With each flap of its wings, gusts blew, and Lud had to grip his black half-scissor sword even tighter in the ground. Barely looking up, Lud grimaced.
“Damn… It’s entering a new phase.”
The dragon was flying in circles around the field. Lud wanted to change the field’s properties before it shifted to a new phase.
However, his stamina had been depleted more than expected. Kang I-hyun, noticing Lud’s condition from a distance, was running towards him.
[Kieeeeeek!!!]The dragon, whirling in the air, let out a roar. Concurrently, the field shook violently.
Magma erupted where the ice wasn’t yet solid. The hot heat was melting the newly formed ice.
Koogooogooong! Ominous sounds filled the field. The ceiling of the field reacted to the dragon’s roar, creaking and moving.
‘If this were a real Gate… the ceiling above would’ve collapsed.’
Cracks were already forming on the ground and surrounding walls. The thought alone was spine-chilling if it had been real.
‘Thankfully, this mock battle is virtual reality, so no harm done,’ Lud thought casually. That’s when a message appeared in front of him.

In a completely disarmed outfit of a white short-sleeve tee, Lud reached out his hand in panic.
Crackling, Lud noticed something draped over his arm and carefully looked down at his body.
[You are wearing the Armor of Holy Fire. Your defense has increased.]He was enveloped in white armor. In the moment of crisis, I-hyun had removed his armor and wrapped it around Lud. Lud quickly looked up at I-hyun.
“What’s this? What if you get hurt?”
“I… I’m fine. I’m quite sturdy. And if Lud gets hurt, that’s not good…”
“Are you crazy?! You could have just wrapped your armored body around me. What if you get seriously hurt!”
“It’s okay!”
I-hyun smiled brightly and responded as if it was nothing.
“I heal quickly, even if I lose a limb! My specialty is regenerating in an instant. So, giving the armor to Lud is more efficient.”
“No, regardless of healing, it still hurts, doesn’t it? Why are you doing this?! Don’t you trust me?!”
