I screamed involuntarily at the pain that felt like my body was being crushed by strong arms.

“Oh, my, I didn’t realize my strength…….”

The bluecloaked knight quickly let go, looking utterly at a loss.

‘I nearly suffocated to death. What’s going on?’

The Grand General, the subjugation, a sudden formal event, and even the audacity of the Knight Commander to hug the Emperor so casually.

‘……Huh?’

At a loss for understanding, I watched as the bluecloaked knight looked around and then swiftly removed his helmet.

‘Hecate?’

The revealed identity was almost laughable.

“Mother, I must have startled you.”

Hecate, one of my closest aides in my previous life and the most cherished servant.

‘Wait a minute!’

The one called ‘the golden blue lion,’ looked at me with affectionate eyes, patting my head as though I’d been hit with a hammer.

‘Hecate as the Grand General is surprising enough, but Empress?’

When I was the Emperor, the two of us were rivals, far from romantic interests.

Both skilled in swordsmanship, they would duel and compete at every opportunity. I had seen this with my own eyes, so I was sure.

‘But they’re married now?’

The thought of the two of them, dressed in white, laughing together, and overflowing with pink aura, was also surreal.

“Child, I knew I had you, but I had to go to battle for our country.”

As I tried to make sense of the shock, Hecate explained why she had left my side.

“You were born on that battlefield.”

With a somber face, she recounted the past, a sense of gravity emanating from her.

“I always felt guilty that I never properly held your small hand then.”

A mother before a protector of the Empire, the top knight leading the knight’s order. Hecate, who could not abandon her heavy duties and went to the battlefield despite the risks, gradually looked pitiful.

“Empress…….”

Watching her, Jeph approached with a pained face and comforted her, embracing Hecate’s shoulders.

“I came back from the brink of death. It was Your Majesty and Darjeeling that kept me going.”

Suppressing her emotions, as if having a lot to say but holding back, Hecate opened her lips with a heavy face.

‘If a capable knight like Hecate spent three years on the battlefield, it must have been a massive war.’

I left the conversation to flow naturally and gathered information, becoming enveloped in even more significant doubt.

‘But the One Empire has been oddly calm. All citizens trust this Empire’s military strength, so that must be it.’

Something’s off. There’s a feeling of something unresolved, cut off awkwardly.

‘Perhaps a new history is about to be recorded.’

While seriously pondering the Empire’s future, the dark mood suddenly lightened.

“You’ve suffered much, guarding this place alone. The past three years must have been arduous and long.”

“It was not arduous at all. I believed… that you would surely return.”
Because Hecate had overlapped her hand on Jeff’s hand that was wrapped around her shoulder, smiling.

‘I really can’t stand to see this.’

Soon after, I was breathless at the exchange of creepy glances.

‘You two used to curse each other to hell and fight when you were young.’

Jeff and Hecate, who were rivals and enemies before. I don’t know when these two became bonded like this.

“Lilith, continue to assist the empress.”

“Is there any doubt? I will continue to respond with trust.”

After enjoying some aftermath, Jeff quietly asked a knight in a green cloak to take care of Hecate.

‘Huh?’

Surely, it’s not the Lilith I know. I followed Jeff’s gaze, suspicious of the familiar name.

‘What? It’s really a snake, isn’t it?’

The only being that left the land created by the gods and an eccentric. Snake is another name for Lilith.

‘I thought she was dead since she disappeared all of a sudden.’

I was surprised to see the guy with the same appearance as ever.

Of course, to a third party’s eye, Lilith’s appearance is nothing but an ordinary human. So it’s indistinguishable, but isn’t she maintaining the same eyes, nose, hair, and voice as I saw when I was one of the first humans?

For me, I was sure at once that the knight assisting Hecate was the Lilith I knew.

‘How did this get so twisted?’

I hugged Hecate with a bewildered feeling.

“It’s a great relief that Her Highness the Princess is healthy.”

“It rained too much then, so I was worried. Fortunately, she grew up healthy.”

Whether she doesn’t recognize me or is pretending not to recognize me, I was bothered by Lilith.

“Is there anyone outside?”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

In the meantime, Jeff must have thought I didn’t need to be here anymore, so he called the maid to take me to the bedroom.

‘Lilith, that guy. What on earth is she up to?’

I was scared a few steps by the maid carrying me and asked to be put down right away.

“I will walk alone. Put me down.”

“Understood.”

The obedient maid, who did as she was told, soon politely asked.

“Shall I read you a fairy tale book when we return to the bedroom?”

“No.”

I spat out as I walked away.

‘A snake never helps others without a reason.’

Then I saw Jeff, Hecate, and Lilith, the three of them, talking about something important, and all kinds of thoughts came to mind.

‘I have to find out why that guy is here first.’

I glanced at Lilith from time to time and resolved.

‘A snake always appears where there is a disaster.’

Wink[Dash].

In the meantime, I unfortunately met eyes with Lilith, who sent a signal by leisurely winking one eye. The action and expression twisted my insides so that the chills ran up my spine.

The fact that she greets me warmly by herself makes me think that her personality is still the same. More than anything, the atmosphere seems to be filled with scattered rose petals, and it’s unbearable.

‘I don’t want to act like I know her.’

She was always like that even in the old days. I looked at the smirking Lilith and pulled Pobby’s face to both sides.

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
