Romance for You (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 9
Knock knock.
Lee Su glanced at the door at the sound of the knock.
“Yes.”
The door opened, and unexpectedly, Yoo Mi stepped inside.
She’d never come in after hearing Lee Su’s reply before.
Lee Su looked at her with a puzzled expression.
“I have something to ask you… You’re in the ski club, right, unnie?”
Had she ever called her “unnie” when they were alone? Lee Su nodded, and Yoo Mi, eyes crinkling slightly, spoke carefully.
“I really, really want to join the ski club, but they told me it’s already closed for new members. Since you’re a member, I thought maybe there’s something you could do.”
Yoo Mi hated having to ask Lee Su, but she was grasping at straws.
If she could just get in, she’d do anything.
“What?”
“Could you please help me join?”
Caught completely off guard, Lee Su felt flustered.
Yoo Mi, who never did strenuous sports because she worried about injuries—skiing, of all things?
Wondering why she’d insist on this knowing it was already closed, Lee Su naturally thought of “Ji Ho oppa.”
She’d heard many students were disappointed about missing the club sign-up—so there was one right in her own home.
“You’re doing this because of Seo Ji Ho too?”
Lee Su swallowed a hollow laugh and replied with a look of disbelief.
“That’s the president’s decision. There’s nothing I can do to help.”
“If you just say the right words, what’s so hard about getting one more person in? It’s not like it’s a big deal—it’s just a club. Please, unnie. Just help me this once? If I say I’m your younger sister, they won’t refuse, will they?”
Lee Su was speechless.
Being in the same club as Yoo Mi?
She’d probably try to stop her from joining even if she applied—let alone help her get in by revealing she was her sister?
In fact, Lee Su thought it was a stroke of luck Yoo Mi hadn’t signed up before the deadline.
“I’ll ask you this way.”
Yoo Mi clasped her hands together respectfully and waited for an answer.
“No. Look into other clubs that aren’t closed yet.”
“If I wanted to join somewhere else, why would I ask you? It’s the ski club I want to join! Please, unnie.”
Lee Su watched Yoo Mi cling to her with a forced smile, unable to shake her off, and finally spoke, her expression strained.
“They already held the freshman welcome party yesterday. That really means it’s closed.”
Normally, the welcome party was held around the end of March, but since sign-ups closed early this year, they’d combined it with the opening party.
“Seriously? For real?”
Yoo Mi’s face instantly crumpled.
“So that’s why you came home late after drinking last night?”
“Yeah.”
Back to calling her “you” instead of “unnie.” Honestly, this felt easier.
Lee Su opened the sliding door into her study from inside the bedroom.
As she packed her books and tablet into her bag, Yoo Mi followed her in.
“Was Ji Ho oppa there last night too?”
“…Yeah.”
At the sound of “Ji Ho oppa,” Lee Su shot Yoo Mi a quick glance.
So it really was because of Seo Ji Ho.
“Don’t tell me he gave you a ride home again?”
Yoo Mi swallowed hard as she asked.
Lee Su stared at Yoo Mi silently for a moment, then spoke.
“Let me ask just one thing. Are you doing this on your own, or does he know about it too?”
“What kind of question is that? Oppa and I have known each other since we were kids—it’s been over ten years! There’s no comparison between us and you!”
I see.
Lee Su’s eyebrows lifted slightly, then dropped again.
Trending
She hadn’t realized they’d known each other that long.
“If you two know each other so well—better than you and I—why keep coming to me to ask? Why not just ask him directly?”
“Well…”
Yoo Mi stammered, words stuck in her throat.
“You can’t even talk to him about this?”
“I’m asking you because I can! There’s someone right here in the same house to ask, isn’t there?”
“Calling Seo Ji Ho would be way faster than coming all the way up to my room, don’t you think?”
Lee Su turned away with a soft laugh.
Yoo Mi followed her into the walk-in closet and snapped irritably,
“Just answer what I asked! Did you two come back together last night or not?”
