Oh No, I Possessed a Male Character! (13 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 12
The only weapon I’d ever handled as a modern person was a bow I’d shot a few times at an archery café—back when it was briefly trendy.
But faced with countless wide-eyed stares fixed on me, I simply couldn’t admit I’d never handled a real weapon before.
Reluctantly, I pointed to a bow.
“I know… just a little bit about using a bow.”
“Oh?”
Klaus strode over and personally took a bow down from the wall. Oh no.
“Go ahead and aim.”
It wasn’t a modern recurve bow, so everything felt utterly unfamiliar. Still, I somehow managed to imitate what I’d seen, placing my fingers on the string and pointing the arrowhead toward the target.
“Hmm.”
Surprisingly, it felt quite good. My arm didn’t tremble at all, and the bow’s tension was easier to handle than expected. Could this be Muzel’s physical prowess? I thought she was purely a brainy character—turns out she’s actually built for strength?
Anyway, I carefully aimed at the target.
“……!”
And released.
“Oh!”
“Wow, you’re really good!”
Murmurs of admiration rose from all around.
I was utterly bewildered. Was that… actually decent?
“Huh. That’s quite skilled, considering your earlier modesty.”
Even Klaus looked at me with a faint smile.
Still dazed, I walked up to the target. To my disbelief, the arrow was dead center.
“Heh…”
I let out an involuntary, awkward chuckle.
Guess my spirit really is descended from Jumong. That must be why meeting the hidden powerhouse Muzel unlocked this latent ability!
I gave an embarrassed smile and turned to the onlookers.
“It hit better than I expected. Just got lucky, I suppose.”
Then Lutz spoke up excitedly.
“If you hit it twice, that’s not luck—it’s skill, Lord Muzel!”
“Huh?”
What? You want me to shoot again? That’s definitely what he’s implying.
Sure enough, Klaus nodded.
“Alright, shoot once more.”
Ugh, I seriously wanted to cry.
With no choice, I pulled the arrow from the target and walked back to my original spot. Taking a deep breath like before, I drew the bowstring again.
The arrow flew with a twang.
“Oh!”
“See? Told you!”
Another bullseye. At this point, even I was baffled.
Just then, Klaus stepped closer and lightly placed a hand on my shoulder.
“Eep!”
I flinched violently. He actually touched me!
“Oh? Did I startle you?”
He seemed surprised—I guess he hadn’t expected such a reaction.
But inside, I was already panicking. There’s no way he figured out my gender from just that brief touch… right? He absolutely can’t have!
I bowed my head, trying to appear calm.
“Ah, my apologies. I was just a little startled.”
Before the atmosphere grew awkward, I quickly added an excuse.
“To be honest, I’m rather sensitive to physical contact. I didn’t mean to be rude to Your Highness.”
“Oh, it’s fine. Really, it’s nothing at all.”
Klaus replied calmly, then turned to his guard.
“We’re leaving. Stay fifty paces behind.”

“Yes, Your Highness.”
The knight—who’d been sparring with Klaus just moments earlier—immediately gave a light nod.
I followed Klaus out of the training grounds. Glancing back, I saw Lutz waving.
“Ahaha…”
Since ignoring him felt rude after he’d waved right at me, I waved back.
Klaus had the guard fall far behind, then beckoned me closer and apologized again.
“I’m sorry about earlier. I didn’t know you were sensitive to touch.”
“Please, don’t mention it. I’m the one who should apologize—for startling Your Highness so abruptly.”
I offered another apology.
Honestly, I was still uneasy—but I didn’t have the courage to complain about the world’s strongest man casually touching me.
“By the way, your archery surpassed my expectations. Why didn’t you mention you were good with a bow?”
“To be honest, I didn’t know I’d hit the mark so well.”
I answered truthfully.
Because it really was true. In the original novel, Muzel never used martial arts; she was portrayed purely as an intellectual throughout.
Meanwhile, Klaus was described as gifted in both intelligence and physical ability.
