Sunlight poured through the transparent glass window, glinting brightly.

Ho Yeon, seated with her back to the bright sunlight and sipping coffee, checked the message she’d received from In Hye.

“Here’s Director Sangmu’s schedule for today.”

Today was the day the man was supposed to meet Song Chae Yoon.

The appointment was set for 2 p.m. at a café.

After mulling over the information the man had given her, Ho Yeon checked Jae Oh’s schedule, which was blocked off for 2 p.m.

“14:00 – Meeting with CEO of Lee Yoon Construction, Location: Lee Yoon Construction Head Office”

An unpleasant memory surfaced.

Guessing they’d probably hold a meeting about the construction company there, the pleased curve of her lips twisted sourly.

“What a damn lousy schedule.”

Muttering discontentedly, Ho Yeon pinpointed the location of the café where the man and Chae Yoon were meeting.

The café they’d agreed on was right next to the Lee Yoon Construction head office.

“Is this why he said he couldn’t come together with her?”

Ho Yeon had previously messaged the man, asking whether Song Chae Yoon had readily suggested meeting alone.

[She didn’t give a straight answer, but when I jokingly asked if that secretary might come along again even on the meeting day, he only replied that she had other work and couldn’t accompany him. I didn’t press further about who he’d be with, worried it might seem strange. But I felt pretty sure she’d be coming alone.]
