“I’m a simple person, but oddly enough, when I get involved with that steamed bun, things get complicated.”
What I want, I have. What I want to steal, I steal. What I want to kill, I kill.
Hyuljung Hyuk’s life was always simple. Even the most fundamental human appetite undergoes the simplest cooking process.
But facing Jegalyeon, that simplicity felt all messed up.
“It’s mine, so I can just kick them all out.”
Just putting it away so no one can eat it would suffice. So what if it looks a little petty? His word was the law of the Blood Religion.
But strangely, in front of Jegalyeon, he couldn’t act like that. Hyuljung Hyuk put his hand on his waist and sighed. There was only one reason.
“It’s all because of that mischievous steamed bun.”
That steamed bun was smiling as if its joy was to feed others, how could he tell it to disappear?
So Hyuljung Hyuk, who was about to abandon Jegalyeon’s restaurant(?), quickly changed his mind again.
“No, but do those guys know who they are, and why is that woman smiling weakly?”
Like members of the Blood Religion, they were devoid of blood or tears, and they had an incredible number of stories. Thin women like Jegalyeon were guys who could send to the other world in an instant.
“I’m not taking away the joy of the steamed bun, I’m protecting the steamed bun. What to do if the side bursts and red bean paste flows out?”
Thinking that, Hyuljung Hyuk kicked out everyone who had gathered three by three at the door. And spoke to Jegalyeon with a strange sense of satisfaction that only he could interfere with Jegalyeon.
“Rest well today, steamed bun.”
He thought she would surely get angry, saying, “Don’t call me a steamed bun!” But,
“Yes.”
Jegalyeon obediently nodded. Hyuljung Hyuk tilted his head.
“It feels different than usual?”
But he couldn’t find a reason. Jegalyeon went to take a nap since she had become free, so Hyuljung Hyuk was pushed out.
Walking slowly down the empty corridor, Hyuljung Hyuk thought of Jegalyeon.
“Is she tired? But she does look weak. Her wrists look like they’d break if gripped tightly, and her waist is so thin it could be lifted with one arm.”
He thought of her slender body like a birch branch and laughed.
“Why are her cheeks so plump while she’s as skinny as a tree branch?”
Her white and soft cheeks looked like freshly steamed buns, so he kept poking them with his fingers, even though he knew she didn’t like it.
That mischievous steamed bun. Hyuljung Hyuk put his hands behind his head, whistling.
“I should feed her nourishing food. I need to put on a little more weight so I can relax…”
His steps stopped suddenly. He realized that his thoughts were contradictory.
“Relax?”
Was it even possible to feel comfortable with her? She was kidnapped, wasn’t she?
Normally, people cry and make a fuss, or lie down like a corpse, refusing food and drink. But Jegalyeon was different.
“She’s been kidnapped, but she’s living obediently. She laughs well, talks well, does what she wants.”
As if she wasn’t kidnapped at all.
In that case, there could only be two reasons. Either she had resigned herself or was feigning complacency while looking for a chance to escape.
His mind quickly leaned toward the latter. But Hyuljung Hyuk shook his head.
“She must think it’s better to stay by my side.”
That’s why she kindly prepared meals and smiled at his subordinates. Not thinking of it as a place to escape, but as a place to stay.
“That’s it. I’m sure.”
He repeated several times. Hyuljung Hyuk looked back. He saw the door to the room where Jegalyeon was staying.
He knew. By constantly reassuring himself at this point, he already knew that he didn’t trust her.
And his intuition had never been wrong since he was born.
“I still want to believe.”
Hyul Jung Hyuk chuckled, and a warrior guarding Je Gal Yeon’s door came to his side.
He thought there was only one Je Gal Yeon, but in fact, there were more. They just weren’t revealing themselves.
“Hide yourselves.”
Though puzzled, the warriors hid beside their companions.
Hyul Jung Hyuk did the same. He stood in a dark shadow of the corridor, slowly counting to 100. If Je Gal Yeon didn’t come out by the time he reached 100, he planned to open the door himself.
However, Je Gal Yeon opened the door and ran away like a squirrel even before he counted to 100.
“To run away.”
Hyul Jung Hyuk felt a profound betrayal at the sight.
“Even after smiling like that.”
And he was shocked. Betrayal was only felt when there had been expectations. But she and he were not on those terms.
No, he shouldn’t have expected anything from anyone to begin with. He was a noble sect leader, and trust in others was tantamount to death.
“But why is this woman different?”
As he struck the back of the fleeing woman’s neck, she fell with almost comedic ease.
Trying to curl up on the ground, Hyul Jung Hyuk caught her lightly.
Her waist was so slender that it easily fit within his arm. Her pale neck peeking out from her disheveled black hair strangely drew his gaze.
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
