People Aren't Meant to Be Fixed! (4 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 7
The kids might just be excited because something new has come up.
‘Hooray.’
I felt as if colorful musical notes and flower petals were swirling around the children.
“Hmm, at that pace, they won’t make it.”
I watched Ronowe and Beris racing ahead, their footsteps clattering loudly.
“The library’s farther than you think.”
“It’s fine.”
What was that supposed to mean? I turned to look at Carlisle walking beside me, puzzled.
‘Ah.’
And then I understood instantly.
“I… can’t walk anymore.”
The Fleur siblings, whom I’d assumed had iron stamina, had fallen behind in an instant.
‘So that’s what he meant—they won’t last till the end.’
Kids will be kids. I decided to walk slowly instead.
‘Hm?’
But I kept sensing stares on the back of my head, so I stopped and glanced back.
‘…….’
There stood the two personal maids, fidgeting anxiously.
‘Ugh.’
Feeling sorry for them, I beckoned them over.
“Your Highness, please allow me to carry you—”
They must’ve misunderstood my gesture as an invitation to be held.
“No, thank you. I’ll go by myself.”
I’m tired of being treated like a child.
“Take care of those two instead.”
I pointed to Ronowe and Beris, who were slumped on the floor, sighing.
“Yes, Your Highness.”
The maids each picked up one of the siblings.
“We’ll wait here.”
Soon after arriving at the study, the maids said they’d wait near the entrance.
I nodded and let Carlisle escort me inside.
“Our house’s study is bigger!”
“Wow~ There are so many books!”
Ronowe and Beris were suddenly full of energy, as if they’d never been tired.
“Sis, hurry up!”
“Come on, let’s go together~.”
The Fleur Siblings, eyes sparkling with excitement, were completely absorbed in exploring the study.
‘Anyway, I know the answers I’m looking for aren’t in the library.’
I watched Ronowe and Beris hopping around cheerfully.
‘I checked this place first in my previous life already.’
I sighed.
‘I’ll play with them a bit longer, then head back.’
Later, realizing we weren’t alone in the spacious study, I warned the children not to cause a commotion.
“Angel! Devil!”
“Where? I wanna see too!”
We were quietly following Ronowe and Beris when this happened.
“The angel’s fighting the devil later. The bad devil!”
“But didn’t you see the angel hitting the devil?”
Suddenly, Ronowe and Beris stopped in front of a framed painting depicting an angel and a demon and started arguing.
“The angel scolds the devil because the devil makes people suffer.”
Trending
“No! There are kind devils who don’t hurt people!”
“No way! Devils always do bad things!”
My mind went blank. I could feel others glancing our way.
“How do you know? Angels can do bad things too!”
“Then how do you know, Sis?”
Their bickering, complete with shoving hands, gave me a headache.
‘Ugh, such a headache…’
I smacked my forehead. I couldn’t understand why these brats had suddenly started fighting.
“Not everything that appears good is truly good! There must be bad angels too—It’s written in ‘The Boundary of Good and Evil’!”
“No, that’s wrong!”
“You dummy! Are you smarter than the scholar Loup de Zaniata?”
At that moment, Ronowe snapped in frustration.
‘How does she even know that book?’
I was startled.
‘That’s definitely not a book for children.’
My head filled with question marks.
It felt unbelievable—she’d spoken so clearly and distinctly, as if she weren’t a child at all. Ronowe seemed like someone else entirely.
As if someone were merely wearing the disguise of a little girl.
“Don’t call me dumb….”
Before I could calm my racing heart, Beris started sniffling.
‘Stop fighting… it’s annoying.’
I was about to scold them when I sensed someone spying on us.
I locked eyes with the onlooker immediately and made a cold, sharp gesture across my throat—an unspoken warning not to stare any longer.
“Ahem.”
The eavesdropper, not entirely foolish, cleared their throat and quickly moved away.
“Stop fighting. In the library, you must be quiet. Go on, make up.”
“You made me mad.”
“You called me dumb, so I got mad too.”
When I turned back to the children, Carlisle had already reconciled the siblings.
‘Phew, crisis averted.’
I continued touring the study with the kids in tow.
‘My body really isn’t what it used to be.’
Feeling pathetic for struggling even to climb onto a chair, I grew slightly gloomy.
‘Don’t those two ever get tired?’
Glancing over, I saw Ronowe and Beris dragging Carlisle around, poking into every corner.
‘They just keep going endlessly.’
At least with Carlisle by their side, I figured the Fleur Siblings would be fine.
