It was unexpected that Shuri McKane was so aloof. I’d been surprised to hear that someone who called his younger sister “Little Cherry” and cried so profusely could possibly be described as aloof—but according to Ileina, that really was how he usually behaved.

He was exceptionally devoted to his younger sister alone, likely because he’d lost their parents early on and had raised her by himself despite their considerable age gap, which naturally made him feel even more attached to her.

She had been his only family until he married Ileina. Especially since he was deeply fixated on family, his demeanor at home differed significantly from how he appeared to outsiders.

Indeed, whenever we happened to meet inside the house, he still choked up and murmured, “Little Cherry.”

Seeing him like that made me feel incredibly uneasy, but fortunately, he was always busy with work. He said he’d fallen far behind on his duties while caring for the ailing Claire, so it would be difficult to see him for a while.

“The main house sent over some rare tea as a gift. I wanted to share it with Claire. But more importantly, how are you feeling today?”

She asked me tentatively. I shook my head. I wasn’t the real Claire, so there was no way her memories would return. Seeing my expression harden, Ileina assumed I was distressed over the lost memories and tried to comfort me.

“Don’t worry too much. I’ve looked into others who went through similar experiences as Claire, and surprisingly, many of them eventually regained their memories.”

Ileina poured me a cup of tea tinged with red. It carried a faint, lily-like fragrance. I recognized it—it was the same tea Ian often served me when I’d visited the Imperial Capital to treat him.

Taymeron had originally been a regional name, but since the tea grew only there, it eventually became known as Taymeron tea.

Because it grew in high-altitude areas with abundant sunlight, it had little astringency and featured a mild bitterness along with a vivid red hue. Though its color and aroma were exquisite, it was highly prized due to its extremely limited production.
