The children clapped as if they had been waiting, and I joined in with the applause out of courtesy.

‘Fun, what fun.’

Fairy tales always end like this.

‘Well, how would they know that the ending of a beautiful being doesn’t have to be happy.’

Stories aimed at younger children mostly end not in sadness. They were filled with hope and dreams, only sweet.

Whatever the truth hidden behind it.

“Today’s culture class ended with art play.”

Meanwhile, the maids who quickly cleaned up the play tools again came to the children, picking up each one.

“Are you very tired?”

“There’s still time until the afternoon schedule, so let’s all go to sleep for a nap.”

The youngest Fleur, seeing her sibling in the maid’s arms, decided she should get down from her chair.

She also had to move the sprawled sleeping Poppy.

“Your Highness.”

But suddenly, Sasha appeared and sat next to me, preventing me from executing my plan immediately.

“Today’s play was far from study. Was this play also prepared by Her Majesty the Empress?”

This guy, is he going to make a strange expression again?

I felt déjà vu, so I decided to answer with Jeff.

They both probably worked together, but if Hecate prepared the play for me, I thought Sasha would say something strange.

“Who knows? Maybe Daddy and Mommy prepared it together.”

I deliberately spoke ambiguously and immediately changed the subject.

“Rather… did you dislike art play? You seemed unimpressed by the play.”

I asked, raising one eyebrow.

Because, after all, Sasha gave off a vibe of disinterest.

“It seems my concentration to understand the play looked like boredom.”

Oh, pretending it’s not like that. I snorted inwardly at Sasha’s brazen and natural acting.

He looked offended, misunderstanding; there was no separate actor.

“Ah, but pretending to be someone else isn’t interesting.”

This child, strangely getting on my nerves.

I’ve been denying it all along, and at the end, I said to Sasha, who indirectly expressed that it was not fun after all.

“It sounds like you didn’t like the play.”

I made a plump face.

It wasn’t about ignoring the maids’ efforts; I just didn’t like Sasha’s behavior.

“That’s not true. It was an impressive play. I enjoyed it.”

“Then it’s settled.”

I concluded the conversation, feeling my blood pressure might rise if I pursued it further.

As soon as I got down from the chair with Poppy, Sasha opened her mouth with a smile.

“Thanks to Your Highness, I had a new experience, so I will bring an amazing toy the next time we meet.”

“I’m looking forward to it.”

Sasha is really incomprehensible. I just responded and turned away.

“Princess~.”

“Yes, what is it?”

Then the maid standing right across from me called me.

“It seems like Your Highness might be tired. How about being carried to move?”

Considering my frail body and being only 3 years old, she probably said that out of concern… but I didn’t feel like it.

“I don’t need it.”

I glanced at the dignified Ronowe and answered.
I’ve been wanting to spend time alone since naptime, but I didn’t want to sleep right away, so I wanted to do something else.

“Bring the military strategy book now. I have to ask questions before the military class.”

“Yes. I understand.”

I could wait until the day of the lesson, but I decided to go find Lilis since I didn’t feel like sleeping alone and had nothing else to do.

“Oh, Your Highness the Princess.”

As soon as I went to find her, Lilis greeted me with a surprised face.

“What brings you here when there’s no class today?”

Thunk!

I put the military strategy book down on the table in the middle of the room.

“I have something to check, so take a look.”

Next, I sat down on a chair with a cushion to match my height and crossed my arms.

“I’m disappointed~ No words of welcome, just stating your business~.”

Approaching with interest in the book, Lilis sobbed as if pretending to be sad.

“When were we so cold to each other?”

Grumbling that I know it’s all a lie, Lilis reluctantly agreed.

“It’s a beautiful book.”

Afterward, Lilis, holding the military strategy book, examined it from the cover.

“Don’t you feel anything? Like suspicious energy or a lingering thought?”

Who asked for your thoughts? I urged in frustration.

“Um…….”

Then, Lilis, who started looking at the book again, quickly flipped through several pages.

“It’s just an ordinary book?”

That’s impossible. I was flustered to see Lilis close the book with a laugh.

“That can’t be right…….”

I’m sure I saw it! If even Lilis feels nothing, then what did I see in the library? I touched my forehead, thinking I had come in vain.

“Ah~.”

Then, Lilis, sitting in the chair with a mischievous face, blinked and tapped the thick cover of the military strategy book with her finger.

“It seems someone dared to reveal a lingering thought in front of Your Highness.”

In no time, the bright and gentle energy disappeared, and a dark and cold energy flowed out.

“Who could it be?”

What’s wrong with you? I felt uncomfortable, as if a real snake was flickering its tongue in front of my eyes.

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
