I tightly closed my mouth, watching them. I hadn’t expected to meet the twins here of all places.

I felt even more tense than when I had seen Clemens.

At least then, Sophia and Delma were by my side. But not now.

I was thoroughly alone, and there was no one who could restrain the twins.

Then one of the boys asked me first.

“Did you also come here looking for that snake?”

“……Snake?”

“They say it’s here, right? That it sells the Elixir of Life.”

I sighed. Poor silver snake; it had even caught the twins’ eyes.

‘If it’s the twins, they won’t give up easily.’

“Did you see it?”

The smiling boy asked me tenderly. I shook my head frantically.

“Is that so? Too bad.”

Even as he said that, I cautiously asked while wondering if a silver thread might be somewhere on the ground.

“Are you interested in immortality?”

“Huh? Hahaha! No?”

Apparently, my question amused him, and he laughed. The other boy coldly spoke.

“Be quiet. Do you want the whole area to know we’re here?”

“Aren’t you laughing? She asked us if we’re interested in immortality.”

The boy was still chuckling after finishing his sentence. It’s not like I believed that, either… How unfair.

“Then why?”

“Just curious. A snake that gives you a longer life is interesting, isn’t it?”

The boy who had been serious in front of Rebecca scanned the surroundings.

“We really have to go now.”

“Yeah, just a moment.”

The boy who had been standing in front of me extended his hand. I hadn’t realized that I had been sitting on the ground all this time.

The boy effortlessly helped me up and then added,

“Ah! Don’t tell Father you saw us, okay?”

The twins vanished just like that. They literally disappeared in the blink of an eye.

‘Did they use magic?’

I was left standing there, staring blankly, when I noticed Rebecca lying on the ground and was once again startled.

‘First, let’s get out of here.’

As I was about to retrace my steps, I heard a small coughing sound from a corner.

When I turned my head, the silver snake was dragging my bag towards me.

‘Silver snake!’

I hurriedly approached and gently lifted him up with both hands. The silver snake weakly opened and then closed his eyes again.

‘Why is he acting like this?’

“Silver snake, what’s wrong? Are you hurt?”
After tapping the silver snake a few times, it finally raised its head reluctantly.

[No.]

“So why are you like this? Huh? Are you hurt somewhere?”

[Yawn.]

‘Yawn?’

The silver snake’s mouth opened wide and then closed. Letting out a huge yawn, it coiled on my palm and drooped its head again.

[So sleepy.]

“……”

Snore, snore.

I heard a soft snoring sound. Completely drained, I blankly stared at the silver snake.

“Hey.”

[Snore], [Snore].

“You, you…”

Could it be that while this stupid deity was sleeping, I got abducted and that’s why this has happened!

“You idiot, wake up right now!”

Do you know how anxious I was? I thought you’d been turned into snake soup, so I rushed here!

Grabbing the snake’s neck and shaking it, a commotion erupted from behind.

“They couldn’t have gotten far, please calm down…!”

Bang!

Another loud noise resounded in my ears. Similar to when the twins appeared earlier, but much louder this time.

A crack formed in the building next to us that was otherwise fine. I hurriedly shoved the silver snake into a bag that was far away.

As I slung the bag over my shoulder, the ground shook once more.

“Ah, there they are!”

It was Phyllen’s voice. Following that voice, dark silhouettes gradually emerged from the fog surrounding us.

“Diane!”

The first to rush over was Clemens. Approaching me, Clemens’s hands gently grasped both of my cheeks.

“What happened, are you hurt?”

They must have realized I was missing because I took too long.

As I scrambled for words, Clemens flared up in anger.

“I told you to wait in the carriage! It’s dangerous to roam around here alone!”

Clemens rarely showed anger even in the original story. Startled by his unexpected display of emotion, I inhaled sharply.

‘Clemens is angry…’

“Diane.”

Next to him, the Duke, exuding an icy aura, appeared. A chill ran down my spine as if ice had been applied to the back of my neck.

‘They’re both angry.’

It was only natural. I had sneaked out of the carriage, causing them to mobilize many people just for me.

And our schedule might have been disrupted because of me.

‘That’s why I tried to come back as quickly and quietly as possible…’

I had heard the Duke hated schedule disruptions, and Clemens, his aide, would likely feel the same.

I quickly apologized to both.

“Sorry, did I make you guys late?”

“…What?”

“Do you have another appointment? Let’s go quickly.”

Clemens looked at me as if he had been slapped, utterly baffled. The next to speak was the Duke.

“Do you think we’re mad at you because of the schedule?”

Isn’t it? I rolled my eyes, seeking agreement from those around me. I looked at Phyllen, then Yan, and even Sophia.

But they all remained silent, like mute people who had eaten honey.

‘Why are they acting like this?’

“You, really…”

The Duke began to speak.

Drip.

The moment he opened his mouth, my nose tingled. Looking down at my feet, I saw a circular red stain spreading.

‘Uh…?’

I lifted my head again and blinked. A warm liquid trickled down from under my nose.

“Blood…”

“Diane!”

“My lady!”

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
