Only Bad for Me (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 7
Four days ago.
9 p.m.
Blackstone Partners Korea Branch.
The spacious office on the 8th floor felt empty.
The desk and chair used by the former CEO. A few books and decorations left behind.
The three men led into that abandoned room exchanged uneasy glances in tense silence.
The atmosphere was ripe for a fight to break out at any moment—just like at the police station, without warning or reason.
“Do you even know what this company does, hyung?”
The first to speak was Ki Jin Su—one of Lee Kwang Ja’s two sons, whose mother still lay in a VIP hospital suite.
“How the hell would I know, you idiot? It’s all written in English over there; don’t you understand it?”
The other son, Ki Chul Su, scolded his younger brother, then glanced sideways at the man leaning against the wall.
It was Cho Kwang Joong, the owner of Dae Po Cha—a thug known for his rough hands.
“Oh yeah? What’re you lookin’ at? Wanna throw down again?”
“Shut that damn mouth of yours before I smash it!”
Ki Jin Su clenched his fist and stepped toward Cho Kwang Joong, but his older brother Ki Chul Su quickly stepped between them.
“Just stay put! I’m about to drive myself crazy figuring out how much to demand!”
“…….”
They were identical to how they’d been at the police station—their clothes, their behavior, everything.
“How much are you even gonna ask for? By now, all that counterfeit crap is definitely exposed.”
Cho Kwang Joong snickered, picking his nose, prompting Ki Chul Su to glare fiercely and raise his voice.
“Why the hell are you even here? You should already be locked up behind bars, you piece of trash.”
“What? ‘Piece of trash’? Ha! You’ve got a real gentle way with words, old man! Why would I be in jail? What for? To keep you guys company?”
As Cho Kwang Joong jeered mockingly, Ki Jin Su this time grabbed his brother’s waist before he could lunge.
“Hyung, hold on. But… they definitely called us here to give us money, right? Who was it—the bespectacled lawyer?”
“If they weren’t planning to hand over cash, why else would they summon us out this late at night?”
Ki Chul Su huffed, his eyes narrowing menacingly.
“Yeah, those women must have some serious backing. But hey—those guys standing outside that door. The ones who brought us up here… Are they gangsters?”
Hah! As the saying goes—what’s in your eyes is all you see. Cho Kwang Joong muttered under his breath, and both brothers flared their nostrils in unison, barely containing their anger.
.
.
Same building, 12th floor.
Kwon Jae Ha and Secretary Kang stood in the newly arranged office.
“Change the blinds to something heavier in color, and absolutely no potted plants. They’re a hassle.”
“You’re not even the one taking care of them—why would they bother you?”
“Just the fact that they’re alive is annoying. If someone insists on sending them, tell them to deliver straight to my home instead.”
“Oh! So you’re planning to slowly, quietly kill them off by neglect—that’s what you mean, right?”
“You.”
As Jae Ha abruptly turned his body, Secretary Kang pointed toward the exit with an open palm.
“Let’s head down now.”
.
.
Ding—the elevator stopped at the 8th floor. Secretary Kang, following Jae Ha out, asked in a hushed tone,
“What exactly was the point of calling them up here like this?”
He leaned slightly closer to his superior, abandoning his own perfectly fine office below.
“Because I didn’t want to give up my own room. Isn’t that obvious?”
The way Jae Ha sharply arched an eyebrow made it clear he was serious. Classic Kwon Jae Ha.
“You’re not seriously planning to throw punches, are you? That’d be so disgraceful.”
“You still don’t get what real disgrace looks like. Just watch closely today.”
The dimly lit hallway—half the lights already off after everyone had left for the day—filled with a low, whistling tune.
It sounded like the whisper of a grim reaper calling the dead.
Trending
Seoul truly was dangerous every single day—like tiptoeing across thin ice, holding your breath.
Secretary Kang adjusted his glasses and spotted the bodyguards approaching into view.
“But… why did you even call those guys? You said it wouldn’t involve fists.”
“What am I supposed to do when rats run wild in my building?”
Won’t that just make them lose their way? Jae Ha tapped his temple lightly with his index finger.
The bodyguards, who had been bowing respectfully, opened the door, and the building owner strode forward without hesitation.
.
.
“Come closer and take a look.”
Three small slips of paper lay neatly aligned atop the massive wooden desk.
Even from a distance, it was obvious they were checks—but none of the three men dared approach the desk right away.
For one, the man seated there wasn’t the bespectacled lawyer.
Tall and lean, yet broad-shouldered and solidly built—a clear sign he trained regularly.
Not just his face, but even his clothes and shoes screamed that he lived in a completely different world.
And he’d just been quietly conversing in English with the man beside him in a low voice—already intimidating them from the get-go.
[Looks like these rats are quite shy.]Secretary Kang pretended to jot notes while casually remarking in English.
Tap. Tap. Tap. Jae Ha, who’d been drumming his long fingers on the desk, lifted his wrist to check the time.
“I won’t be spending more than ten minutes here.”
His voice was flat, monotonous, and icy.
Ki Chul Su, lips tightly pressed together as if he’d made up his mind, abruptly stepped forward toward the desk.
“One, ten, hundred, thousand, ten thousand… hundred million?”
At that exclamation, Ki Jin Su and Cho Kwang Joong rushed over instantly.
“It’s real! Are—are you really giving this to us?”
“Yes. But first, I need to accept your apologies.”
