The mage turned his head toward the annex storeroom, fixed his gaze on a spot, and let out a soft chuckle.

“You should go now.”

“Go?”

The Empress stared incredulously at the mage, who spoke indifferently while still keeping his eyes on the annex storeroom.

No matter how powerful a mage he was, she was still the Empress.

“I can’t just let this happen. Acting so unilaterally like this is unacceptable. I’ve risked everything—”

As a low murmur escaped the mage and flames began to flicker in his hand, the Empress instantly clamped her mouth shut, her face pale with fear.
