Considering they were going to hang out, Alicia nodded, thinking that it could be a date.

“What should you wear, Miss?”

As the maid opened the wardrobe, Alicia stared in surprise.

“Where did all these clothes come from?”

“The Duchess sends them over whenever she thinks of it. Especially now that you’re staying here more often. I thought you knew?”

“No, I didn’t. You never mentioned it.”

Since there was no word, she had never thought to look in the dressing room.

Last time, the maid had naturally handed her a nightgown, and now it was filled with clothes.

While grateful, it was a bit overwhelming.

‘How did she know my size… Ah, because of the palace tea party attire.’

“It might be hot. So, it would be best to wear something cool.”

“Where are we going?”

“Ay, it would be no fun if I told you. Hear it from the Count himself.”

“Ah.”

Alicia nodded.

He had said confidently to wait as he prepared something, and it seemed he was indeed planning something.

“This dress looks good.”

“This one?”

“Yes. It’s cool, isn’t it?”

“It is, but this is a bit, no. It’s pretty.”

With some help, Alicia changed clothes and stood in front of the mirror.

The dress was designed to expose the chest area, something Alicia would never wear ordinarily.

“It looks cool and pretty.”

Alicia looked at herself in the mirror with an awkward smile. She was still conscious of the exposed chest area, but she held her upper body upright and straightened her posture.

“Now, take this hat too. The weather is good today, so the sun might be strong. And just in case, it would be good to take this shawl.”

“Thank you.”

“Let’s go. The Count is waiting.”

Still feeling a bit awkward, Alicia draped the shawl around her shoulders and descended to the first floor with the maid.

“Shall we go?”

Alicia lightly placed her hand on Eric’s outstretched one.

“Where are we going?”

“Just follow me.”

Eric laughed.

He had made a hurried request, so he was worried if he was adequately prepared, but he decided to worry about that later.

“Have a good trip.”

With the farewell of the butler and the maid, they set off.

“Wow.”

Alicia exclaimed in admiration as she looked out the carriage window.

The lake and its surrounding scenery that spread out beyond the window were beautiful.

The sun’s reflection made the water surface shimmer.

“I didn’t know there was such a place nearby.”

“I didn’t know either.”

“You didn’t? Then how?”

“There’s a villa near Merlin Lake that belongs to Allen. I contacted him in a rush and he said I could use it.”

“Ah.”

It was true that he had made a hasty call, but it was more of an announcement than asking for permission.

Allen was working in the knight squad and his parents were down in the provincial territory, so he knew the villa was vacant.

Besides, they weren’t intending to use the villa, just a part of the lakeside property in front for a bit, so it should be fine even without proper preparations.

“Wow, it’s beautiful.”

As soon as she stepped off the carriage holding Eric’s hand, Alicia exclaimed at the beautiful landscape.

The spread of green grass they saw on the way was pretty, but the jade water of Merlin Lake reflecting the blue sky, the surrounding green trees, and the blooming flower garden were all stunning.
Seeing Alicia’s wide smile, Eric also felt a wave of good mood.

“Please, come in, Count.”

“You are?”

“I’m the steward in charge here. Please call me whenever you need anything.”

“Thank you.”

“We have prepared a place for you to rest. This way.”

The steward received the luggage from the groom, and began to lead Eric and Alicia by walking ahead.

“Did Allen prepare more than we expected? I contacted him hastily.”

“Indeed. I’m really grateful.”

The place the butler guided them to was a lawn near the lakeside. In front of them was a lake, behind them a flower garden, and lush trees on both sides, making the scenery very beautiful.

Among them, under the shade of a tree with a branch greatly stretched to the side, a spot that looked quite soft to the eyes had already been prepared.

A large mat was laid down, and accessories like cushions, pillows etc., for comfortable sitting were also prepared.

“The young master insisted that I make you both comfortable, so I hastily prepared. I don’t know if it will be to your liking.”

“This is more than enough. You’ve worked hard.”

“No, Count.”

‘Allen, that rascal, he’s been trying to climb up these days, should I forgive him?’

Eric followed the steward with a small laugh, and approached the prepared place.

“I heard that you will bring your own things to drink, but just in case, I have prepared some simple things. Please call me anytime if you need anything else.”

“Thank you.”

“I think the shade alone will be enough, but I have also prepared a parasol for the lady.”

“Thank you.”

“Then, have a good time.”

The steward put down the luggage, bowed, and returned the way he came.

“Shall we sit down then?”

“Wow, the grass is much softer than I thought.”

“Sit on this. I’ll place this behind you, lean on here.”

Alicia sat on the spot Eric prepared, and teased.

“So in the end, it wasn’t you who prepared, but Lord Allen?”

“…Can you say I gave good instructions?”

“Pfft. I think it was a timely command for that short time. As expected, competent.”

“Thanks. Then where, what did you prepare?”

Eric opened the basket.

Various finger foods and fruits were beautifully packed to the brim.

“The chef paid a lot of attention in such a short time.”

“Indeed.”

“Give it here.”

“I’ll do it. I said I’ll take care of everything today.”

Then Eric began to take everything out of the basket.

‘Ah, if we can’t eat all of that, we’ll have to put it back in. Besides, the space is getting narrower.’

But seeing Eric seemed quite excited, in the end, Alicia let him do as he wanted, smiling.

“Here. Drink.”

Eric also took out a glass bottle of juice, poured it, and handed it to Alicia.

After watching Eric’s actions for a while, Alicia asked with a doubtful look.

“Why are you so affectionate today?”

“Huh?”

Eric looked at Alicia for a moment and laughed.

“It’s like a bribe.”

“A bribe?”

“In case there might be a time for agreement later on.”

“?”

Eric reached out to Alicia, laughing.

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
