Lilith gently spread and folded her hands, as if stroking an invisible phantom star. Her movements were so natural, as though she truly held a tiny star in her palm, that I briefly wondered if she’d once journeyed into the cosmos during her time in the land of God with someone’s aid.

“Well, you’ve merely come here to retrieve it, just as that great being commanded you to.”

Then, placing one hand over her chest, Lilith fixed her gaze firmly on Sasha.

“But do you know this? That great being you serve intends to use it when passing through the Primordial Gate.”

With a meaningful smile, Lilith soon propped her chin on one hand.

“Only those who have committed no sin may pass through that gate.”

Pointing with her index finger at the ‘Tears of the Star’ clutched in Sasha’s hand, Lilith continued.

“But with that alone, the great being won’t be able to deceive the gatekeeper.”

Great being?

‘Could it be the same great entity I heard about in history class?’

Perking up my ears, I neatly stacked the thought that surfaced in my mind and paid careful attention to Lilith’s next words.

“In the end, it will be annihilated.”

Great being, annihilation—just these two phrases stirred something within my mind, though nothing clear emerged. I only felt vaguely provoked.
