The thought crossed my mind that even a slight suggestion of hardship or fear on my part could result in the maid facing severe punishment.

‘Anyway, I must acknowledge when someone goes above and beyond, like during that mosquito incident.’

I wondered if all parents act like this with their only child. Never having raised a child, I couldn’t be sure. I sighed inwardly and shook Jeff’s sleeve.

‘Enough with the sternness.’

It wasn’t particularly that I felt pity or compassion for the maid. It was just uncomfortable for me if the atmosphere got tense. I gave Jeff a glaring look, implying he should lighten up.

“At the sad gaze of the princess, I’ll let it slide just this once.”

“Thank you for forgiving me.”

“This mustn’t happen again.”

Geez, this kid always interprets things his own way. I can’t even do such a gaze, and even if I could, it would disgust me. I nearly chuckled at the absurdity of associating me with the word ‘pitiable.’

“Also, my daughter, if something urgent comes up, make sure to seek help from the maid first.”

“I will.”

Logically speaking, the incident was caused by my spontaneous action, but to be honest, I didn’t feel I had done anything wrong.

“Please let me down so I can walk now.”

Feeling relieved that one headache was out of the way, I suggested we walk slowly, wary of Jeff potentially pulling a disgusting face and offering to carry me.

Walking would be convenient, but somehow, I didn’t want to command Jeff like a mount right now.

“Princess!”

Upon arriving where the children were, the first to recognize and run to me was Carlisle.

“I heard a loud scream from afar. Are you hurt anywhere?”

Indeed, my future loyal subject. I met eyes with Carlisle, who was holding Poppy.

“Yes, I just got lost, but everything is fine.”

There was something that had happened, but it was not worth mentioning. I shrugged my shoulders at the thought of what use would it be to talk about meeting with YongYong.

“I’m really relieved, Princess.”

Then Carlisle let out a sigh of relief and rubbed his chest, and soon after, Fleur came running with my siblings, calling out for me.

“It’s a good thing Poppy found the princess!”

“Don’t leave us and disappear on your own!”

The kids seemed close to tears, worried about me, which instead of making me feel proud, made me feel even more tired.

“Alright, keep some distance.”

“No way!”

Above all, it was annoying that Ronowe kept clinging to me. I shook my body, but he gripped my neck tighter, nearly making me fall backward.

“Greetings, Your Majesty.”

“Yes, nice to meet you. As the queen mentioned, you’ve been well-educated.”

With the help of the maid, I finally shook Ronowe off, and I saw Jeff and Carlisle exchanging greetings.

“As a father, it’s comforting to see friends who genuinely care for our daughter.”

“Indeed, Your Majesty. It’s reassuring to have excellent friends by the Princess’s side.”

My eyes darted from Ronowe and Beris playing with Poppy back to Jeff.

“But now you must return to your duties.”

“……Understood.”

Upon hearing Eshian’s pragmatic words, Jeff’s face sank, and he walked away, trudging toward his office.

“Your Majesty, you must be tired from wandering lost in the maze?”

Soon after, Miranda, perhaps feeling guilty about earlier, left the kids with Hayley and paid more attention to me.

“It might strain your body, so it would be better if you take some rest.”

I was about to decline, but as a ruler, it’s not proper to ignore a subject, so I agreed.

“Here’s some tea with flower petals in it.”
The maid who said the tea would be good for recovering from fatigue and suit my taste retreated a few steps. I took a sip as I stared at the spot where the squirrel first appeared.

“May I rest beside you, Princess?”

Strange, what’s up with Carlisle?

“Sure.”

I figured he must be tired from entertaining the courtiers and allowed him to sit beside me nonchalantly.

“The chocolate cookies taste good. Try one.”

“Thank you for the recommendation.”

Carlisle, sitting across from me, tasted the tea and snacks and gave a faint smile.

“By the way, are you learning swordsmanship?”

I blurted out the question as I watched Carlisle enjoy his cookie, recalling his past vow to grow stronger based on my advice.

“Yes, the knights of Flore are sparing time to guide me in swordsmanship.”

Carlisle, filled with confidence and positive energy, showed determination in his new field of interest.

“I am still inexperienced, but I aspire to train diligently and become an excellent knight.”

Good, that way I can make full use of you. I nodded and picked up a macaron to eat.

“And… Princess.”

“What?”

After taking several sips of tea to avoid sounding rash, Carlisle looked up at me with twinkling eyes.

“I heard that members of the royal family appoint personal knights once they reach a certain age.”

“So?”

Seeing his expectant face, I already knew what he was going to say next, but I pretended not to know. I opted for patience, so as not to lose a talent.

“Yes. I will undoubtedly become a knight who won’t embarrass you, Princess.”

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
