Regret With All Your Might (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 165
At his son’s words, the former ruler’s vision momentarily blurred.
Sovereign. A title that had once been his—but from the moment he reopened his eyes, it was no longer his. All the changes, and the deeply cherished moments he could never reclaim, rose in his mind one by one.
Yet the former ruler simply shrugged his shoulders once. Everything was something he had to endure—not by coveting this era, but by accepting his son’s shining age.
Thus, as a father, there was only one thing he needed to say.
“Your praise is too generous. It was you who strengthened Bicander far more than I ever did. Ed…”
But he couldn’t finish the sentence he’d begun so smoothly. Though he felt his son’s gaze upon him, waiting for the next words, the former ruler could do nothing but press his lips together.
The very words he’d spoken to emphasize his son’s era had pierced deep into his own heart.
His capable son had grown Bicander in merely ten years—ten years that would have been overwhelming even just to mature into adulthood alone. During that time, Edwin had traversed battlefields, protecting and strengthening Bicander.
Unable to bear looking at the son who had shouldered such immense weight alone, he clenched his fist pointlessly.
He never should have left that Emperor—that wretched man—alive…!
Just as pain, anguish, and regret swept across his trembling face, a large warmth settled over his hand.
“Don’t make that face, Father. True, when I first became head of Bicander, I was an unprepared sovereign…”
“An unprepared sovereign.” Edwin gently curved his eyes, brushing aside those grueling times.
“But thanks to that, I learned countless things firsthand—alongside Bicander’s splendid household.”
The former ruler followed his son’s gaze as he turned around, meeting the eyes of the many people standing there.

She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.
After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.
She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.
But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…
Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!

This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!
The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.
That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”
Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”
The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”
That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”
Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”
The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.
Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.
“She was originally a ‘she’!”
At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.
The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”

I asked for sweet And I got a chocolate fountain with sugar sprinkles (I’m happy)
All I cared about was the wedding and now it’s over… the story is kinda dragging out dare I say
I enjoyed the ride my only criticism is that in my opinion the ending kinda dragged on for a tad bit longer than it needed to be.
