“Friends? Are you perhaps unaware of what a demon is?”
I twisted my body and looked at Paradise.
Raising one eyebrow, I questioned again, feeling like I’d misunderstood something.
At first, I thought I was in danger, but the conversation took such an unexpected turn that I was dumbfounded.
“They are beings who fell to the underground due to the sin of abandoning their faith in Father. They are fundamentally different from us.”
“But if what you’re saying is true, demons were also created by God. Just like us.”
The human with purple hair, hands on their hips, slightly tilted their head.
She didn’t understand why I was cautious of demons and why their presence here displeased me.
“No, it’s different.”
I was frustrated at this point, my face scrunching up in anger that quickly filled my head.
“They betrayed Father’s mercy.”
I somewhat expected Paradise’s head to be a flower bed, but I never thought she would be so unaware of the rules of Heaven and Hell.
Inviting another friend wasn’t wrong, but she chose the wrong person.
‘Doesn’t Paradise understand that a single exception could collapse the whole system?’
After kicking these demons out, I’ll have to talk to Paradise again.
‘She’ll understand if I explain calmly.’
Without saying another word, I turned my back on Paradise, who had her arms crossed, and glared at the demons with sharp eyes.
Being generous, I assumed Paradise just didn’t know better, but it was strange that the World Tree followed her will.
‘Although Paradise is the caretaker of this land, the true owner is the World Tree.’
The World Tree should clearly know that its essence will dry up as soon as a demon’s energy touches the land.
‘So why did it allow this?’
If the World Tree dries up, all life on this land will die instantly, and it’s strange that the World Tree, who values life more than anyone, would let Paradise do as she wishes.
It was unbelievable that it hadn’t offered a stern warning or any advice.
‘The sure thing is, from the moment Paradise set foot on this land—’
I gripped my spear tightly again, gritting my teeth.
‘Many beings started making strange choices like the World Tree.’
The demons were stepping back, whispering amongst themselves as if discussing a countermeasure.
“What’s with this tense atmosphere?”
That’s when it happened.
A loud thud, like a book being slammed shut, sounded in the air, and someone appeared, fluttering enormous wings and pulling along a dark red aura.
With huge, dark-red horns, very long brown hair, and eyes glowing a vivid red, the demon was peculiar for holding an ancient book in one hand.
“What?”
Another demon, but this one had a different charisma; I instantly recognized that he was a commander-level demon.
“Captain!”
The little-winged demons who had been aimlessly around immediately lined up behind the enormous wings.
“Who dares to scare my little lambs?”
The red-eyed demon glanced around and then fixed his gaze on me, blinking his eyes.
“Could it be you?”
Crossing his legs in the air, he began to exert an immense pressure, as if trying to crush my shoulders with a tremendous force.
“Ugh!”
This was not just a revenge for scaring his subordinates, nor was it merely because I was an angel and he was annoyed.
Those evil eyes told me he was interested in turning me into a plaything, like rolling a ball off a cliff just to see it tumble.
“Hey, stop it! We promised not to harass anyone, remember?”
Finally, Paradise intervened, and the demon reluctantly withdrew his force.
“Ah! I did promise, true~.”
With a chuckling sound, the demon gracefully landed on the ground, snapped his fingers with a ‘pop’ sound, and quickly appeared in front of me, offering his hand.
“What is it?”
Just moments before, he had been eager to turn me into a mess. The thought made my skin crawl.
“Let’s make peace, okay? Come on, let’s reconcile and end this?”
How revolting it was to see him try to flash a refreshing smile. I forcefully slapped away the hand of the devil, adorned with giant horns.
“Wow, is he always like this?”
“No. He’s just particularly sensitive today.”
As if my slight show of hostility could make the devil burst into fake tears, Paradise simply shrugged her shoulders with a plump face.
“Captain, this guy is really malicious!”
“As a demon of great wisdom, please scold him!”
“Hmm?”
Meanwhile, the brown-haired demon turned to look at me upon hearing the constant chatter of his subordinates.
“I thought angels were supposed to be virtuous beings? How rude of you to try to attack.”
The way he innocently tilted his head and asked scratched my nerves raw.
“You seem to have forgotten that you invaded our territory?”
Having resolved to remain composed, I raised my voice as my patience reached its limits.
“Do you think the World Tree would have stood idly by if we had invaded Paradise?”
Unfazed by my prickly demeanor, the demon with large wings shrugged and twisted his lips while glancing at Paradise.
“Just admit you overreacted because you have something you want to protect, kiddo.”
Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day
It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!
This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.
The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.
Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.
If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.
It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.
The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.
In the end, everything will come together and be explained.
One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!
In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.
Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.
However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.
Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.
Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?
——
Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.
His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.
Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”
——
The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.
Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!
Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!
The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…
——
But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.
The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.
She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…
Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”
Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”
Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.
Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”
Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.
Zhu Wansheng: ?
Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…
On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.
Warm breath lingers on her neck.
“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
