Postponing Divorce (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 98
“What did you say?”
The voice, clearer than just a moment ago, belonged to Assistant Manager Jung.
Chae Yoon walked toward the direction of the voice, silencing the vibration in her hand.
“He kept saying it was a mistake, but if mistakes happen this often, that itself is your actual skill level. I mean, I did admit it was my fault and kept apologizing, right? But then he should’ve let it go at some point. Instead, this lunatic suddenly said he didn’t understand how the performance reviews ended up the way they did and that he needed to call the team leader—the previous team’s team leader.”
The incident that had taken place in Jae Oh’s office spilled effortlessly from Assistant Manager Jung’s lips.
“Anyway, I thought he was just saying that because he disliked me, but that crazy bastard actually made the call. Yeah, he really did. And then he flat-out asked, ‘Does Jeong Ga Kyung always work this poorly?’ Ugh, seriously—what the hell kind of nonsense is that?”
As if reliving the moment, Assistant Manager Jung stomped her foot slightly and let out an irritated groan.
“Done? You call that done? While saying that, he kept grilling the team leader right in front of me about how someone in such poor form could possibly receive that kind of performance review. Seriously… you should’ve seen it. In the end, he hung up saying he’d initiate a thorough audit of the entire performance review process. That vicious bastard. No wonder he became managing director at that age.”
Having now heard how a minor employee mistake could spiral into a company-wide audit, Chae Yoon let out a sigh.
So that’s why she’d stayed so long—it was because of this.
“Her face? Forget it. I don’t even want to see that face anymore. Honestly, I feel sorry for Song Chae Yoon, having to live with her. As if she treats her well—where’s that temper gonna go? …Right? Exactly. Rumors’ll spread like wildfire that she’s incompetent, and they’ll blame me for triggering the audit. Ugh, I don’t care anymore. I’ll either transfer or just get out of here soon.”
The conversation continued with things Chae Yoon no longer needed to hear.
She quietly turned around and entered a nearby meeting room. Worried Assistant Manager Jung might pass by and see her, she lowered all the blinds before checking Kyeong Hee’s message.
Although she wasn’t sure what Kyeong Hee wanted to say, Chae Yoon steeled herself against the tension rising at just the sight of her name and called her.
The dial tone cut off almost immediately.

She turned around upon hearing the noise.
He looked up at her, his eyebrows drooping: “My hand… has no strength.”
“Shall I… feed you?” she asked tentatively.
He opened his mouth cheerfully: “Ah—”
Thinking she was drowning, he jumped in without hesitation to save her, but nearly drowned himself. In the end, it was she who swam over to rescue him, giving him air underwater.
After emerging from the water, his ear tips turned red. He lightly brushed his cheek, tucking his sideburns behind his ear, revealing delicate, pink-tinged ear tips. He lowered his gaze, too embarrassed to look at her.
