“Madam! You didn’t ring for me! Had you pulled the bellcord, I’d have come at once!”

Julie fretted as she saw Bianca enter the room alone.

“My goodness, traveling such a long way alone! How dangerous!”

“What long journey? Julie, don’t fuss.”

Bianca held back tears as she saw Julie make a fuss, as if the short distance from the office to the bedroom was a significant ordeal.

“Still, what sort of lady travels without a maid or an escort? You must never do this again.”

“My word. Who knew Julie could be so noisy. Madam, are you all right?”

“Hailey?”

Julie finally stopped talking when Hailey stepped in.

Julie seemed genuinely surprised to notice Hailey, as if she had only eyes for Bianca until that moment.

“Should I praise your focus or criticize your absentmindedness?”

With that, Hailey pulled Bianca to the sofa near the heater.

“Julie, go make some tea.”

“Yes, Hailey.”

While sending Julie off, Hailey skillfully draped a blanket over Bianca’s lap.

“There’s no need for this.”

“You don’t realize how cold your hands are. Madam, please be cautious in this chill.”

“It was only a moment.”

“Yet, longer than usual, wasn’t it?”

Kneeling before Bianca, Hailey recapped the situation as if it were a matter of course.

“Please consider any moment dangerous, Madam. Don’t overlook it. I worry because you haven’t yet adapted to this northern chill. Just be a little more cautious.”

“Earlier, thank you.”

Bianca smiled at the elaborate explanation by Hailey.

The reason Bianca had been so cold was due to her confrontation with Elizabeth, the captain of the 6th castle, on her way back to her bedroom.

She thought some stern words would make Elizabeth understand.

But, she was a knight overflowing with pride.

Words from anyone other than a knight failed to inspire her.

The words of Elizabeth still reverberated clearly in Bianca’s ears.

“To wish to rest even within the confines of the house! You can afford such carelessness only because you’re not a knight.”

“Careless? Watch your words.”

“Do you know how His Grace deals with the Waves? He faces hordes of monsters alone. The area is full of creatures, each the size of a house, all waiting to tear him apart!”

Well, who wouldn’t know that?

That’s why she wanted him to at least find some respite ‘at home.’

But to shut that down with the word ‘careless’?

How could people be so cruel to Barlock?

“Insolent!”

However, Bianca had no chance to unleash her fury.

Elizabeth didn’t even give her a chance to speak and yelled out.

“Such nonchalant words from Your Highness will get His Grace killed!”

Who’s dying?

“Is it only His Grace who’ll die? If he falls, everyone in Barlock will perish.”

“Silence! Mind your tongue.”

“No, the one who should mind their tongue isn’t me, but…”

“To speak of a knight’s duty so frivolously!”

Just then, Hailey interjected, cutting through the heated conversation.

Bianca didn’t even notice when Hailey had arrived, but she naturally joined their conversation.

Instantly, her view was blocked.

Bianca was fairly tall back in the capital.

Without wearing flatlike shoes that barely had heels, her height would stick out like a sore thumb at parties, and she sometimes wondered if she was too tall.

But right now, she regretted that thought.

She wished she were taller.

Then, she wouldn’t have seemed like she was hiding behind Hailey.

Her thoughts were foolishly getting carried away.

And it seemed she wasn’t the only one.
Elizabeth confronted Hailey directly.

“What did you just say? Hailey Armor. Favoritism!”

“Captain Elizabeth Swan. What you just mentioned is a knight’s duty. It means not bestowing favors upon another.”

“I am telling you not to interfere with an obvious duty.”

Hailey responded in a polite tone, even as Elizabeth glared at him as if she would tear him apart.

“Act like a knight. You’re forcing the issue. Who can deprive the lord of his rest?”

“Hailey Armor!”

“Haven’t we promised loyalty to the lord, compassion for the weak, and unchanging devotion? Consider whether your words aren’t a disgrace to the name of a knight…”

“Why would Hailey Armor of all people say such things?”

“Because I am the steward appointed by the Duke. My job is to manage and organize Barlock Manor, so this is strictly my business.”

Throughout, Hailey held Bianca’s hand tightly.

It was a silent plea to entrust it to him.

While he hadn’t managed to directly suppress Elizabeth Swan, Hailey’s intervention was timely.

Bianca clearly remembered Elizabeth calling her ‘princess.’

She was a ‘Termina’ to Elizabeth, not a Duchess.

Words would not reach her.

Though not felt at the Manor, animosity seemed to be widespread in Barlock Territory.

Bianca accepted the situation.

This was not a problem to be solved immediately; it would require longterm care.

“I understand that tensions are high because the castle fell, but don’t blame others.”

Hailey led Bianca to her bedroom, delivering his final pointed remark.

“…Ka?”

“Hmm?”

Bianca snapped back to reality at the sound of Hailey’s voice.

Male lead is a Destined Young Husband (Female-dominant)

One-sentence summary: Wife-master, listen to my explanation!

Li Ruantang, a young lady from a prestigious family, stumbled and fell. When she woke up, she saw a noble and beautiful young man sitting by her bedside, wiping away tears.

The young master had slightly reddened eyes, and his every move exuded charm.

The sight made Li Ruantang’s eyes hot and her heart flutter. After all, she had made a bet with the young master Meng from the neighboring family. If she couldn’t marry a husband before the end of the year, she would have to admit defeat and give up the jade she had worked so hard to obtain.

Outside the window, the flowers were in full bloom.

Rather than losing the bet, the jade, and her face, Li Ruantang calculated that it would be better to seek marriage with the young master in front of her, killing three birds with one stone.

…

Meng Jun never thought that an accident during a spring outing would lead to them rolling down a cliff and into a river, yet still survive.

Now they were trapped in an unknown village, and Meng Jun had overheard that the family who had rescued them had their own intentions.

After all, it was Li Ruantang who had lost her mind and sought marriage first. He was only trying to protect himself!

Glancing at Li Ruantang, who was listing her own merits, the young husband’s voice softened, and he blushed as he lied, “W-wife-master, Wife-master, don’t you remember me?”

The young husband’s voice was clear and handsome, coaxing Li Ruantang’s heart to be soft and sweet, and she spared no effort to protect him.

It wasn’t until they returned to the capital that Li Ruantang suddenly remembered.

When they had fallen off the cliff, in order not to implicate Wei Yunruo, whom he secretly admired, the young husband had instead pulled her, who was slightly farther away, down the cliff with him…

Short summary by Yuushi L: Initially, the male lead (ML) liked another girl, while the female lead (FL) liked the ML. Both fell off a cliff. The FL temporarily lost her memory, and the ML, fearing others might take advantage of him, claimed FL was his wife while they were staying in a village. Later, when they returned home, the FL regained her memories and remembered that the ML liked someone else, so she kept her distance from him. However, during their time living together in the countryside, the ML’s view of the FL had completely changed. From this point, his pursuit of the FL begins.
