Was it six years ago, or five? I can’t even remember clearly. Anyway, it must have been sometime in between.

Back then, before he even had the name ‘Rude,’ there was a time when Na Ri herself didn’t even realize how negatively her skills affected others’ minds.

Unable to control the sudden power she’d gained, she followed the Ruler of Chaos’s advice, created a secondary avatar, disguised herself as it, and quietly entered empty Gates to practice her skills.

A Gate had opened inside a school; since it was late at night and no one could report it, Na Ri was the only one present at the scene.

Because it was a school at midnight, there’d be no survivors anyway, so the Ruler of Chaos specially notified her of this Gate, telling her to go in alone and try to regulate her power.

Inside the tunnel-like Gate, Rude—now known as ‘Na Ri’s alt’—was cutting down monsters freely to test his strength when he came across a boy quietly lying there.

He wore a neat black vest and a blue tie. The name tag pinned on his chest was obscured by his jacket.

“What the hell—is this a corpse? Am I seriously seeing a kid’s dead body right after entering the Gate?”

The black-clad man, Rude, crept closer, wondering what kind of corpse this was—when suddenly, the boy snapped his eyes open.

“Yaaah!! Ugh, damn it! My heart! You scared me half to death!!”

The man who had screamed clutched his chest and leaned against the wall. The boy stared at him blankly.

Beneath jet-black hair, his blue eyes shone unnaturally bright, yet the high school boy gave off an oddly gloomy, sinister aura.

“You—what are you, Snow White? Why are you lying like that?”

Rude, who had nearly dropped his heart, brushed his face and exhaled as if sighing.

“If you spot a Gate, just report it and run away—what’s with this? Are you a senior in high school so sleep-deprived that you passed out? Go home and sleep if you’re tired. I’ll send you off.”
