I’d asked him to do a difficult task, but he ended up creating more trouble, so I told him to help me instead by making an inventory list of the ingredients on the shelves.

It wasn’t even counting—just copying the names written on the bottles onto a document in order, a very simple task that anyone who could read and write could handle.

Yet he had a knack for complicating even this easy job—he’d jumbled up the order of the herb bottles completely.

Thankfully, I cross-checked it; otherwise, we’d have faced major issues during inventory reconciliation.

Prince Daniel usually gave such a gentle impression that he’d make anyone facing him smile—but even that charming face didn’t hold much sway anymore. His constant blunders had nearly given me trauma whenever I saw his smile.

Now, whenever he smiled, my first thought was automatically, “What trouble has he caused this time?” His kind smile now felt more like the grin of a demon. He truly was an expert at making work for others.

If it were only him causing trouble, I could have somehow endured it—but whenever he showed up at the Medical Bureau, Ian inevitably appeared as well. And of course, whenever Ian appeared, Daniel was sure to follow.

At this level of dedication, wouldn’t you say their brotherly bond was exceptionally deep?

Yet every time I tried to praise their fraternal affection, they’d instantly flare up at me with furious glares. I’d thought they merely looked similar, but they were practically identical twins.

There’s an old saying that children can’t steal their parents’ looks—but it clearly applied to the brothers Ian and Daniel. They looked exactly alike, and even their behavior was identical.

But they weren’t always on good terms. As I mentioned earlier, both clung tightly to me, constantly badmouthing each other. Even pleasant words grow tiresome when repeated, so hearing endless criticisms had nearly made my eardrums bleed.

The funniest part was that they insulted each other right to their faces. If they were so eager to fight, why not just step outside and settle it properly instead of dragging me into it?

Their complaints were always the same. Ian would disparage his younger brother Daniel as an incompetent womanizer, while Daniel would denounce his older brother Ian as a psychopath utterly devoid of humanity.

It was interesting to see a side of Ian I hadn’t witnessed before—but this was going too far.