Kwon Jae Ha smiled faintly.
“Apologies? For what…?”
“Do you even know what an apology means?”
“Oh! Sorry! We apologize!”
“We’re sorry too!”
“You pathetic fools—apologizing so eagerly without even knowing why.”
Despite rushing over immediately, their groveling looks only deepened Jae Ha’s bitter smile.
“Mr. Cho Kwang Joong, that tiny hole-in-the-wall shop of yours—[Eddie, what’s it called again?]”
[It’s commonly called a PC bang.]“Ah yes, a PC bang. It’s been running at a loss unlike any I’ve ever seen.”
“What? You investigated me behind my back?”
“A grown man with a daughter—stooping so low as to commit such shameless acts.”
“I—I was drunk, okay….”
“Yes, alcohol.”
One of those long fingers picked up a check—and began tearing it cleanly down the middle.
Almost splitting it into two pieces.
“Nooo! Stop! I messed up! Please forgive me!”
Cho Kwang Joong bowed deeply, rubbing his palms together frantically, causing the two brothers to snicker in amusement.
Jae Ha, expressionless, sank deeper into his chair.
Screeeech—eeeeek—the unpleasant, grating sound of worn-out metal filled the spacious room.
“Kneel.”
His voice was low and calm—but unmistakably as cold and chilling as the screech of metal.
“…What?”
“Did you not hear me? Kneel. Down. Now.”
The moment Jae Ha checked his watch again,

Cho Kwang Joong’s knees slammed onto the floor with a heavy thud—so loud it sounded like bones might’ve shattered.
The brothers’ knees quickly followed, hitting the dusty floor in unison.
For precisely seven minutes afterward, Jae Ha whistled softly while rocking his chair back and forth, the hinges squeaking.
Not one of the kneeling men dared consider getting up. Only faint, shallow groans escaped occasionally.
★★★
Thanks to her hiccups, Eun Jo had filled her stomach with water—when the appetizer arrived.
In the center of an elegant plate sat a bite-sized dish: scallop ceviche.
Its tangy scent teased her nose, yet Eun Jo’s mouth felt parched—dry as a desert, not a drop of saliva in sight.
“Eat. You like seafood, don’t you?”
“…Yeah.”
Jae Ha picked up his fork first and brought a small piece to his mouth.
“It’s tender—and incredibly sweet.”
“…”
Eun Jo nodded, her face so pale it couldn’t possibly whiten further.
“Thank you. For giving me a chance to help.”
“Huh? No! I—I should be thanking you. But—but six thousand isn’t it—it’s six h-h-hundred million—hicc—”
Jae Ha pushed his water glass toward her, his face full of gentle warmth.
“It ended up costing a bit more than I expected.”
Eun Jo was too busy gulping down cold water to even nod.
“…”
“But since they’ve already silenced your mouth shut, this turned out fine, didn’t it?”
Was it really fine, though? Eun Jo couldn’t pull her sweaty palms away from the icy glass.
“Hmm, it’s melting gently.”
Tiny diced apples added a crisp crunch—enhancing not just the texture but the refreshing tartness. A subtle, rich nuttiness from pine nuts deepened the flavor.
But that wasn’t why her mouth began watering.
The soft, downy nape of her neck, exposed beneath her neatly tied-up hair.
Two delicate little mounds rising and falling with each surprised, quickened breath.
And those slender legs—surely crossed modestly beneath the table.
Just looking at her made him ravenous—like he’d need to sink his teeth in to be satisfied. Honestly, he was losing his mind.
How long that polite, practiced smile on his lips would last was anyone’s guess.
Jae Ha’s eyes slowly trailed down to Eun Jo’s pale hands—frozen around a tiny fork she hadn’t yet moved.
“…I’ll try to handle it as quickly as I can.”
“Handle what? Is there someone else who should be paying, and I’m just getting in the way?”
Jae Ha slowly wiped his lips with a napkin, his brow furrowing.
His thin patience vanished far too easily—especially when imagining another damn man in his place.
Eun Jo, frowning slightly, set her fork down—and the napkin in Jae Ha’s hand crumpled.
“Come on—someone with that pretty face should have men lining up to hand over six hundred million.”
Eun Jo stared at Jae Ha wordlessly.
Even when they’d lived together as kids, he’d often acted like this.
He’d be kind one moment, then instantly turn stubborn and difficult the next if something rubbed him the wrong way.
She’d once found it cute—endearing, even—like a big, affection-starved child.
But now, it just made her irritated.
Six hundred million? How could he just show up out of nowhere and—
Ah… A faint suspicion flickered in Eun Jo’s eyes. Several fragmented scenes swirled chaotically in her mind—
But right now, she had no energy to piece them together.
“…Just give me some time. There’s got to be a way.”
“There isn’t.”
“…”
“You—there’s no way.”
“But you don’t actually want there to be, do you?”
ads
“Probably.”
Jae Ha stood abruptly, answering absentmindedly as he fastened his jacket buttons.
“Let’s go. I’ve lost my appetite.”
He never really had one to begin with. Eun Jo immediately rose from her seat.
“I’ll get home on my own. Anyway, thanks for the meal, and I’ll figure something out soon—”
Jae Ha had already started walking briskly ahead, clearly not listening to a word she said.
He stopped outside the restaurant at the elevator, then suddenly turned back.
“There is a way to pay it all off at once.”
“…?”
Before she could even process the surprise, hot breath brushed against her ear.
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
