Save Me (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 1
“Execute the traitor!”
In the season of fresh green foliage, on a day that was exceptionally clear and beautiful, the Emperor finally went mad.
“What are you doing! Call the guards immediately! It’s a summary execution!”
“Good heavens.”
Those who lowered their heads whispered in horror.
The charge was treason, but no one agreed.
They simply thought that the Emperor, who had envied Duke Valroc all his life, had gone mad with jealousy.
But even madness should have its limits.
The opponent was Duke Valroc.
Valroc, who yielded to no one in military power, authority, or wealth.
The only one who could face the monsters beyond the ice wall in the far north.
Had he really forgotten that it was because such a man had voluntarily offered strange obedience that this empire and the throne could remain intact?
“Guards! Guards! Bring your swords!”
The sight of Duke Valroc accepting the rampaging Emperor’s tyranny was the same as always, but today something was off.
The Emperor had crossed the line, and the Duke was crossing it even further.
The balance of this incomprehensible one-sided relationship was tipping so far it was on the verge of breaking.
“Your Majesty, please reconsider.”
Marquis Warren, unable to bear it any longer, stepped forward unusually.
“Warren, are you shielding a traitor in my presence right now?”
“Your Majesty. If not him, who will guard the ice wall……. Keok!”
Marquis Warren collapsed, struck by the sword the Emperor swung before he could finish his words.
“Anyone who sympathizes with treason, step forward now. I will execute them along with Duke Valroc.”
Drip. Drip.
The Emperor, swinging a blood-soaked sword and shouting, was consumed by madness.
If this continued, it would truly be ruin.
Instead of the Emperor, with whom words no longer worked, people pleaded with the Duke.
“Your Grace, please hide for a moment until His Majesty calms down…….”
But this side was just as unresponsive.
Duke Valroc, looking down at those pleading with him, placed a finger to his lips.
“……Shh.”
Duke Valroc silenced those worried about him and ultimately offered his neck to the Emperor.
It was a day gone mad.
However, the strangest thing among all was the words the Duke left before his execution.
“Finally.”
Duke Valroc was smiling even as he was ‘murdered’ without a proper trial!
There was no trace of injustice, anger, or betrayal in his faintly smiling expression.
Rather, it was refreshing and almost joyful.
That was why the smile Duke Valroc wore as he faced death was beautiful rather than sorrowful.
The smile on his already beautiful face was intensely striking.
Even the Emperor, who had envied Valroc all his life, stared at the Duke in a daze.
But the smile evaporated like summer snow in an instant, and the Emperor, regaining his senses, ultimately executed Duke Valroc, who had been ‘unconditionally’ loyal to the imperial family.

“He’s mad. He’s mad. He was mad!”
The Emperor, tearing at his hair and screaming wildly, suddenly jerked his head up and looked for Bianca.
“Bianca!”
“Yes.”
“Is this possible?”
Instead of answering, Bianca lowered her eyes and avoided his gaze.
“Of course I wouldn’t have done it.”
She, born after devouring the beloved Empress, had never been allowed to speak.

“It couldn’t have been in my right mind. Of course. Right? Someone must have cast a spell on me. Who the hell did it?”
Now, extremely anxious and looking for a place to vent his irritation.
“Ah. What am I going to do about this? The harvest festival is coming soon. Winter will come after the harvest!”
Even more so.
After Duke Valroc’s execution, the Emperor had been in this state the whole time.
When winter comes, the terrifying things that had been huddled up climb over the ice wall.
People called them monsters, and the only one who could face them was Valroc, known as Termina’s dragon.
“If this continues, the Termina Empire is finished!”
The mad Emperor was finally coming to his senses.
Now, when it was irreversible.
As Bianca let out a quiet sigh so the raging Emperor wouldn’t hear, the Crown Prince, who had been silent like Bianca since being summoned, spoke.
“I think this is enough, please calm down now.”
“Calm down! Is this some ordinary matter!”
The Crown Prince didn’t blink an eye at the Emperor’s outburst.
“There’s a way to resolve it, so please calm down.”
He even collapsed his upright posture, leaned back lazily in his chair, and smiled.
“I heard this generation’s Duke Valroc doesn’t even have a fiancée yet.”
“……What?”
“And people call that one the empire’s greatest beauty.”
The Crown Prince’s finger pointed at Bianca.
“How about giving that one a chance to atone for her sins?”
The sin of being born after devouring her mother will be repaid in this way. Father.
The quietly added words were colder than a winter wind, and Bianca squeezed her eyes shut.
The Emperor said nothing.

