Although the theater was empty except for Na Ri, as soon as Hermes vanished, the sound of applause filled the air and the theater darkened.

He winked at Na Ri and stepped backward; the light where he’d stood extinguished.

His parents looked at each other, nodded, then gently patted the boy again as they spoke.

“Your room will be right there from now on. It’s your very own space, so feel free to decorate it however you like.”
