Rather Than Be Taken, I Will Take (12 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 112
News arrived directly from the capital via messenger bird.
Just a few days ago, without Aden—who had failed to respond to the summons—present, the trial concluded, and he was officially declared the true culprit behind the murders of Kedilen and Viscount Rodic Pell.
The court sentenced him to death, the maximum penalty. Accordingly, the imperial court publicly announced its intention to retrieve Aden from Duke Havertz through formal extradition procedures.
Beresa, who had already coordinated with Neser, delayed the imperial court’s stance by requesting more time.
Because buying time mattered more than an immediate declaration of war.
However, contrary to their plans, the imperial court pressed Duke Havertz for a swift decision and ultimately declared it would dispatch investigators to retrieve Aden personally.
In response, Havertz announced his refusal to allow the investigators entry.
That was the situation just three or four days ago. The messenger bird that arrived now carried the imperial court’s ultimatum.
The proceedings had moved far faster than anticipated.
“We’ll need to bring back His Grace.”
Without Aden, they couldn’t prepare for war. At Neser’s suggestion—born from anxiety and worry—Beresa bit her lip.
Events were unfolding quicker than she’d expected.
At this rate, a declaration of war could come within a week at the latest, and the order to commence hostilities might follow in two weeks.
“Please give us just a little more time.”
“But if war breaks out like this…”
Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!
The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.

Do you dare?
Su Heng assists a divine lord in his cultivation, aiming to make him experience all the sufferings of love, so that he can attain the Great Dao.
Only after being chased down from the heavens by the divine lord, confined and completely possessed by him, does she realize how successful she has been.
