In her field of view, Ho Yeon, who had addressed Jae Oh as “Jae Oh,” walked past Woo Jong and approached where Jae Oh was.
She was in the place where the man she had set her sights on worked. Entering there for the first time, her heart began to race uncontrollably.
Ho Yeon slowly walked around, examining the interior of Jae Oh’s office.
Then, she felt a gaze upon her.
Her whole body tingled under that gaze.
While I’m not looking at you, you’re looking at me.
The mere realization of this fact sent a thrill through her, making her heart race and breath hitch.
Walking, feeling the rapid beating of her heart, Ho Yeon’s steps halted.
Standing right in front of Jae Oh’s desk, she lowered her gaze to take in the sight of the man she had so wanted to see.
Truly, his face and physique were breathtaking.

When she had secretly followed him, she had thought she’d be content just being close to him. But now that they were this close, she yearned to be enveloped in his broad chest.
Meeting his gaze, Ho Yeon gently lifted the corners of her lips and said,
“Don’t you remember me yet?”
Jae Oh remained silent.
Smiling as if she had expected that, Ho Yeon began to retrieve a business card from her bag.
Just then, a deep, cold voice resonated.
“Throw her out.”
Woo Jong was about to act on Jae Oh’s command when
“Secretary,”
Ho Yeon, holding out her business card, addressed Woo Jong.

“Look at this and decide.”
The words visible to Woo Jong were ‘Kwon Ho Yeon, Planning Team Leader at Jo Young Corporation.’
After reading the text on the business card, Woo Jong accepted it. Seeing this, Ho Yeon slightly smiled and added,
“Oh, one more thing. My father is currently on his way to meet Chairman Han.”
Her statement, implying it wouldn’t be wise to rashly throw her out, continued,
“While superiors may act as they please, it’s the duty of subordinates to serve such superiors well.”
In response to her subtle warning, Woo Jong looked at Jae Oh.
Jae Oh, by then, had picked up an internal phone.
‘I wonder if he’s calling the security team.’
In the midst of wondering who Jae Oh’s call was to, Ho Yeon spoke to him.
“I came here because of the conversation I had with my father this morning. I think he was quite upset at the time and went to see the chairman because…”

“Secretary Kim.”
Interrupting Ho Yeon, Jae Oh commanded,
“Why haven’t you removed her yet?”
Woo Jong’s gaze went to the phone in Jae Oh’s hand.
Ah, perhaps he hadn’t called the security team.
Although curious about who he might have called, Woo Jong’s priority was to escort Ho Yeon out and he attempted to contact the security team.
“Han Jae Oh. You really…”
Jae Oh’s gaze shifted to Ho Yeon.
She had a vaguely familiar face.
However, he had no specific memory of where they might have met, nor any interest in how she knew him or what she wanted to say. So, Jae Oh remarked,

“I don’t care if your father goes to see the chairman or anyone else, but if he decides to come here, relay this message to him.”
Ho Yeon was taken aback by his next words.
“Tell him to ensure he contacts us before coming if he doesn’t want to see you being kicked out unceremoniously.”
With irritation evident in his eyes, Jae Oh shifted his gaze away from Ho Yeon.
Feeling his gaze moving away, Ho Yeon bit the inside of her lip.
She was aware of his penchant for not listening and his rudeness.
However, even given that, there had been an incident in the morning that had upset her father. Since she had come all the way here personally because of that, she expected him to give her some attention.
But how could he dismiss her like this?
Seeing Jae Oh, more resolute than she had anticipated, Ho Yeon’s expression turned somewhat sorrowful.
“Why won’t you even try to listen to what someone has to…”

“Hey.”
A harsh voice cut off Ho Yeon’s words.
Staring at Ho Yeon with an even colder demeanor than before, Jae Oh lightly tapped the phone he was holding and said,
“Don’t you see?”
The implication was that she should stop disturbing his work.
But Ho Yeon didn’t want to leave things as they were.
She hadn’t come unprepared.
“……”
Ho Yeon, intently gazing at Jae Oh who was glaring sharply back at her, placed the documents she was holding onto his desk.
She made a gesture as if urging him to check them, but without even giving the documents a glance, Jae Oh spoke,
“Seems you’re insistent on discussing things right here since you haven’t left.”

A puzzled look passed over Ho Yeon’s eyes.
‘Talk? What talk?’
Her curiosity piqued, Ho Yeon fixed her gaze on the phone Jae Oh was holding.
Realizing where her gaze was focused, Jae Oh continued,
“There’s a woman here, who barged in without an appointment while I was working. She claims to be the daughter of Jo Young Group’s Chairman.”
Woo Jong, who was just about to report that he had called the security team, stopped in his tracks.
If Jae Oh spoke like this without muting the call or covering the bottom part of the phone, his words would surely be impactful.
A soft sigh escaped from Woo Jong’s lips.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
