Chae Yoon left, and Jae Oh, left alone in the empty meeting room, couldn’t recover his senses for a long time.
It was because of Chae Yoon’s confession that kept surfacing in his mind.
Closing his eyes, Jae Oh’s view was constantly filled with the sight of her confessing through her tears.
A deep sigh hung at the end of his welldefined nose.
‘Song Chae Yoon likes me.’
It was a premise he had never considered before.
[I accepted your proposal to marry me because I liked you, knowing you didn’t feel the same about me.]
When Chae Yoon readily agreed to his proposal, he didn’t feel anything strange.
He just thought she agreed to marry him because she wanted someone to rely on, rather than living alone after both their parents passed away. He thought the reason for keeping the marriage for 3 years was the same.
However, Chae Yoon’s decisions, which he had so far considered lightly, all came from her feelings for him.
Could this even be possible.
“Ha, it can’t be.”
Jae Oh denied reality for a moment, saying it couldn’t be. It was because he had a feeling that he had to. Some sort of a defense mechanism, if you will.
However, this defense mechanism was useless in front of Chae Yoon, who confessed while looking at him straight.
[I liked you a lot.]
There wasn’t a hint of hesitation.
[So, please. Please…… let’s end it here.]
Her plea to end it, her voice and expression full of desperation, made it impossible for Jae Oh to think that Chae Yoon was lying.
As his denying mind kept breaking down, the fact that Chae Yoon liked him was engraved clearly in his mind.
At that moment, his tangled mind calmly settled down. The defense mechanism of denial from a while ago had flown away somewhere and was nowhere to be found.

Focus returned to his blankly blinking eyes.
Now able to make some rational judgments, Jae Oh mulled over Chae Yoon’s confession word by word.
[I like… you…]
When he heard she liked him, he was so surprised that he was stunned. He wasn’t able to process what Chae Yoon was saying, but it was not the case now that he regained his composure.
Strangely, he felt calm. More precisely, the anger and confusion he felt right after hearing about the divorce disappeared at once.
Perhaps because of this, Jae Oh had a feeling that he would be able to sort out the feelings he had been experiencing for the month when he and Chae Yoon were apart.
((()))
Before Chae Yoon left home, during our conversation, Chae Yoon said,
[I wanted to experience a normal relationship like my friends and if I find someone I truly love… I suggested divorce because I want to get married in the future.]
Chae Yoon’s thoughts startled me, but what was even more surprising was how I responded to her words.
Surprisingly, I wanted to be the ‘person she truly loved’ that Chae Yoon was talking about.
I was momentarily flustered by the impulsive thoughts that arose without going through the process of thinking, but there was not enough time to find the cause. The thought of needing to catch Chae Yoon dominated and I blurted out,
“Let’s do that with me.”
If I could just catch her, if she would just let herself be caught by me, I believed that everything else could be resolved gradually. However, Chae Yoon did not let herself be caught.
On the contrary, she accurately pointed out the reason for her confusion, and I couldn’t break Chae Yoon’s stubbornness about wanting to leave the house. What Chae Yoon was saying was not wrong.
“It will be okay after a little while.”
I thought that everything would be okay, just like Chae Yoon said. That after this period, I could return to my normal life. So I thought I should bear it, but my mind could hardly find stability.

On the contrary, I had to experience the vague anxiety I felt on the day when Chae Yoon, who was increasingly on my mind, stayed out overnight.
The seemingly irresolvable anxiety led to all sorts of thoughts.
When will I have to keep going like this, the situation does not seem to get any better with time, and even disgusting thoughts of going to Chae Yoon and saying that I can’t give her a divorce came up.
‘Wow, this is really the worst.’
Was I always this pathetic? Isn’t this a bit too much?
I, Jae Oh, was frustrated with myself and wanted to overcome it somehow.
My life would not be ruined just because there is no Song Chae Yoon.
If I hold on and endure, there will definitely be a time when things get better.
Despite making this tough resolution, the time passed was wasted on the sight of Chae Yoon, who I saw after a month.
The moment I saw Chae Yoon’s face, I did not remember any of the resolutions or thoughts I had made so far. The only thing Jae Oh had to admit was that he wanted to run to Chae Yoon.
I had missed Chae Yoon much more than I thought, and the emptiness I felt in her absence could not be filled by anyone other than Song Chae Yoon.
When I accepted my feelings, my interest in Chae Yoon grew like a snowball under the pretext of ‘worry’.

I was worried about her slim figure, but my longing to see her was greater.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
