The two, who had left work straight from the courthouse and even had a slightly early dinner, came to Chae Yoon’s house.

Once there, they peeled and ate fruit, drank fragrant tea, chatted cozily, and spent a quiet, simple time together.

Up to this point, both Chae Yoon’s mood and Jae Oh’s mood were good.

But as the night deepened, a problem arose.

It was a clash of opinions: Jae Oh saying he couldn’t possibly go home when she had injured her wrist, and Chae Yoon insisting it had nothing to do with him and telling him to leave quickly.

“I’ll stay just until your wrist gets better, I told you.”

“That’s why I’m saying my wrist is fine. I took medicine, and since it’s my left hand I rarely use it, so stop worrying and go home already.”

Jae Oh stared at Chae Yoon as if he couldn’t understand why she was so desperate to send him away.

Chae Yoon knew what his eyes were saying but pretended not to and gently pushed his body while urging him.

“Grandfather will worry. Hurry up.”

“What kind of nonsense is that.”

Jae Oh grumbled in response and stubbornly held his ground with an expression that screamed he would rather die than leave.

At that, strength entered Chae Yoon’s eyes.

She just silently stared at him, and feeling the sharp gaze, a flash of “oh no” crossed Jae Oh’s face.

Rolling only his eyes to glance furtively down at Chae Yoon, the moment their eyes met, Jae Oh quickly nodded.
