“Uh, hello! P-please have a seat here.”
Kang Ihyun hid his perplexity as he directed Jungsuh to sit in front of him.
Since Jungsuh wasn’t on the list of hunters reserved for today, Kang Ihyun displayed a puzzled expression.
When Jungsuh sat down with a round face, Kang Ihyun smiled again.
“Oh, uh! I’m sorry… You’re not on the list of reservations for today.”
Jungsuh widened his eyes and soon took out a rugged smartphone. Come to think of it, they said there was a dedicated communication device for War Gods, and it seemed to be that.
Tododok, Todok. Jungsuh, typing a message, handed the screen to Kang Ihyun.
[Your Holiness, I felt embarrassed to come without an appointment since you suggested I should get an examination. I apologize. I’ll make sure to reserve in advance next time.]“Oh, no, no! I was just momentarily surprised. It’s fine. Please have a seat.”
[Your Holiness, the staff of the Cleansing Wand says you seem uncomfortable now and bows its head to soothe you.]‘Well, of course…!’
Kang Ihyun pushed down the burning sensation inside him upon receiving the golden indirect message.
‘So, looking at it, it’s clear that he’s someone with some kind of relationship with Nari, and it feels like spinning around trying to smile in front of someone who might be a connection, maybe even a trace…’
[Your Holiness, the Cleansing Wand thinks kind thoughts. Kind thoughts! While soothing you.]“Uh.”
“……?”
“Oh, it’s nothing! Uh, where are you feeling uncomfortable?”
When the thought that it could become unnecessarily vulgar was about to arise, the Holy Throne blocked it, and Kang Ihyun, wearing a refreshed smile, faced Jungsuh again.
Seeing Jungsuh hesitating for a moment, Kang Ihyun clapped his hands.
“Oh, if you’re worried that my condition might be revealed, it’s okay! I’ve taken the secrecy oath, and if I spread it to anyone, I’ll be punished.”
The ‘Secrecy Oath’ written before Rood and Kang Ihyun came north. It included a clause that if they did not cooperate fully with the investigation into what happened in the north, they would face punishment.
Showing the oath to Jungsuh, he hesitated for a moment, then began typing something on his terminal again.
[The body is fine. The problem is on the abnormal state side, so I wondered if you could examine it once…….]“An abnormal state? Well, that’s not something I can do much about.”
“…….”
“But still, I’ll take a look! Just a moment!”
When Jungsuh made a wounded expression, Kang Ihyun urgently grabbed Jungsuh’s hand.
Impressing the image of someone hard to refuse, Kang Ihyun sent his power through the hand he held.
“Sephirah’s Tree, connect.”
[Divine Trait :: Remedy of the Holy God] [Your Holiness, using the authority of the Cleansing Wand.]Behind Kang Ihyun, a golden light flowed. To diagnose not only a simple examination but also the abnormal state, the power of the Holy Throne was needed.
[Connecting to the Tree of Sephiroth.]
[Confirmed the Guardian of the Tree of Life. Please wait a moment.]
[Granting access to Raphael’s Avatar, Tiphereth.]
“In the center of the scales, in balance.”
With a rustling sound, the golden halo began to slowly permeate Jungsuh. Since it was the authority of Raphael, there was no need for permission from other angels.
Raphael’s energy thoroughly scanned Jungsuh and eventually returned to Kang Ihyun.
Analyzing the information provided by the halo, Kang Ihyun gradually opened his eyes wide and looked at Jungsuh.
“…There is an abnormal state.”
Jungsuh avoided Kang Ihyun’s gaze. Kang Ihyun calmly reanalyzed the information.
It was natural for modern hunters to have one or more abnormal states. However, for Jungsuh…
‘Too many.’
Kang Ihyun, who had just dismissed the idea that Jungsuh’s story about being affected was a lie, unconsciously grasped Jungsuh’s hand tightly.
He didn’t know if those words might actually be true.
“…Mr. Guardian, are you okay? Is the current condition suitable for work? It would be better to go down and receive appropriate treatment…”
Jungsuh was startled by Kang Ihyun’s words and then avoided eye contact again.
Seeming nervous, he shook his legs and just nodded his head slightly. Hesitatingly, Jungsuh wrote something on the terminal with his hands again and then raised his phone.
[Is there no way to treat this?] “I can’t do this. The only thing I can do is provide temporary surgical treatment. It would be better for you to go down and receive counseling…”Jungsuh, who had been biting his nails, suddenly stood up from his seat. Startled, Kang Ihyun looked at him, and Jungsuh quickly typed a message on the terminal again.
[In that case, it’s fine. Thank you for your advice.]“No, wait. I can’t just let you go like this. It’s not just because you’re a Priest class; even as a hunter to hunter. You should go down and get proper treatment!”
After a brief hesitation, Jungsuh, who had been stroking his own chin, slowly typed a message on the terminal. Then he extended it.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
