“Are you even in your right mind? Why would you do such a thing?”

“Don’t cause a scene here—get up quickly. Dina, help Rosa up.”

As the other maids began watching them curiously due to Rosa’s wailing, Vera hurriedly spoke to the two.

The maids serving Princess Lilibet glared fiercely as they watched the trio of maids rush toward the annex.

“Judging by how she looks, that fool is likely about to get herself banished.”

“What should we do? What if someone finds out Princess ordered it…?”

“Do you really think Her Highness would even consider such a thing, let alone assign it to someone like her? No one would believe it no matter how much she babbled—it’s pointless for someone under a powerless mistress to make a fuss.”

‘Our Princess was the one who got over ten noblewomen disqualified at once during the first contest,’ they sneered, then returned to their quarters.

“How could you do something like that? We may be looked down upon as maids, but we still have honor to uphold!”

Hot-headed and straightforward Dina shouted at her closest friend, her hands trembling with the urge to slap Rosa’s back.

Back in the annex, Rosa tearfully confessed everything to Vera and Dina—the whole story, including how she’d subtly cracked the heel of Lady Arabella’s dancing shoes so they’d break the moment she wore them.
