Received the Obsession of a Chaste Dark Lord (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 1
“His Imperial Majesty the Emperor, long live! Long live! Long live Emperor Lloyd!”
Finally, the coronation ceremony was held.
Among all the coronations of past emperors, it was unprecedentedly splendid.
I gazed at the long procession of the emperor stretching beyond the window, feeling an overwhelming surge within me.
We had finally done it.
It had been a long time and a difficult path, but Lloyd and I had at last achieved our long-cherished wish.
Everyone welcomed Lloyd’s ascension to the throne and eagerly offered him congratulations.
Even though a corner of their expressions held an unavoidable fear, what mattered was that this fear
was directed precisely at us.
So many things had happened to get this far.
I looked at my lover, who shone even from afar, and recalled the path we had walked.
The emperor who had always been an obstacle, my husband Leopric, who was the crown prince.
All those who opposed his becoming emperor, besides him, had either died, been injured, or been driven to the borders.
The central political circle had become the domain of those who swore unchanging loyalty to him.
They divided the wealth of those now dead and increased their power.
Lloyd had become an emperor with unprecedented powerful military forces and immense wealth.
No one would be able to easily defy him.
And behind all of this, there was me.
I, who believed Lloyd was the love of my life, and devoted everything I had to fulfill only what he desired.
Countless people, including those from my family, whose memories I could scarcely recall, had died at my feet.
All for the sole purpose of making him emperor.
And finally today, our long-cherished wish had come true.
I gripped the window frame tightly, feeling ecstasy spread through my entire body.
Now, only one thing remained.
To stand formally by his side.
I quietly watched Lloyd in the procession, then turned my head to look at the head maid of the imperial palace.
“When did Lloyd say he would come?”
“His Majesty said he would attend the banquet after today’s coronation and then come.”
“Is that so? Then, have you received any instructions about when my investiture ceremony will be?”
“……I have not yet heard anything regarding that.”
“Is that so?”
I could almost see Lloyd smiling brightly even from afar, and a smile formed on my lips.
Lately, he had been whining in my arms every day, saying he had a lot of work.
It was time to fill the vacant positions of the nobles driven out by this rebellion and reward those who had achieved great merits.
After planning to expel those still opposing Lloyd from central politics, it was necessary to recall suitable ones again.
But his face, when he said he was tired, was glowing more than ever before.
I found him so endearing that I could not bear it.
Long before my father’s coercion decided my marriage to the crown prince, I had loved him.
His smile always directed at me like sunshine, and him resembling the dark forest of night that I loved most.
That love had created everything and made everything possible.
“Inform me as soon as Lloyd returns. Tonight, I must celebrate him, so I need to prepare as well.”
“Yes, I will do so.”
“And tell the kitchen to send up some simple refreshments for dinner along with good quality wine. The 30-year-old wine I acquired from Botia not long ago. That should be fine.”
“I will inform the kitchen.”
I closed my eyes slightly and recalled the dream I had every night.
Him majestically wearing the emperor’s crown, and me smiling happily by his side.
Nothing stood in the way between us anymore.
No one thought it strange or looked upon us with contempt for being together.
That was the true final scene I envisioned, one that absolutely had to come true.
I had sacrificed myself, turning away from everyone for his sake.

Now it was time to be rewarded for everything.
I withdrew my gaze from the window and drew the curtains.
Just a little more ahead.
Now, truly just one more step.
[This is the timeline separator]The time Lloyd returned was late at night, nearly midnight.
Around the time the candles I had lit for him were almost burned out, and the room was gradually sinking into darkness.
I rushed into the arms of him, who looked a bit tired but still wore the sparkling imperial robes.
“Lloyd, how long I’ve been waiting. Have all the people left?”
“I had the palace attendants see everyone off properly. Weren’t you bored?”
“Mm, it’s fine. Today is the day our long-awaited dream came true, isn’t it?”
There had never been a day when waiting for him all day felt as joyful as today.
Lloyd always made me wait, and that waiting was always arduous, but today, just today, it was not.
I leaned into his embrace and inhaled with a happy face.
“We’ve arrived. We’ve truly arrived. We’re just one step away from the moment we’ve longed for.”
“Yes. That’s right, Amelia. Just one step ahead to the moment we’ve longed for.”
Lloyd gently stroked my hair and answered in a smiling voice.
I lifted my head, believing without doubt that his expression was filled with the same happiness as mine.
“Then, when will my investiture ceremony be……?”
But in the dark green eyes I met, for some reason, a different kind of joy from mine resided.
The kind that sent a chill down my spine.
I slowly blinked and stopped speaking, looking at him.
Then, Lloyd gently stroked my hair, lowered his head, and kissed my forehead.
“The investiture ceremony will be held soon. I’m the emperor after all; the seat beside me can’t remain empty for too long.”
Whispering softly and meeting my eyes again, in Lloyd’s eyes,
“So wait just a little, Amelia.”
As if nothing had happened, they were filled only with affection toward me.
With just that gaze, I felt relieved and nestled back into his arms.
Foolishly.
“You have to tell me when. That way, I can contact the boutique to fit one of the dresses I had made before. I need to choose jewelry too. It’s the first day I stand officially by your side, so I want to look the most beautiful and splendid.”
Even as I chattered excitedly, Lloyd gave no reply.
He only gazed at me blankly.
A somewhat unreadable expression made a slight unease creep in, but……
What did it matter.
Today was a joyful day.
