After rummaging through a corner for a while, picking through this and that, he quickly placed the roots into a paper bag. Even though he packed them swiftly, it was obvious the roots weren’t in good condition.

‘Could it be… I’m being taken for a fool?’

Thinking about it, I was the perfect target to be taken advantage of right now.

After all, I was a young noble lady who looked wealthy and was seeking Playrina roots—an ingredient few people ever looked for. He probably planned to hastily sell off some old, spoiled stock he’d been storing for ages.

‘To think he’d see me as a sucker… How ridiculous.’

“It’s 78 bluedongs, but since such a pretty young lady came by, I’ll give you a discount—on a whim! Just pay 70 bluedongs.”

Hearing the price he quoted, I was certain. Today, Uncle Jerome fully intended to take me for a fool. I raised my hand to stop him.
