“Whew, confirm kill!”
“Get out!”
After sending the bewildered butler away, Klaud collapsed into a chair. His outstretched hands barely supported his golden head, overwhelmed by the sudden news.
“This is nonsense.”
“Why are you denying it? Everything else fits. What’s there to be ashamed of? This is the natural course for a married couple.”
The chattering voices of maids outside the window only added to his discomfort, stabbing at his troubled heart with their atrocious rumors.
The lady’s pained voice was heard all the way to the first floor. Conversely, not a sound from the master. It’s been so long since the master slept in like this. The lady’s face was pale. How vigorous must the night have been…
Edy Rev, who had been silently observing Klaud’s reactions, finally spoke.
“You were hasty, Klaud Upris. This is problematic without consulting us. We left you to your own devices, and now you’ve even confirmed the consummation with the royal family. You can’t imagine how shocked we were to hear the news at dawn.”
“Edy, Klaud is a man too.”
Lancelot began defending Klaud in his own way.
“What’s it matter if he changed eight brides? He was still a virgin. Besides, after consummation, the bride didn’t flee, right? Isn’t this a match made in heaven?”
“A flower garden in your head is enough, Lancelot.”
Edy’s rebuke only prompted Lancelot to continue.
“Your renowned night skills must have been a fluke. It’s impossible for my cousin and friend, Klaud, to be a block of wood in bed.”
With each explicit comment from Lancelot, Klaud’s face turned more ashen.
The oddly buoyant atmosphere of the mansion.
The maids’ chatter and the shy voice of that woman in between.
Walking around so nonchalantly after witnessing his worsening condition at night, it could only mean one thing: the consummation they speak of must have happened.
There must be something she’s confident about, laughing and talking so freely…
“But seriously, look at your face, it’s improved. Take a look. Edy, you too.”
Lancelot, holding a hand mirror for some reason, came over and held it up to Klaud.
As Lancelot said, his ghastly half-face remained, but the other side strangely looked more alive.
“Surprised, right? The shadow of fatigue under your eyes has lessened by half. I told you, you were just more tired without a woman.”
“Get out.”
“Me? Not Edy, but me?”
Lancelot pointed to himself with a whooping sound, perplexed.
That disgusting expression drove Klaud even crazier.
“I’m right, aren’t I? Now that you’ve found your perfect match, your face looks much better. Meeting the right person can have such an effect. Rare, but it happens. Look, no more nightmares. You didn’t have any nightmares, right? Indeed, humans need to be physically active, day and night…”
“That’s ridiculous.”
“The power of love is truly great—”
“Love?”
Klaud laughed incredulously, his lips curling up.
Lancelot stepped back, realizing his mistake.
Klaud’s eyes suddenly became unfathomably distant, filled with regret.
“I don’t love anyone. You know that.”
Watching Lancelot’s lonely exit, Klaud glared as if at his ninth bride. Edy sighed deeply and closed the bedroom door.
Evening arrived quickly.
With his mind in turmoil, Klaud decided he needed to confront the person involved directly instead of being swept up in absurd rumors. He had just heard from the butler that the unwelcome guest had started wandering around the mansion more boldly from today.
The cessation of snow made Klaud predict that Yooan might be in the garden, just like the last time, and his guess was spot on. Leaning against a window, Klaud impatiently awaited the uninvited guest. When Yooan, without any maids following, appeared in the garden, he roughly swung the window open.
Yooan, in the bitter winter cold, was clad only in a thin shawl, blankly staring at the garden plants. It was midwinter with not a single flower in bloom and the place was poorly maintained. But Klaud’s mind was preoccupied with more pressing matters.
“Hey.”
His start was exceedingly rude.
But since he had initially spared her at the door, only for her to have the consummation confirmed without his consent, Klaud felt no obligation to observe any formality with her.
As his headache began to intensify, he knew he needed to end this quickly. At his call, her petite body hesitantly turned toward him, her face filled with sheer terror.
Yet, Klaud was now certain that her frightened expression wasn’t due to his grotesque half-face. Having seen him twice and still wandering around unbothered, it had to be one of two things: either she was blind, or she had an exceptionally strong stomach.
“Do you have something to tell me?”
He decided to give her one last opportunity to confess and leave voluntarily.
However, except for a momentary flinch, she stood motionless, staring directly at him as if determined to say something despite her fear, oblivious to her cheeks trembling.
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
