Though Shuri McKane didn’t seem like the type to gossip, he apparently couldn’t help but give in when it came to his wife.

After all, if Ileina simply said she couldn’t sleep because she was so curious, anyone would inevitably spill every little detail. It wasn’t easy to resist her charm.

Anyway, thanks to that, I was able to hear in great detail—from Ileina herself—about what had happened to Prince Daniel at the opera house. And right from the morning, too.

I’d delayed going to work just to sit at the garden table with a cup of tea, listening to Ileina’s story. Honestly, it was intriguing enough to justify being late.

I was dying to know: why had so many people crowded into the opera box? Why had Sir Pravo, the prince’s closest friend, ended up dangling from the railing? And if weapons like knives were strictly prohibited, how had one ended up there?

“Well, that day, Sir Pravo and His Highness Prince Daniel came to watch the opera together. But instead of actually watching it, they were apparently exchanging all sorts of crude and scandalous talk.”

It seemed they assumed the box was a private space, so their conversation wouldn’t leak outside—and thus, they even said things they’d never normally utter aloud.

Most of what they discussed was filthy, disgraceful, and utterly unbecoming of nobles.

Despite these being acts any morally decent person would never commit, they chattered on without an ounce of shame.

Prince Daniel especially refused to admit any wrongdoing and instead loudly insisted it wasn’t his fault at all.

“Goodness… that’s truly speechless-level conversation. I’d heard he was a playboy, but I never thought he’d be so utterly unrestrained.”

Even though Ileina had probably softened the most vulgar parts before relaying them, it still didn’t sound like something a prince should say.

Moreover, even when Ian called him a notorious womanizer, I’d assumed he was the type who charmed people gently—never imagining he’d lead such a reckless, dissolute life.

Though appearances aren’t everything, Prince Daniel had always come across as pure due to his gentle demeanor and soft-sounding voice.