Lee Su slipped her arms into the cardigan she’d taken from the closet and recalled last night.
While she’d been having that ridiculous phone call with Ji Ho, she’d missed multiple calls from Ae Ra and Dong Woo.
When she didn’t answer, Ae Ra had texted saying they were moving to a new spot after the first round and asked her to get in touch.
Lee Su had called Ae Ra to confirm the location and gone there with Ji Ho.
“You go in. I’ll just grab my bag from Ae Ra and head home.”
“I’ll take you. You’re really drunk.”
Ji Ho had said it was because she was drunk—that he’d do the same for anyone, not just her.
He’d said something similar on that rainy day too.
That he was giving her a ride only because it was raining hard.
She knew he meant not to make her feel burdened, but it still felt awkward.
“It’s fine. I’ll just take a taxi. You stay—you’re a new member; you should stay until the end of the welcome party.”
If people found out they’d left together, it might cause unnecessary misunderstandings.
Considering how much attention Ji Ho already drew, it was entirely possible.
“I’ll take you home and come right back.”
“Why go through all that trouble? Either way, we’d take a taxi together.”
To prove she was perfectly fine, Lee Su spun around once and firmly planted her feet back in place.
She did feel a little dizzy, but by tensing her legs hard, she didn’t wobble.
“See? I’m totally fine.”
Lee Su held her palms up with a bright smile, and Ji Ho burst out laughing as if utterly dumbfounded.
“Alright. I’ll just watch you get in the taxi and go in then.”
Ji Ho reluctantly gave in.
Soon after, Ae Ra came out, and Lee Su got into a taxi under their watchful eyes.
In the end, she’d gone home alone.
Yoo Mi’s face, waiting for an answer, carried a strange tension.
That expression meant she had no real certainty about Seo Ji Ho at all.
“No… I came alone.”
This was already the second time Yoo Mi had interrogated her like this.
Thinking about it, Lee Su found it deeply unpleasant—by what right did Yoo Mi press her like this?
Lee Su turned away, frowning, when Yoo Mi’s voice came from behind.
“I’m just saying this in case you were wondering—don’t go getting any ideas about Ji Ho oppa. I was there first.”
Seeing that Lee Su had come alone, Yoo Mi spoke with a slightly softened tone.
Lee Su couldn’t help but laugh in disbelief.
What did she mean, “first”?
Was she saying, “I claimed him, so don’t even think about it”?
“Don’t laugh! I’m serious!”
Yoo Mi’s sharp voice stung Lee Su’s ears.
The whole situation felt ridiculous.
How utterly exasperated Seo Ji Ho would be if he ever found out.
Just thinking about it made her cheeks burn with embarrassment.
Lee Su spun around abruptly and stepped toward Yoo Mi.

“Don’t ever ask me about Seo Ji Ho again. If you’re curious, go ask him yourself or figure it out on your own. Got it?”
She emphasized each syllable clearly.
Whether Yoo Mi would actually listen was uncertain, but Lee Su felt she had to draw the line once.

Lunchtime. Lee Su sat across from Ae Ra at a bean sprout soup restaurant outside campus.
A steaming bowl of bean sprout soup sat on the table between them.
“How much did you even drink yesterday to end up like this?”
Lee Su watched Ae Ra, clearly suffering from a hangover, with pity.
Ae Ra took a spoonful of soup and replied,
“We did about three rounds of soju surf-riding within our grade. Plus, we played every drinking game you can think of.”
Even while talking, hot broth kept flowing steadily into Ae Ra’s mouth.
“Ah, I finally feel a bit better. I almost had ramen for breakfast, but I held out because I was craving this soup.”
“Couldn’t you have just slipped out earlier? Did you really stay until the end?”
“When it’s time to go all out, you go all out. Yeah, it hurts now, but this’ll all be memories someday.”
Ae Ra grinned sheepishly.
“Honestly, seems like you had fun.”