“What are you reading there?”
Even so, when I finally looked at the book in my hands, I couldn’t focus and kept watching the kids.
“It says ‘101 Ways to Get Confessions from Someone You Like♥.’”
“Ways to get confessions?”
“Read it aloud!”
Surely he wouldn’t actually read such embarrassing content out loud. I was certain he’d refuse.
“……if that happens……then you should try……next, you……”
But Carlisle defied my expectations.
“If……then it’ll become……and then……”
He read every word clearly until midway, when he abruptly closed the book.
“That’s roughly what it says.”
“It’s too hard!”
“Right!”

“Explain it simply!”
The Fleur Siblings confessed they didn’t understand a word.
“The protagonists, Linda and Logan, kissed on a bridge.”
“Brother, have you ever kissed anyone?”
“Does kissing mean you’re engaged?”
The bold little ones bombarded Carlisle with questions.
“Uh……”
Carlisle, seemingly embarrassed, suddenly blushed and trailed off.
“……I don’t really know either.”
“What? You don’t know?”
“That’s nonsense~.”
“We thought you’d know, Brother—you’re so smart!”
Even a future general is still just a child.
As the kids approached, I quickly turned my head away.
“Nonsense~ nonsense~.”
Still, I quite liked the word the Fleur children kept muttering.
‘“Nonsense”—what a pleasant-sounding word.’
From now on, their nicknames would be “Nonsense.” I decided then and there to call Ronowe and Beris that—but not Carlisle.
‘Still… marriage… brings back unpleasant memories.’
Suddenly, my past life flashed before me.
‘Your Radiance, the Sun of the Empire!’
‘Go away.’
Back then, as emperor, my ministers had been obsessed with meddling in my marriage. Faceless nobles, blinded by power, had feigned love for me.
Countless among them had pushed their sons onto me, hoping to forge connections.
‘Your Majesty!’
‘Go home!’
Their one common trait? Not a single one had ever asked for my opinion.
After all, for royalty, marriage was…
‘Not a choice, but a duty.’
I snorted bitterly at the resurfacing bitterness.
‘But my heart is still my own.’
Even as a commoner, I’d once been forced into marriage.
‘How hard was it being the wife of a drunken sot!’
I vividly recalled struggling to fix the addled mind of that wretch who kept singing for more liquor.
‘This life, as a Crown Princess, will surely bring the same battles over marriage.’
I let out a quiet sigh, mindful of the children nearby.
‘Before that happens, I must find the answer quickly….’
Suddenly, exhaustion overwhelmed me.
‘Ughn….’
Unable to resist the drowsiness, I slumped face-down onto the table.
“…….”
In my half-sleep, I felt soft fabric being draped over me and heard someone chuckling.
Normally, I’d have jolted awake at the slightest sound and glared at whoever dared laugh at me openly.
But this fatigue was overwhelming—I simply drifted off to sleep.
And I dreamed.
As if my soul had left my body, I saw the landscape of the empire I’d ruled in my past life.
Poof!
Just as I was about to lose myself in nostalgia, my vision warped—and I found myself in an imperial office.
[This is the timeline separator]“What does the Ariel Temple say? Will they show us the records?”
ads
“Well…”
The messenger had returned without the desired answer.
“They claim the temple is no longer under Lionel’s jurisdiction but belongs to Randle—so they see no reason to cooperate.”
The advisor, Ellaila, lowered her head slightly after speaking.
“They cited our kingdom’s declaration of independence over twenty years ago as their justification.”
The temple remained uncooperative for many reasons.
“Not even a simple showing? Why are they being so stubborn?”
Their refusal of even a polite request felt like a boulder crashing onto my head.
“Did you clearly state it was my personal request?”
I ground my teeth as I asked.
“Yes.”
“Then did you speak to their king?”
“We sent a cooperation request, but…”
The advisor hesitated before continuing.
“They replied that the temple is an independent institution and thus cannot comply with our demands.”
She added, “Moreover, the nation housing the Central Temple controls a vital commercial hub—if we pressure them, our western shipping routes could be severed.”
She stepped back after finishing her report.
“Why is everything so complicated? Just when I thought it was settled…”
I scowled and irritably crunched on some biscuits, while a servant nearby promptly refilled my teacup.
“Your Highness, may I ask why obtaining these records is so crucial?”
“Recall the oracle from the Grand Temple.”
“The answer lies in what was taken.”
I rested my face in my hand as I repeated those words.
