“Well, sometimes, isn’t it okay to indulge in appreciation? We have no connection with them up there.”

At his words, the subordinate in the black robe also looked up at the sky.

Moonlight poured down clearly, and starlight was shining brilliantly.

The next morning, Alicia opened her eyes to the sunlight shining through the window.

“Oh, my head.”

Alicia, who opened her eyes, sat up and touched her head.

The sunlight was dazzling, but she couldn’t sleep anymore because of her throbbing headache.

“Oh, surprised.”

Sitting on the chair next to the bed and staring intently with a clenched fist was Eric.

“What are you doing here?”

“…”

Their eyes met, and Alicia, seeing Eric’s disheveled appearance, was taken aback.

“Why is your face like that?”

“I wonder who it’s because of.”

“Because of whom?”

Eric silently looked at Alicia.

He had a lot to say but couldn’t express it with his current expression.

“Any memories of yesterday?”

“Yesterday?”

“Yesterday, you tried to seduce me just like that dash.”

“What are you talking about? This man from the morning!”

In response to Alicia’s unbelievable words, Eric scrutinized her, asking once again, “You really don’t remember?”

“I wouldn’t do that.”

“Okay. I thought so.”

Eric washed his face with cold water.

Afraid of what might happen, he couldn’t leave Alicia, who was sleeping, alone and couldn’t leave the room.

He tried to catch some sleep on the chair but repeatedly woke up from light dozing until the sun rose.

“Anyway, you seem to be in good shape now, so that’s enough.”

“What? What are you talking about?”

Looking at Alicia with a suspicious expression, Eric chuckled.

“I’ll tell you later. For now, rest.”

When Eric got up from his seat, bewildered Alicia looked at him.

“Where are you going?”

“I have some work.”

“What? What kind?”

“No, not demons. There were guys we arrested yesterday.”

“Arrest? Why does the Knights do that? Isn’t it the job of the Security Patrol?”

“That’s true, but I think I need to get involved a bit.”

Eric, looking at Alicia’s worried face, smiled as if trying to reassure her.

“Rest easy. Ross will bring the palace physician for a checkup.”

“Checkup? I’m perfectly fine.”

“You fainted yesterday.”

Hearing Eric’s words, Alicia closed her mouth in surprise and recollected yesterday.

After toasting with champagne with William and Chase, bidding them farewell as they went to discuss work, meeting a somewhat familiar woman and apologizing for past events, and then dash.

“Oh, right after that!”

In response to Alicia’s incomprehensible words, Eric carefully observed her and asked once again, “You really don’t remember?”

“I wouldn’t do that.”

“Okay. I thought so.”

Eric wiped his face with a dry expression.
“It’s okay. Thanks to O’Brien, nothing happened.”

“Kate O’Brien?”

“Yeah. Tell her my thanks later. Also, just in case, make sure to get a checkup.”

“Together dash.”

“Yeah?”

She wanted to ask him to stay with her, but feeling uncomfortable for keeping him up and knowing he had work to do, Alicia couldn’t bring herself to say it and just smiled.

“I’ll get a checkup. Go quickly.”

“Sure.”

Knowing Alicia was watching him, Eric left the room.

Alone, Alicia sat on the bed, her expression awkward, once again trying to recall the events from yesterday.

“Why did the memory stop there? I only had a glass of champagne. I was perfectly fine.”

Alicia struggled to recall the memories, but no matter how hard she thought, nothing came to mind after leaving the party venue.

As soon as he left the room, Alan, who had been waiting outside, followed Eric.

“Senior.”

“What happened?”

“It’s more serious than I thought.”

“Serious?”

“The guys I caught were after the sister-in-law.”

“They must have mistaken me for someone else. It hurts my pride.”

At Eric’s abruptly darkened expression, Alan involuntarily cringed.

“Then what about the guys I caught?”

“One of them was a warlock. However, he’s trembling in fear and not saying a word.”

“What?”

“Moreover, we found the body of another warlock nearby. The identification will be done by the Security Patrol, but the guy and the body were taken away from the Grand Temple, which moved independently.”

Eric frowned.

If they moved independently from the Grand Temple, the Zero Knights would be involved anyway, so Eric instructed Alan to leave them alone and properly confirm it later.

“If they intervened from the Grand Temple, leave it be.”

“Yes?”

Eric thought that if Alicia was involved, they might protest to the Grand Temple, but surprisingly, Alan easily agreed. Eric found it strange, but Alan continued with the briefing following Eric’s silent gesture.

“It seems that someone influenced those evil guys.”

“Who?”

“They are being interrogated by the Security Patrol.”

“Then let’s go.”

“Yes? Even if you turn them over to the Security Patrol, it’s not our jurisdiction.”

“Is there a problem with just going to see? Do you have an issue?”

“The Director is going there in person, so what’s the problem?”

Alan chuckled and followed Eric, who was walking briskly.

Seeing Eric walking silently, Alan guessed that Eric’s mood was quite low.

Remembering Eric embracing Alicia without any reaction yesterday, Alan worriedly asked, “By the way, how is Sister-in-law? Is she okay?”

“She’s still okay. The palace physician will examine her.”

“Oh, then is it okay for Senior not to be with her? Sister-in-law must have been shocked.”

“I haven’t told her yet. I’ll do it properly after checking.”

As if trying to shake off his exhaustion, Eric ran his hand through his hair.

Beside him, Alan cautiously spoke as he watched Eric’s stern expression.

“Don’t worry too much, Senior. There can’t be anything wrong, can there? Sister-in-law is safe, and we’ve caught them all.”

“…Yeah. Anyway, good job, Alan.”

“It was more fun than the party. No big deal. But, Senior.”

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
