“You said those who are useful to this mansion could stay, didn’t you?”

She was quick to understand.

Her immediate response to his question indicated she had deduced his intention for her to leave the mansion.

“Don’t you remember? Thanks to me, you slept well last night.”

Klaud swiftly scanned her weary face. The ludicrous assumption felt like it was turning into reality, sending a shiver down his spine. The ‘fierce consummation’ rumors spread by the maids and Lancelot jumbled his thoughts even more.

Nothing came to mind, making the imagination even more horrifying.

“…Stop your tricks. I wouldn’t have done that.”

“Shall I help you remember?”

As he shook his head in denial and countered, she immediately replied. Her face looked genuinely aggrieved, her large, dark eyes brimming with a sense of injustice.

For a moment, he felt like the worst person in the world.

The Feliece mansion, without Yooan Feliece, appeared no different on the surface. Compared to the frugal life of the previous Earl and Countess, it was now adorned with glittering, beautiful decorations and had more servants than the size of the mansion warranted, always keeping it pristine.

But the reality was different.

“Why else would I come all the way here? My father now refuses any treatment or medicine unless it’s from Feliece. What can I do? You claimed to be ill, but look at the Earl’s face now! Are you really sick with such good color?”

“Exactly. Since yesterday, the medicine you used to send weekly stopped abruptly. What’s the plan? The servants we sent were all chased away. I had to come here myself. Earl, do you know how much gold our family has poured into Feliece?”

“Our invested gold? While my son was having eight stitches for a facial wound from a serious fall, the Earl locked up the mansion. What were you doing? If you’ve received that much gold, you should at least deliver your end of the deal.”
“Indeed. Since yesterday, the medicine you used to send every week has suddenly stopped. What are you trying to do? All the servants we sent were chased away. I had to come here myself, driving the carriage. Earl, do you know how much gold our family has poured into Feliece?”

“Our invested gold? When my son suffered a serious fall and had eight stitches on his face, the Earl locked himself in the mansion. What were you doing? If you received so much gold, you should at least deliver what we paid for.”

The Earl of Feliece watched as nobles, who had been pleading for appointments even for a brief lock-up of his door, turned on him. Their greed had classified guests based on the amount of gold invested, leading the nobles who paid more to rush to this remote Feliece mansion at the slightest inconvenience.

“Let’s calm down. Haven’t I overworked myself all this time? With only one body, the academy demands me for academic festivals and such, while the royal family insists on continuous development of affordable treatment for the people. I might need ten bodies to cope. How could I not fall ill? I don’t even have time to eat these days.”

Although it wasn’t something a plump person should say, the Earl lamented with a pitiful look as the breaths of the angry crowd began to subside.

“Making medicine is no ordinary task. Can we use the same ingredients for commoners as we do for us? The medicinal herbs that come from across mountains and rivers must be handled with utmost care, lest they get damaged. Do you know how much it costs to transport them, even if you pour in gold?”

“Uh-huh, but still…”

“We can’t get precious herbs from the north due to fearsome monsters. The west is just a desert, so only the east and south are viable, but the tolls are no joke. Checkpoints are always strict. And how can we advertise that we bring these precious herbs to the capital for only special people? If rumors spread that Feliece provides special prescriptions for special people, will the royal family stay quiet? Will rich commoners? I have many worries, too.”

“But suddenly cutting us off like this is hard for us, too. We’re not blaming the Earl, that’s not what we’re saying.”

The Earl of Feliece, with a face that screamed injustice, smoothly talked his way through the complaints of the people who had barged in.

After spending the whole morning like that, he was completely drained and had no choice but to lie down, feeling maddened by the gold he just missed out on.

Had it not been for the uninvited guest, he would have stayed in bed. A week after Yooan cut off contact, the Earl slowly began to feel anxious and listless.

He tried making urgent medicines in the lab alone, but it was always in vain. Even if he followed the prescriptions to the letter, the subtle difference that Yooan added made the quality entirely different.

‘If only I had remembered a bit of it.’

He had thought he could hold onto his niece for a few more years, using Louise’s treatment as an excuse.

And he never expected that she would seize such an opportunity and cut off contact without looking back.

Feeling bitter and wronged, he lay with his head wrapped, pondering.

‘How could this happen to me.’

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
