still, letting them hold me.

Just when I thought I might actually suffocate to death, they finally let me go.
The grown man, his face swollen and red from crying, kept muttering, “Good heavens… Thank goodness… Really…” so I couldn’t possibly ask why I was here. I had to wait until they calmed down.
“Um…”
“Claire… Hic…”
“Claire… Hwaaang…”
Thinking their hiccups meant they’d stopped crying, I tried speaking—but both instantly burst into fresh torrents of tears.
Their bizarre mix of laughter and weeping left me bewildered. Since these strangers reacted so intensely, I couldn’t bring myself to ask anything and just rolled my eyes helplessly.
Would they even stop crying today? Embarrassed, I waited again, frozen in an awkward posture and expression.
After a very long time of crying, they finally quieted—not because the tears had ceased, but because they’d simply run dry.
“But where is this place? And why did you bring me here?”
“Claire?”
The man’s voice cracked like metal, almost like a scream.
“Good heavens! We need to call a healer!”
I had no idea what was strange about my question, yet both looked flustered and summoned a healer.
After examining me, the healer kept murmuring in awe, “It’s a miracle! All your wounds have healed completely. Such a miracle… Oh! Dear heavens…”
“Wounds?”
Blinking in confusion, I wondered what on earth had happened. Had I even been injured?
“But Claire’s behavior is odd,” the woman asked the healer anxiously.
“How so?”
Before she could explain, I calmly addressed their heightened emotions. “I don’t understand what’s going on, but could someone please explain calmly why I’m here? Actually, I should probably head home soon—I have a lot to do.”
The healer’s eyes widened in shock at my question, then asked me cautiously, “Lady McKane… Do you truly not remember anything that happened?”
McKane? Claire? The way they kept addressing me felt strange. I’d always been called Jane or the apothecary—never by those names. Of course, because Claire McKane wasn’t my name.
Wondering if they were referring to someone behind me, I turned around—but no one was there. I pointed at myself and asked, “Claire? McKane? Who are they? You’re not talking about me, right?”
“You really don’t remember at all?”
“Claire… You don’t even recognize me?”
“Surely you haven’t forgotten who you yourself are?”
Her eyes welled up again as she asked me. Though I’d done nothing wrong, her expression made me feel guilty. But I couldn’t pretend to know something I didn’t.
Awkwardly, I asked those who seemed to know me, “Have we met before?”
Since they clearly recognized me while I remembered nothing, I’d asked carefully to avoid offense—but their reaction was intense.
“Good heavens… She really forgot everything. Claire…”
Male lead is reincarnated to save his wife
I’ve also read this one twice already. The female lead is kinda soft and gets embarrassed easily—not really my type, but the plot is definitely worth reading. Hurry up and read it, y’all!

Intro
When Shen Yuan encountered Su Jin again in his previous life, she had already become the Prime Minister of the current dynasty. As for him, the former top young master of the capital, he had long since fallen into the abyss, becoming a singer on a pleasure boat.
After a song ended, he was redeemed and sent to the Su Residence.
Su Jin respected and cherished him, gave him a roof over his head, and bestowed him with warmth. Shen Yuan fell deeper and deeper, but before he could express his feelings, Su Jin passed away.
Shen Yuan died to follow her in death, but instead, he returned to when he was fifteen years old.
At that time, he was not yet engaged, and Su Jin was just a poor scholar.
Shen Yuan gritted his teeth, casting aside all his pride, and thought of ways to coax and entice her every day.
The colder and more indifferent Su Jin was towards him, the more proactive Shen Yuan became.
He was not afraid of being mocked by the world, only wanting to marry his Wife-master early, to hold her hand and never let go for a lifetime.
[Note: This story will not specifically point out the male lead’s reincarnation time point; it’s all in the details. Whenever you feel that the male lead is acting strangely, he has most likely been reincarnated.]
