Inside the small room where they’d been let in to talk, Na Ri looked around.

It seemed to be Luca’s study—there was a computer and a printer, and plush toys shaped like snakes or horses were scattered about.

“Um, what do you do for work?”

Now that she thought about it, Luca here didn’t seem to be a Hunter either.

Min Jae Yun was a teacher, so what exactly did Luca do?

“Why do you care? Is that really something you need to ask right now? Even if you’re a student, I don’t plan on cutting you any slack—doesn’t matter if you’re my husband’s student or not.”

At those words, Luca turned her gaze as if to say, “What’s the big deal about that?”

Meeting her cold stare, Na Ri quickly waved both hands.

“Oh! No, no! It’s not like that! I was just, just curious!!”

At the phrase “just curious,” Luca’s expression began souring again.

Realizing she should bring up someone else, Na Ri hurriedly mentioned her husband.

“Um, Teacher Jae Yun is such a wonderful teacher! That’s why I was curious! That’s all!”

Surely, someone who loved their family as much as Luca did would feel proud hearing them praised—right? Even if not always, that was the kind of person Na Ri believed Luca to be:

grumpy, with wildly erratic behavior, yet endlessly devoted to her family, treating their joy as if it were her own.
