The answer seemed forced.

However, Bianca thought it was enough.

After all, the man who had referred to her as his queen was smiling.

As usual.

No, far more beautifully than usual.

Blinded by the radiance of his entire being, Bianca realized something after a long while.

“The sun?”

It had been so long, she couldn’t even remember the last time she’d seen it.

The endlessly falling snowstorm had stopped.

The snow had ceased.

As Gillian Barlock had said.

Kreta was fully absorbing the pouring sunlight, encouraging the workers.

“Over there! Move the cart to the warp engine, load it up immediately! Do not carry it by hand, conserve your energy! We have a lot of work to do before the next wave!”

“Yes, Kreta!”

“Load the carts directly from the warp engine and move to the seventh fortress. We don’t have much time, so hurry!”

Despite the overwhelming work that left them gasping, no one complained.

The wave was a matter of life and death.

The news that the seventh fortress had fallen spread like wildfire.

As soon as the fortress fell, monsters tore through Barlock territory.

No one needed to chide the people.

They had lost loved ones and felt it in their bones.

“Quite the event.”

A man in the middle of the long line of carts muttered.

“What’s so special?”

“No, this event. This fortress that hasn’t fallen since the empire was founded suddenly collapses…”

“It’s an old fortress that has been around as long as the empire. I heard they’re planning a largescale repair after this year’s wave?”

“Well, that’s true, but it makes me think.”

What seemed like idle chatter grew into a full conversation, drawing attention from those around.

Even if it was insignificant, being the center of attention felt somewhat gratifying.

The man scratched the back of his head and lowered his voice.

“It’s strangely timely.”

“What do you mean by timely?”
Someone lowered his voice to respond to a question.

“Everything exploded as soon as Princess Termina arrived.”

“Huh?”

A strange exclamation erupted from somewhere, subtly freezing the atmosphere.

Everyone’s faces hardened, displaying clear signs of confusion.

Unaware earlier, but thinking about it, the timing was indeed impeccable.

“So, this is…”

Just when someone was about to speak in a voice as low as the man’s

A nervous clatter came from the cart behind.

“Listen, you’re hearing all kinds of nonsense. What bad could come from Termina’s arrival? According to the prophecy, good things should be overflowing.”

“No, no, nobody said anything, it’s just”

“Just what? Don’t you dare spread rumors like that. Trouble will arise.”

“I didn’t really do anything. It just occurred to me, so I mentioned it since we’re among ourselves.”

“Anyway, don’t. Erase it from your thoughts, never bring it up again.”

Annoyed, the man who first spoke also awkwardly tightened his grip on the reins.

The sun was still high, and goods were continuously arriving at the warp portal.

The butler with bound feet arrived when the fourth bundle of goods was delivered.

By then, dozens of carts had moved and what remained were trifles, lessening the crowd.

Kreta slightly bowed upon seeing a modestlooking man standing on the warp portal.

“I am Kreta Varhan, the Duke’s aide.”

“Greetings, I am Alek Hitroysen. I apologize for exceeding the expected arrival date.”

“It’s fine. Everyone is well aware of the northern snowstorms. It’s truly fortunate you could make it at all.”

In reality, I had assumed you’d arrive in April.

Smiling, Kreta whispered his ‘joke’.

A small courtesy for Alek, who introduced himself and would become the butler in the unfamiliar and cold territory of Barlock Province.

Alek nodded at Kreta’s joke.

“If I had come in spring, I would have prepared a bouquet for the lady. I regret arriving emptyhanded.”

A man whose every aspect seemed impeccably formal.

However, listening to his lightly spoken words suggested he wasn’t entirely rigid.

Masking his observant gaze, Kreta smiled warmly once more.

“The lady likes flowers, but she prefers kind people even more. You should be fine.”

“Ah, she prefers kind people?”

“Who wouldn’t prefer kind people?”

“That’s true.”

Exchanging frivolous talk, Kreta led Alek into the castle, one step ahead.

Thud.

With his step,

Thud.

Alek’s step followed.

Suddenly, Kreta glanced back at the young butler trailing behind him.

Although the snow had been cleared, the longlasting winter had frozen the ground solid.

He was the Duke’s aide and also a knight.

Walking on ice was trivial for him.

Yet the steps of Alek, who would become an external associate and butler, were unbelievably stable.

“The road is slippery. Be careful.”

Kreta smiled lightly.

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
