The search for a way to seal the mythical creature was for the benefit of the male lead and the mythical creature. Of course, the snake would probably be furious, but that’s another story.

‘Dare a mere human like me make such a claim?’

I blamed it all on the silver snake and pulled out a picture book to take to Delma.

However, I had to stop in my tracks before reaching Delma.

“My lady, have you arrived?”

Delma approached me with a smile and followed my gaze towards the book I was carrying.

“Diane, hello.”

The blond boy gently smiled and greeted me warmly.

“The young master also came to read a book.”

At Delma’s words, Clemens smiled broadly.

“Yeah, don’t worry about me.”

Shouldn’t he be sitting a bit farther away if I don’t have to worry?

Feeling awkward, I chose a seat a little distance away from Clemens.

“First Outing of the Chicks, you’ve brought this storybook! It’s really fun, I’ll read it for you in an entertaining way!”

I clutched the hem of Delma’s dress beside me.

Delma abruptly left the library, saying, ‘Sophia seems to be running late.’

Shocked, I tried to hold onto Delma, but she said, ‘I’ll be right back!’ and left.

And so, I was left alone with Clemens in the library.

In the awkward silence, I focused solely on the storybook until I sneakily looked up.

‘He’s really engrossed.’

Unlike me, who was anxious about his every move, Clemens didn’t seem to care whether we were alone or not.

This allowed me to let my guard down a little.

‘Delma and Sophia will be back soon anyway.’

Just then, Clemens closed his book with a thud and scanned the surroundings.

‘Is he done reading?’

Just as I was about to breathe a sigh of relief, Clemens spoke in a clear voice.
“Ah, lost it again!”

“…….”

“What should I do?”

I glanced at him briefly. Clemens was staring straight ahead, one hand propped under his chin.

‘Is he talking to himself?’

Thinking that, I quietly placed the fairy tale book on my lap.

Thinking I should at least pretend to look at the pictures, I opened the book, only to hear another sigh that felt like the floor could collapse.

“Haah, what should I do now?”

“Losing it again, this is really a big problem…….”

Clemens let out a deep sigh.

Pretending not to notice was becoming impossible as the constant sighing was getting on my nerves.

‘No, no. He’s not saying this for me to hear.’

As annoying as it was, ignoring it seemed like the best approach.

I focused back on the fairy tale book.

And once again, the sound of a sigh reached my ears.

“Haaah…….”

I clenched my mouth shut and quietly closed the book.

When I looked up again, Clemens wasn’t looking my way.

The way he was only staring straight ahead really made it seem like he wasn’t concerned about me at all.

Unknowingly, I bit my lip and furrowed my brow.

‘Is he saying this for me to hear…?’

I pondered seriously but eventually concluded that he wasn’t.

‘Delma and Sophia will be coming soon anyway….’

“Haaah…….”

“…….”

“Is there no one to help me?”

“…….”

“Come to think of it, my injured hand seems to hurt more now…….”

At those words, I could no longer pretend not to hear and slammed the book shut.

“Um, Clemens.”

“Hm?”

“Is something bothering you?”

“Why? Do I look bothered?”

Despite his troubled expression just moments ago, a gentle smile now hung on Clemens’s lips.

Before I could finish, Clemens’s expression turned gravely serious.

As expected. I became serious as well.

Even though outwardly I had the undeveloped arms and legs of a child, inside, I knew everything there was to know.

“Will you listen if I tell you?”
