“Deputy Director. It seems that Baek Young has contacted Myeonghan Construction.”

At Director Jung’s report, Chae Ha set down the fountain pen he’d been holding and propped his chin up with his hand.

It wasn’t entirely unexpected, so he wasn’t particularly surprised—but it truly was impeccably timed.

It had happened right after Baek Sa Ra met with Seol Won.

“So they’ve finally made their move. Myeonghan’s been eyeing the land Baek Young owns for a while now.”

“It looks like Baek Young’s side is about to hand over the resort site to them. What should we do?”

Director Jung watched Chae Ha’s expression anxiously, his face heavy with worry.

This project was one of Chae Woon’s attempts to expand into the leisure sector, though it hadn’t officially launched the resort business yet.

More importantly, however, this new resort development was the first major project Chae Ha had taken on since becoming deputy director—and thus held symbolic significance.

It was, in essence, a test to determine whether he—as Chae Woon’s heir—could truly deliver.

So it was no wonder Director Jung, who supported him most closely, was deeply concerned.

“It doesn’t matter. Let’s get the second candidate site approved through the board meeting this time.”

“Yes, Deputy Director. I’ll prepare accordingly.”

With hurried steps, Director Jung quickly left the deputy director’s office.

After watching his retreating figure for a moment, Chae Ha opened a file.