“Of course! When else would I get to do something like this? This is my last chance this year.”
Ae Ra, who loved drinking gatherings, never missed a single one—almost as if she’d joined the ski club just for the alcohol.
She lived by her seniors’ advice to “enjoy yourself without regrets during pre-med” as if it were gospel.
“Hey, but yesterday, Senior Min Woo passed out completely drunk.”
After finishing half her bowl, Ae Ra suddenly remembered.
“Really? I heard he was a heavy drinker.”
Lee Su chewed on a bean sprout and looked surprised.
Min Woo was the type who flaunted his drinking capacity as if it were his greatest achievement.
“Senior Min Woo started buying drinks for the juniors from the very beginning yesterday.”
“Yeah. You were next after me, right?”
“And near the end, they even called Seo Ji Ho over. And wow!”
Ae Ra paused dramatically, as if about to share an epic tale.
“At first, they were drinking soju from soju glasses, but then they suddenly switched to beer mugs and kept pouring soju into them. The mood got weird—they started taking turns like they were in some kind of drinking contest. I was shocked by Seo Ji Ho—he and Min Woo downed seventeen bottles of soju, and Ji Ho didn’t even blink once. Only Senior Min Woo passed out.”
Ae Ra took a sip of water and added,
“It looked like Seo Ji Ho was out to kill Min Woo with alcohol.”
Lee Su frowned faintly.
Was Ji Ho okay?
She laughed softly at her own unexpected worry.
Who was she to worry about him?
“Ha Jun said Ji Ho once drank ten bottles of soju and was totally fine. He drinks soju like water.”
“He sure can hold his liquor.”
“Right? How come he’s so good at drinking? Honestly, seeing Min Woo pass out yesterday felt incredibly satisfying. It was poetic justice. He made both you and me drink so much—I was weirdly thankful to Ji Ho. Hehe.”
“To you, everything Ji Ho does looks cool.”
“Even the way he drinks is so elegant! He sat so straight and drank so gracefully.”
At Ae Ra’s praise of Ji Ho, Lee Su burst into laughter.
“You’re hopeless!”
“Oh, right.”
“What now?”
“After drinking all that last night, Seo Ji Ho came up to me and asked if you’d contacted him.”
“Me?”
“Yeah! So that’s why I called you last night.”
“Oh.”
Late last night, Ae Ra had called just to ask if she’d gotten home safely and then hung up right away.
Lee Su had thought it was just something she’d done while drunk—something she’d never do sober.

She hadn’t expected there’d been a reason behind it.
“I called because you hadn’t replied, so he asked if I wasn’t curious whether you got home okay. At first, I thought maybe I was just drunk and overthinking it—but actually, think about it. Why would he care whether you got home safely? I didn’t think much of it either at the time.”
Ae Ra narrowed her eyes and tilted her head.
“Well… he knows I was really drunk last night. He was probably just looking out for me.”
Lee Su was just as confused, but felt she had to say something—and so spoke the most plausible excuse she could muster.
“No way. He went home alone last night—nobody took care of him. You weren’t the only one drunk; everyone who stayed till the end was way more wasted than you.”
Just as Ae Ra opened her mouth to say more, Lee Su cut her off.
“Hey, just eat your bean sprout soup already. You need to settle your stomach before afternoon class.”
Lee Su mixed her rice into the soup and scooped up a big spoonful.
Then, before Ae Ra could speak again, she launched into a loud discussion about their human biology assignment due next week.
**
Before she knew it, she’d walked all the way to the College of Business.
“Is he here right now?”
Yoo Mi had lost count of how many times she’d come here since enrolling.
But not once had the chance encounter she hoped for ever happened.
As she lingered, fiddling with her phone, the first-floor entrance door opened, and a group of people came out.
Scanning them intently, Yoo Mi spotted Ji Ho instantly.
“Ji Ho oppa!”
A delighted voice burst from Yoo Mi’s beaming smile.
