I clicked my tongue inwardly and, together with the shop attendant who had been quietly observing the situation, stepped into the fitting room. Next, I carefully removed the clearly expensive green dress with the attendant’s help and put back on the outfit I’d changed into when leaving the capital.

Once I’d finished getting ready to leave and stepped outside, it seemed payment was already completed—Eshian and Lilith stood holding a heap of garment-filled bags, while Poppy lay perfectly still, quietly curled up on one end of the sofa.
