“Don’t swallow it. It’s definitely a defective food.”

The voice was cheerful, but at that moment, various emotions surged.

I hugged Baekho tightly, and tears fell on Baekho’s fluffy fur.

Baekho, realizing that I shed tears, was startled and couldn’t move.

[Dash] Oh, no! I didn’t mean that I would really eat you! Why are you scared of such words?

“I’m not scared.”

[Dash] But why are you crying like a sniveling child? Come on, don’t cry, don’t!

Although Baekho said it threateningly, the feeling of concern for me was conveyed vividly, and instead of stopping, tears flowed even more intensely.

I played around with Baekho to my heart’s content.

“All because Baekho-nim is not by my side! It’s all Baekho-nim’s fault!”

[Dash] Why blame me so harshly! You don’t even care about me.

“I absolutely don’t. I depend on Baekho-nim so much!”

Even though Baekho looked disgusted, he kindly comforted me. Of course, he didn’t forget to nag at me like a scolding grandmother.

[Dash] Oh, you troublemaker. Why endure it like a fool? That’s why it’s not good to hold back like this.

It wasn’t necessary to cry this much. Just at this moment, various worries rushed in, and tears overflowed.

After crying to my heart’s content until my eyes swelled, I sniffled quietly. Baekho, pressing my forehead with his soft front paw, asked.

[Dash] So now tell me the truth. Why are you crying so much after being soaked?

I pressed my puffy eyes with my fingers and, with difficulty, opened my mouth.

“Baekho-nim, if I unintentionally made someone unhappy, what should I do?”

In response to my question, Baekho snorted.

[Dash] Worried about something unnecessary because there’s nothing to worry about. Judging by your ridiculous question.

“Just don’t say that.”

For a moment, Baekho, who was fiddling with his beard with his small front paw, said something very divine.

[Dash] You worry because something you did with good intentions turned out to be unfortunate. It was beyond your ability. So don’t worry.

“…….”

Something beyond my ability.

That statement also weighed heavily on my heart.

The group that seemed to stay in the village for a while set off towards Danmoksega. The sight of Danmokchang lying on a makeshift bed and moving was vividly visible even from a distance far from the village.

Someone in the martial world was watching that scene. It was the one who used to be under Danmokso and defected to the Blood Sect.

He looked at Danmokchang, and his lips twisted.

‘Anyway, he’s just a half-penny. Even if I give him a chance, he can’t use it properly.’
Sending Danmokchang secretly to the lair of Hyuljoonghyuk was not usually undertaken without assuming some risk. As such, Danmokchang had to deliver results. Whether it was rescuing Jegalyeon and gaining fame in the martial world or, at the very least, winning Jegalyeon’s heart.

However, judging by the way things were turning out, Danmokchang seemed to be neither here nor there. With a bitter taste in his mouth, he coldly wrote a frontline report to Danmoksoo.

[Serious injury. Possibility of recovery.]

Regardless of how it happened, he got injured while trying to save me, and Jegalsega wouldn’t just keep quiet as if nothing happened.

‘I wish he did something good for once. That way, I could return to Danmoksega.’

Life in the Blood Sect was free, and there was the advantage of easily obtaining all the wicked ingredients needed for summoning demons.

But still, an instinctive aversion crept in. The cult leader worshiping as if the leader were a god, and the madness of self-harm without hesitation if necessary.

It was when the man turned away after sending the frontline report. Suddenly, a large hand grabbed his throat.

“Crack!”

The grip was so strong that I thought my eyeballs would pop out. In an instant, the man, with a reddened face, looked at the man who grabbed his throat.

It was none other than the Blood Sect leader, Hyuljoonghyuk.

“L-Leader…”

Why was he here, and what did he mean by attacking him?

As he gasped for breath, his lips pursed, Hyuljoonghyuk chuckled and replied.

“I didn’t expect there to be a rat among my family.”

At that moment, the man instinctively realized. Hyuljoonghyuk had noticed that he was the one who secretly sent Danmokchang to the Blood Sect.

‘This damn it!’

This vague master was absolutely no help.

His body, which seemed to die instantly, writhed like a jellyfish out of water, and veins bulged on his forehead as if they were about to burst. Hyuljoonghyuk still chuckled, not noticing his appearance.

“Yeah, how should I kill you to spread the rumor that I killed you well.”

“Crack!”

Just die like this!

It was when the whites of the man’s eyes completely rolled over. Hyuljoonghyuk suddenly released his grip on the man’s chin and hand. The man, making a loud noise, fell to the ground.

Gasping for breath, he gruesomely crushed his forehead on the ground, and then, flat as a pancake, he lay down. And, with a loud voice, he begged Hyuljoonghyuk.

“P-Please spare me! I will tell you everything I know!”

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