The next day, a messenger carrying the imperial proposal departed for the ducal estate.
One month later.
“S-Something terrible has happened!”
With a sobbing voice, Deborah came running as if rolling and stood in front of Bianca.
“You mustn’t run. Deborah.”
“That’s not what’s important right now.”
“It is important. Deborah. How long until you enter the palace, and you’re still like this? You’ll get in big trouble.”
Deborah, who had been dazed by the calm voice, seemed to snap out of it at the small addition of ‘now that even I’m gone’ and shouted loudly.
“Your Highness!”
Not satisfied with that, Deborah even grabbed and pulled at Princess Bianca.
“The Duke is here! It’s not too late even now. Let’s run away. Okay?”
“No.”
“Sister!”
When she didn’t even pretend to listen, Deborah seemed to act not as a maid but as a ‘cousin’ and called her sister.
Bianca let out a small sigh and spoke sternly to Deborah.
“You must call me Your Highness. Deborah.”
“I don’t care about that! Hurry, come with me.”
“You know it’s impossible.”
“Impossible! Father has prepared everything. You just have to pretend not to know and board the ship. Okay?”
“Deborah Elijah. I remember rejecting that proposal?”
“Why! Why reject it! Why did I even become a maid for this!”
Despite her sharp voice, Deborah’s eyes were already red and she was on the verge of tears.
“I’m not going. If I disappear, the Elijah marquisate will definitely be pointed to as the mastermind behind hiding me.”
“How can they punish our marquisate without evidence!”
At Deborah’s naive words, Bianca felt her breath catch for a moment.

To still not know this imperial family.
“Was there evidence of treason?”
“What?”
Deborah’s tear-filled eyes trembled.
“Did Termina’s dragon, who voluntarily wore a leash since the founding, have any crime?”
“That……that’s.”
“They even cut down Termina’s dragon, so a marquisate is nothing. Snap out of it, Deborah Elijah.”
At Bianca’s cold warning, Deborah finally shed tears.
“Then, then. You know she’s obviously going to her death, and I’m just supposed to watch with my hands tied?”
“Deborah. Watch your words. This is my final warning.”
Bianca slightly bent her waist to meet the eyes of Deborah, who was shorter than her.
The solemn blue eyes looking at Deborah gleamed darkly and stubbornly like the deep sea.
“His Majesty will arrange my marriage with the Duke. It’s to forget the misunderstandings and concerns of the past and solidify harmony.”
For some reason, her tongue felt bitter and stiff, but Bianca managed to finish speaking in a calm tone.
“With this marriage, the empire will wash away the unsavory incident. The companion of the dragon that protects Termina. What an honorable thing.”
“You liar! Liar!”
Deborah sobbed loudly.
“It’s a sacrifice, how is this garbage honor! Aren’t you wronged, sister? Aren’t you scared!”
Thick tears fell drop by drop, like raindrops.
Bianca, watching Deborah cry so hard her face was soaked in an instant, slowly opened her arms.
Deborah, struggling over something that couldn’t be, looked foolish, but the sight of her crying so much for her sake was too lovable to ignore.
“Come here. Let me hug you once. That’s enough.”
“Don’t go, Sister Bianca. Don’t go.”
Deborah, buried in her arms, sniffled and begged, but Bianca only tightened her hold and said nothing more.
Until the attendant came to fetch her, saying it was His Majesty’s call.
Not a single word.
“Sister! Sister! Don’t go!”
Bianca, leaving the sobbing Deborah behind and following the attendant, was not at ease in her heart either.
But there was no choice.
What she told Deborah was not just an empty threat.
It was the vivid intimidation she heard from the Emperor last night.
‘It seems Marquis Elijah has taken up a new hobby lately? I heard he launched a ship in the Berial waters.’
‘One must be careful with ships. The sea is fickle and can swallow a ship in an instant.’
Deborah was confident that she had prepared a way to escape, but the Emperor already knew everything.
The sparks must not reach Uncle Marquis Elijah, who had treated her like a daughter.
There was no way to be saved.
If someone had to die, she alone was enough.
So Bianca was determined to make the marriage with the Duke succeed today.
By any means necessary.
Calming her churning heart, Bianca, with a composed face, gestured to the attendant with her chin.
“Announce and open the door.”
In the reception room visible through the wide-open doors was a man shining white, stealing attention at first glance.
He was not only tall enough that one had to crane their neck to look up, but unbelievably beautiful.
Intellectually gleaming golden eyes, a nose bridge stretching straight like a glide, and a sharp jawline.
Even the silver hair softly flowing down his forehead.
He had a beauty more meticulously crafted than a statue.
But perhaps because of the long eye corners slightly pointing upward, or the lowered eyebrows.
His posture was upright, yet it gave off a strangely decadent feeling.
A man with an ambiguous aura, coldly shining sun-like golden eyes.
There was no need to ask who he was.

Bianca knew someone who exuded exactly this atmosphere before.
“Duke Valroc?”
“I greet Your Highness the Princess.”
But after exchanging greetings, she saw that there was no one else in the reception room besides him and herself.
Could it be that she had come too early?
“Perhaps…….”
Before she could ask where the Emperor was, the thick door closed.
Thud.
With the heavy sound echoing behind her, for a moment, Deborah’s shout rang in her head.
‘It’s a sacrifice, how is this garbage honor!’
“……!”
In that moment, Bianca realized.
A sacrifice.
Not metaphorically, but truly a sacrifice to appease the wrath of Termina’s dragon.
“Princess Bianca?”
Bianca, lifting her head, let out a small groan.
“Ah…….”
The man’s smile, sweetly curving even though he might tear her apart, was maddeningly sweet.
For a brief moment, making her mind go blank.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
