Just before descending from the clouds and reaching the ground, Orbis returned to his human form and gently landed, holding Litania in his arms.

When she was sitting on his back, she felt like a light feather, but in his arms, she felt like a warmly baked marshmallow.

“Thank you for warming me, Orbis.”

“It’s faster this way.”

“Certainly because Dipharmo is farther north, the snow has piled up softly.”

Litania looked up at the sky. In the highlands of Rumor, fine snow had fallen so delicately that individual crystals could be seen, but in Dipharmo, large snowflakes were falling heavily.

In chilly Dipharmo, this was probably not the first snow. But for the two of them, it was the first snow of the year.

Litania seemed to enjoy catching the snowflakes; her nose turned red as she reached out her hand toward the falling flakes.

Her soft sigh of wonder made her seem utterly like an innocent child, and Orbis smiled faintly.

“They say couples go on dates to meet the first snow together.”

What would happen if two people who weren’t lovers met the first snow together?

Orbis noticed her ears had turned bright red through her slightly damp hair, and he stepped closer.

“Litania. If you keep catching snow like that, you’ll catch a cold.”

Orbis took off his blue cloak and wrapped it around Litania’s shoulders. When it had been on his own shoulders, the magic had kept it clean, but now white spots began to appear one by one.

“Don’t you feel cold, Orbis?”
