“Could you please not make that awful sound? Why did the conversation suddenly jump like that?”

I asked, scowling in disgust, but the reply I got was something to behold.

“It’s just that you seem to regard me as exceptionally special.”

“…On what grounds do you even think that?”

Hyeol Jung Hyuk puffed out his chest boastfully—it was utterly ridiculous. What was sad was how well that ridiculous behavior suited him. Far from looking pathetic, he only appeared cheerful and amusing.

‘Cheerful, my foot! He’s infuriating. I absolutely refuse to accept this.’

Just as I rubbed my eyes—feeling as if I were hallucinating—with my sleeve, Hyeol Jung Hyuk poked my forehead with his index finger and asked,

“Think about it. Is there anyone else you talk to as comfortably as you do with me?”
