As generations passed, the special abilities of the Delcinqclaire family gradually weakened. Relying solely on their ability, the Delcinqclaires squandered their wealth on gambling and entertainment.
By the sixth generation, the Delcinqclaires were reduced to mere quacks, stripped of their wealth and prestige. The few remaining members of the bloodline were forced to attach themselves to rural lords for survival, barely managing to utilize their dwindling healing powers.
Arabell’s father, a direct descendant, was no different. He and his daughters were living in Baron Candor’s domain, using their meager healing abilities to get by. At best, they could only heal minor injuries that even a regular doctor could easily treat.
Arabell’s father realized that when all the Delcinqclaire bloodline’s members combined their powers, they could enhance each other’s minimal healing abilities.
Unlike her sisters, Camille and Roxie, whose healing abilities emerged at five, Arabell’s never did. Her father endlessly resented her, fantasizing about the immense combined power they could have had if she possessed the gift.
However, his frustrations stemmed from an overestimation of their abilities. Even together, they barely managed to heal a sprained leg, let alone with Arabell’s hypothetical contribution.
But he blamed Arabell for their poverty and contempt, finding it easier than admitting his failures.
Tragically, Arabell believed his words and blamed herself for her family’s misfortunes.
“If only I had the healing power… Mother wouldn’t have left us,” Arabell murmured while stroking the pregnant racehorse, Lily. She hadn’t eaten dinner, but the stable felt much more comfortable than being inside the manor.
The year Camille was eleven, Arabell nine, and Roxie eight, their mother vanished.
‘It’s because of you. Your mother left us, disappointed in you.’
‘We lost our mother because of you. If not for you, we could have grown up with her love.’
‘Everything went wrong because of you. If only a different child were born, we could have revived our family.’
For over ten years, such cruel words became a harsh reality for Arabell and those around her.
“Lily, even if your babies don’t become great racehorses like you, you’ll still love them, right?” Arabell tenderly brushed Lily’s mane while resting her head on her knee.
Then,
“I see talking to animals at all hours is your hobby,” came a resonant baritone from behind her.
There was a familiar arrogance in the confident voice.
Arabell turned, her eyes widening like a full moon. The black panther, now a young man, stood at the stable entrance, no longer naked, nor alone.
He was dressed in a fine dark blue uniform made of rare fabric not found in the village, adorned with a red robe bordered with gold.
Surrounded by over twenty soldiers in silver armor, the imperial golden dragon insignia glittered on their armor.
Beside the man stood Baron Candor and his family, heads bowed. Margo, Camille, and Roxie peeked at him from behind their parents.
With each step he took, a guard promptly rolled out a red carpet before him.
His crimson eyes captured Arabell’s trembling orbs, pleasantly flickering. A long shadow soon fell over Arabell’s head.
Emperor Maxwell extended his hand towards Arabell.
“I promised I would take responsibility. I’ve come to take you with me.”
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