It was not the day I desperately struggled to stand by the crown prince’s side while being with him.
“I sent the decorations and foods for the grand banquet hall that day to the head maid; did you happen to see them?”
I simply hugged Lloyd tightly and talked about the/EC investiture ceremony.
Unaware that harshness was seeping into his eyes as he quietly looked down at me.
“Actually, that’s why I had something to say, Mel.”
“Oh? Was there something you didn’t like?”
“Hm, first, there’s something I want to show you.”
Lloyd smiled enchantingly and took my hand.
I smiled back and followed where he led.
The place he took me was the terrace beyond the window.
When was it again.
His voice suddenly came to mind, saying this was the room in the palace with the best view of the capital.
Standing on the terrace, my heart fluttered at the thought that we would rule this place together from now on.
I held his hand tightly and smiled broadly.
“What do you want to show me, Lloyd?”

“Just. I wanted to show you the empire I will rule from now on.”
He answered my question with a loving smile.
Still holding my hand, he stepped closer to the terrace and positioned me in front of the railing.
Then he circled behind me as if embracing me.
“When I entered the imperial palace. Do you know why I had you stay here, Mel?”
“Hm, because the view is the best in the palace?”
“Well, of course, that’s part of it.”
Lloyd’s laughter faintly flowed by my ear.
While thinking his embrace was comfortable, I also tried to suppress the lingering unease and listened to his words.
The place I was staying was the room at the very top of the main palace.
The view was good, but the room was hard to find, and there were no other rooms on the way up here.
It was a place where it wouldn’t be strange if someone were confined here.
I wasn’t unaware of that fact, but I trusted Lloyd and believed his words.
‘You worked hard dealing with Leopric, Mel. But he was my brother and your husband, so people will think it strange. For now, just focus on the investiture ceremony here.’
His words that it wouldn’t look good for me, the wife of the deceased crown prince, to step forward were also true.
I smiled awkwardly and once again pushed down the suspicions I had occasionally heard.
“What are you trying to say, Lloyd?”
“Hm, just.”
In the empire I will rule, you won’t be there.
That was the moment.
It was when an unexpected strong force pushed my back.
Before I could even turn around, I lost my balance and staggered, collapsing against the railing.
And.
“……Lloyd!”
As if someone had deliberately cut it, the railing snapped with a crack.
Losing balance and leaning on it, my body tilted in an instant.
In the moment I nearly plummeted straight down, I desperately grabbed the broken railing.
“……Hck!”
The iron railing creaked and groaned, shaking uneasily.
As it was high up, the wind blew fiercely.
I trembled and looked at Lloyd.
Even then, foolishly unable to abandon my faith in him.
But Lloyd only smiled at me like that.
In a way that sent goosebumps all over my body, chilling and eerie.
“I’ve always wanted to do this, Mel. Finally, it’s happening.”
“What do you mean, Lloyd. What do you mean!”
Lloyd slowly bent his legs to sit and looked at me.
The moment I thought I would be devoured by that goosebump-inducing gaze.
“What do you mean, Amelia. It means you’re dying here today.”
With a still gentle, but now unreadable expression to me, he said that.
“You’re too annoying.”
“……!”
“I’m grateful you got me this far, but if I keep you by my side, my dead brother’s ghost will haunt me until I die.”
“What, what are you saying…….”
“You didn’t really think it was love, did you? I thought you were at least a bit smart.”
Well, so you and your family will all be ruined.
He smiled.
With the face I had loved, smiling in an expression I didn’t know.
Ah, no. Is that his real face?
“How could you……! Do you think you can kill me so easily?”
ads
“Death is originally this futile and easy.”
It’s over now, Amelia.
A calmly settled voice.
A name called softly as if soothing.
A gaze softly lowered.
A hollow laugh escaped.
The same lies over and over.
The same smile over and over.
Even though there was nothing I hadn’t loved, I had become someone who had never loved anything.
“I don’t want to do this either. But you know it too. As long as you’re here, the Reinhardt imperial family can’t be forgotten by the people.”
I saw Lloyd with a hypocritical face, drooping the corners of his eyes.
Strength gradually left the arm holding the railing.
“Someday, the blood on your hands…… will come looking for you.”
“Is that a threat now? Quite romantic, Mel.”
With Lloyd’s mocking smile as the last thing, I fell straight down.
After that, everything seemed to flow slowly.
Lloyd looking down at me falling, and the windows of the main palace passing by quickly.
Thoughts were fleeting.
Soon, pain like my whole body shattering poured down.
The head sticking out beyond the terrace still seemed to be looking down at me.
In the increasingly blurring vision, only faint afterimages were caught, but that was enough.
Even in death, I curse you, Lloyd.
Strength gradually left my moving lips.
The gradually blurring vision grew darker and darker.
‘Are you confident you won’t regret it?’
In the final moment when I felt my breath fading.
Ironically, my husband’s last words came to mind.
He had asked if I was confident I wouldn’t regret whatever was at the end of the path I was taking.
At that time, I hadn’t given any answer and just looked at him.
Not only because I couldn’t understand the true intent of the question he asked, but also because I couldn’t comprehend the worry uttered by someone dying.
But now, I felt like I could answer.
Over the few remaining breaths I exhaled with difficulty, the illusion of Leopric was drawn.
Exhaling my fading last breath, I answered.
“If there is a god…….”
I would want to turn back time.
And that was the last moment I remembered.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
