What started as a halfjoking conversation soon turned serious as Allen scolded himself for his advice. Eric paused for a moment, pondering what to do with this kid.

However, Allen continued his tirade, unabashed.

“Your sisterinlaw would hardly be pleased with monster fur. If it ends with a breakup, consider yourself lucky. What will you do if you get sued?”

“······.”

“Ah, it would be pretty interesting to see. Hmm. I guess I shouldn’t have tried to stop you?”

As Eric folded his arms and glared, Allen immediately widened his eyes and mumbled under his breath.

‘Ah, with that hottempered guy. I’m sure my sisterinlaw who decided to marry such a person must have sold her country in her previous life. Or maybe this guy saved a country in his past life.’

“Look at your face?”

“Hey, really. Senior, this is also violence.”

“You should think before you speak.”

“Where did you get hurt, Commander?”

As the rookie, whose face had turned pale, rushed over, Eric turned around in surprise, and Allen waved his hand here.

“Over here, over here! Rookie! He’s gotten extremely violent right now!”

“Oh no. The magic of the monster could be the cause. Let’s start with purification!”

“What?”

Splash.

Eric, who had been sprinkled with holy water in an instant, opened his mouth in a low voice.

“……Get lost. Before I kill you all.”

“Huh?”

As the rookie who was preparing for purification froze in surprise, Allen rolled on the floor next to him, clutching his stomach and snickering.

‘What an interesting Knight Order.’

A man with orange hair wearing the same Second Knight Order uniform as Eric, who had been watching from afar, snickered.

‘The instructions were clear, and the skills were excellent. His ability to deal with things on the spot was good, too. I guess not just anyone can be a knight commander.’

Mumbling to himself, he looked at Eric one more time before naturally joining the other knights preparing to return.

‘But why would he suddenly investigate Count Russel? He doesn’t look like a magician, and there doesn’t seem to be anything unusual?’

The man tilted his head and soon followed the knights who were calling him.

“Welcome back.”

“Ah.”

The person who greeted the returning Eric was not the housekeeper or the stewardess, but Alicia.

She had said she would wait here when he left, so he had been slightly hopeful, but he thought she would have left because it was late.

“Were you here?”

“You said you’d be back today.”

“How did you know?”

“Prince William told me.”

Prince William, who had promised to send him news frequently when they met in the royal palace last time, had sent a message in advance that Eric would return today.

“Ah, I see.”

Seeing Alicia’s bright smile made Eric’s heart feel strangely ticklish.

“Um. I’m back.”

It was a first.

It felt strange to say that he had returned to someone who was waiting for him.

It felt awkward, but not bad, so Eric just smiled.

Now he seemed to understand why everyone was so eager to get home quickly.

“Any injuries?”

“None, I’m perfectly fine.”

At Alicia’s inquiring gaze, Eric smiled awkwardly.

The housekeeper, who had been watching the two, squinted her eyes.

‘Surely it’s not the end like this?’

He had just fought with a monster and came back safe and sound.
Isn’t there supposed to be a sentimental atmosphere, a little bit like this and like that? I couldn’t understand why they were just staring and smiling.

‘No, modern youngsters don’t do that, so why are our Count and Miss so unnecessarily conservative?’

Gazing intently at Eric and Alicia while grumbling inwardly, the butler intervened.

“Ouch, why?”

“Staring like that is rude.”

“Staring? I was looking with a warm gaze.”

“Your eyes were very cold.”

“Cold? Such a hurtful thing to say. To misinterpret my affectionate gaze like that.”

“Anyhow, it was not normal, clearly.”

“Hmm.”

The butler seemed to have discovered the underlying thoughts, leading to a fake cough.

“Frankly, you also think their conversation is strange, don’t you?”

“I don’t think so.”

“Don’t lie. But why are you being so cautious?”

“Hmm.”

The butler too seemed to have been discovered and made a fake cough.

“It’s not very modern, but it’s not bad. It’s much better than something that flares up quickly and disappears.”

“It’s frustrating.”

“That’s right, frustrating.”

Caught off guard, the butler who inadvertently expressed his true feelings shut his mouth and glared at the butler a little.

The butler chuckled, causing the butler to make a fake cough with an embarrassed face and closed his mouth.

Butler and butler or not, Eric and Alicia continued their conversation.

“The twins asked for a gift, so I was worried, but there was nothing special on the way back.”

“You were concerned about that? It’s just kids’ talk. Just buy something casually.”

“That’s too much. To the kids.”

“They won’t remember anyway, will they?”

“Is that so? Actually, I was thinking of peeling off some monster fur.”

“Monster fur?”

“Yeah. It seemed warm.”

Alicia recalled the monster she saw in the square.

Indeed, the fur had been quite rich.

“But wasn’t the fur a bit rough?”

“Ah, I see. It might hurt the kids. I didn’t think of that.”

The butler and the butler looked at each other again.

‘What is this all about? Why suddenly monster fur? Why are they talking about it so nonchalantly?’

The butler’s face was filled with confusion. Next to him, the butler and the standing servants had the same expression.

Alicia had a lot to say when she met Eric.

Most of it was about work.

For example, the forecast of the sudden appearance of monsters on domestic games, or the impact on various businesses and countermeasures.

But when she saw Eric’s face, she didn’t want to talk about such stiff things.

So, she was just about to go home, but the butler and the butler pushed her into the reception room with a lot of talk, and suddenly they were alone.

“What do you want to talk about? Was there anything while I was away?”

At Eric’s question, Alicia thought for a moment and shook her head.

She didn’t want to talk about work now either.

“Not particularly. Aren’t you tired more than that?”

“No, I’m fine. I’ll rest tomorrow. But I want to wash now.”

“Do that. I’ll go back.”

Eric suddenly asked Alicia, who got up with him.

“Do you want to sleep?”