“Doesn’t it make sense? The only thing recently stolen was the Ariel Temple.”
“There was also a raid in the eastern region.”
The advisor tried to counter gently, but I ignored her.
“The oracle came right after we lost that temple in the last war.”
“But…”
Crash!
Frustrated that nothing ever went my way, I smashed my plate with a fork.
“My deepest apologies!”
The startled servant immediately bowed deeply, apologizing profusely.
“Thinking about it again just makes me angry… Can’t we just take it by force?”
I leaned back in my chair and muttered.
“Your Highness? Absolutely not!”
Ellaila vehemently objected.
Every time—even years ago, recently, just the other day—whenever I hinted at war, she’d desperately tried to stop me.
“I don’t want to go this far either, but if force is the only way to get what I need, what choice do I have?”
I grumbled.
“Then use the incident where they came into our waters, stripped the fish bare, and massacred our fishermen as grounds.”
“Didn’t you already dispatch an envoy regarding that matter?”
Ah, right. I answered, looking at my flustered servant.
“Now that I think about it, that’s not something we should let slide.”
“Your Highness…”
“The temple originally belonged to our kingdom—so we should simply take it back.”
If words don’t work, violence will. I shrugged.
“Are you suggesting we go to war?”
Exactly! I snapped my fingers and smirked.
“Excellent idea! I shall take your advice.”
I declared solemnly and seriously.
Trending
“War it is.”
The conclusion had always been inevitable from the start.
“When did I ever advise you to go to war?”
Ellaila was flustered.
“Summon General Roy!”
Ah, forget it. Feeling my mind clear, I ordered the general’s presence for a war council.
“Your Highness! Please reconsider—”
Nope. I tuned out her plea once again.
Waaaaah—!!
Thus, a new war began, and I finally set foot in the temple I’d longed for.
“How am I supposed to find anything here? I specifically ordered them not to touch the temple archives!”
True, my commands hadn’t been fully followed—the temple was no longer intact.
“We’ll have to search while restoring it.”
As I brushed dust off my hands, I sensed someone nearby and drew my sword.
“You…”
A child? I sheathed my blade upon seeing a young boy.
“Your Highness~!”
“Your Highness! We feared something had happened when you didn’t return.”
While I turned briefly to speak to my knights, the boy vanished.
‘Quite nimble for a little one.’
I glanced at the spot where he’d stood and inwardly admired him.
“Did you find the records I requested?”
“You’re the ones who should be searching.”
“Huh?”
Ridiculous. I gestured broadly around me.
“How am I supposed to search this entire place alone?”
“Yes, understood.”
Together with my knights, I began sifting through scattered documents in the temple archives.
The search continued late into the night, but unfortunately, we found nothing useful.
“Not here either?”
Late that night, back in my tent, I marked another X on the map.
“Others wage war to live—I seem to be waging war to die.”
None of the nations I’d conquered, including today’s, possessed the information I sought.
“Where in the world is God’s answer hidden?”
I clenched my fists and trembled.
“He clearly said he’d left a record somewhere in the human world… and this oracle felt so certain!”
It’s maddening. Since he mentioned a record, I was prepared to search every temple on earth—but to no avail.
“I need some fresh air.”
Whenever results like this happen, I feel utterly drained. I decided to take a slow walk outside.
“Halt!”
“You’ll be punished at dawn for daring to steal here!”
Just outside my tent, the camp was in an uproar.
“Meet your end on the gallows, you thief!”
It turned out the boy I’d seen earlier was thrashing in the guards’ grip.
“Your Highness, forgive us. We caught this boy stealing potatoes.”
“A couple of potatoes won’t kill anyone. Just give them to him and let him go.”
I assumed the child had only taken a few and intended to hand them over.
“Well… it’s not just a couple.”
But the scale of potatoes the boy had attempted to steal… was enormous.
“He tried to steal all of that? Alone?”

I gaped at the massive sack and asked in disbelief.
“Yes… what should we do?”
“Hmm…”
I’d thought he was just a grubby kid, but this was no ordinary child.
“What’s your name?”
“Jeff.”
‘Dirty as he is, he has delicate hands.’
After scrutinizing him carefully, I pressed for more precise information.
“You’re clearly no commoner—what’s your surname?”
The boy hesitated for a while, then bit his lip tightly. A guard nudged him.
“Answer quickly.”
Even after much coaxing, the child remained silent until finally, he lifted his head and looked me straight in the eyes.
“Jeff Hedder Piccadilly.”
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
