After that day, I tried my best to avoid leaving my room.

“Are you staying in your room again today?”

“Yeah, I don’t want to go out.”

“It’s strange. You haven’t gone for a walk in the last few days…”

“Are you not feeling well?”

Sophia touched my forehead with a worried expression. I didn’t want to make her worry, so I forced a big smile and said,

“I love playing with Delma and Sophia in my room the most!”

“Oh, really…!”

“Baby…! We also love playing with you the most!”

Sophia, moved by my sudden confession, was at a loss for words, and Delma hugged me tightly.

‘Well, it’s not a lie.’

While in Delma’s embrace, I secretly let out a deep sigh.

I couldn’t tell them that I was afraid to go out because I had accidentally hurt Clemens in the library the last time.

‘No one should know I went to the library.’

Fortunately, it seemed that Clemens was not talking about that day’s incident.

Separately, I had spent several nights worrying.

‘Really scary.’

In the original, Clemens had a personality of giving tit for tat.

Whether the other party had made a mistake or not, he would reciprocate any harm done to him.

Outwardly, Clemens said he was fine. But he was a character skilled at deceiving others, so I couldn’t easily trust him.

“You had planned to go to the library together last time, right? There are even more books if you go to the library yourself. You can choose and read them yourself.”

“There will be plenty of fairy tale books that you’ll like.”

My heart wavered at Sophia’s words.

‘I did leave behind the second volume of the Legend of the Dragon.’

I was so distracted that I had left my book behind.

“Going there will make you happy too.”

Seeing how they kept pushing me to go outside, it seemed they were worried about me staying indoors all the time.

‘Maybe it’ll be okay if we go to the library together?’

Even if I encountered Clemens again, he wouldn’t do anything to me in front of them.

“Are you really not going?”

At Sophia’s final offer, I pondered seriously.

‘I can’t be confined to my room forever.’

I was feeling stifled from staying in my room these past few days anyway.

I stood up from my seat, firmly clutching the bag I always carried.

“Alright, let’s go!”

Sophia and Delma chuckled at my determination.

“The library is this way.”

Last time, I arrived at the library quicker through the back stairs. But this time, Sophia led me a different way, so it took a bit longer.

“Tada! Here’s the library!”

Upon arriving, Delma swung the door wide open. Just as I was about to enter without a word, Delma spoke in a puzzled voice.

“You’re not surprised? I was shocked the first time I came.”

“Woah! So many books! Amazing!”

“Right! Have you ever seen this many books?”

Proud, Delma said.

“There are a lot of fairy tale books here!”

Delma led me to the fairy tale bookshelves.

I hadn’t noticed it when I came alone last time, but there was a separate space to sit and read next to it.

“Pick whatever book you’d like to read, and I’ll read it for you.”

“Then while Delma reads for you, I’ll go get some snacks.”

Sophia and Delma efficiently divided the tasks. After confirming Sophia had left the library, I moved toward the bookshelves.

“So should I pick a book while Delma stays here?”

“Yes, pick as many books as you want.”

After making sure Delma had settled, I hid behind the bookshelves.

‘Where was that book?’

It wasn’t hard to find. The book I had dropped last time was still lying on the floor.

‘Found it!’
I set my bag on the ground. Before I could even unzip it, the silver snake peeked its head out.

Startled, I quickly hid the book behind my back.

[Are the humans gone?]

“No, I’m going back to Delma, so don’t come out.”

[Really?]

As usual, the silver snake slid back into the bag. But not long after, its head popped out again.

[Something’s strange.]

“What is?”

[Other humans are frustrated because they can’t show me off.]

“?”

[Why do you seem to be hiding me?]

“Me, hiding? When?”

[Right now, you’re keeping me in the bag. I don’t want to meet other humans, but why are you hiding me?]

My eyes involuntarily darted around. I have to deny it for now.

“I’m not hiding you?”

[Really?]

I glanced down to see the silver snake staring back at me, its eyes slightly open.

“Uh! I’m just being careful because I think you dislike it.”

[…If that’s the case, talk later when the humans are gone.]

Fortunately, the silver snake seemed to take it lightly. It hid back in the bag.

Carefully, I took out the book I’d hidden behind my back, contemplating whether the snake would appear again.

‘Being a mythical creature, it can probably read?’

The second book of “Legends of the Dragon” described various ways to seal mythical creatures.

‘Maybe it’ll get angry if it sees this.’

I decided to read this book without letting the silver snake know.

Quietly, I slipped the book into a separate compartment of the bag. Although it pricked my conscience, I kept telling myself it was all for the sake of the silver snake.

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