Of course, since I’m the one possessing Muzel now, I’m not as sharp as in the novel. Maybe that’s why I suddenly gained this archery talent—to compensate for my weaker intellect?
Kind of bittersweet, really.
While I was lost in thought, Klaus’s calm voice cut through the night air.
“Being able to handle any weapon is extremely useful in a crisis—and reassuring, psychologically too.”
“Yes.”
“Judging by today’s performance, you must’ve hit well before. Really had no idea?”
“Yes. I truly didn’t.”
“Huh. That’s surprising.”
Klaus tilted his head, so I just said whatever came to mind.
“To be honest, I never had enough time to sit still at a desk. That mattered more to me.”
“True enough—your paper on legal reforms was excellent. That’s actually why I decided to appoint you as my aide.”
Oh—new information. Now I knew why Muzel became the Crown Prince’s aide.
The novel never mentioned this detail; it only said Klaus noticed her “outstanding abilities.”
Until now, I’d had no idea what specifically caught his attention.
No wonder I’d seen academic papers on the bookshelf in my room. Now it all made sense.
I offered a light thanks.
“Thanks to Your Highness, I discovered a humble skill I never knew I had.”
Klaus gave a sly little smile.
“If you leave that newly found talent unused, it’ll rot away fast. From now on, come to the training grounds regularly to practice archery.”
“Huh? Ah… yes.”
I’ve fallen straight into a trap. That male lead really wants to force me into exercising.
Soon enough, we arrived at the Crown Prince’s quarters. I watched as Klaus entered his bedroom with his guard.
“Sleep well, Your Highness.”
“Yeah. See you tomorrow.”
He gave a casual wave and disappeared inside.
Only then did I let out a long sigh.
“Phew.”
Thank goodness he didn’t pry into why I’m so sensitive to physical contact.
He must’ve been curious, yet he showed remarkable restraint—not everyone would hold back like that, especially someone of royal blood with no need to be polite.
Truthfully, I was deeply grateful to him.
[This is the timeline separator]Whoever said people in the palace keep quiet clearly never met these gossips. By dawn, news of last night’s training ground incident had already spread like wildfire through the palace.
“Lord Muzel! If your archery is that good, why didn’t you say anything until now?”
“Oh, well…”
“Lady Muzel! Now you’ll assist His Highness with both intellect and martial skill!”

“No, it’s not that impressive…”
Even on ordinary days people loved striking up conversations with me—but today was the worst. On my way from my quarters to Klaus’s office, how many times did I have to stop?
And then there was Gretchen, whom I ran into at least once a day.
“You truly are the perfect match for His Highness—excelled in both wisdom and martial arts, Lord Muzel!”
“Gretchen, please stop saying such nonsense.”
I finally pinched the bridge of my nose.
“You made weird comments like that before too—something about forbidden love.”
“Ah, don’t worry about the secret fantasies of a passing extra!”
“?”
As always, Gretchen left me with nothing but confusion before fluttering off.
“What the…”
Sweating from all the attention, I barely made it to the second floor—only to run into someone else.
“Oh! Lord Muzel!”
“L-Lutz?”
Flustered, I accidentally dropped the honorific “Lord.” Lutz didn’t seem to notice and greeted me cheerfully.
“Today I’m assigned to guard His Highness’s office. It’ll be our first time working together.”
“Oh, I… I see.”
Lutz scratched his head like a boy, oddly at odds with his sturdy build.
“Truthfully, I’ve wanted to talk with you for a while, and now the chance has come. You might not know this, Lord Muzel, but many people—including myself—wish to become closer to you.”
“Y-yes, I see.”
“Not that I mean to chat while on duty! Our top priority is serving His Highness, of course. I just meant… maybe we could talk when we have a moment?”
“Right, of course.”
“I knew Lord Muzel wouldn’t misunderstand my intentions! Let’s get along well from now on.”
“Ah… sure.”
Please, save me. I can’t handle overly enthusiastic people.
Just then, footsteps echoed from down the hall. We turned toward the sound.
“……!”
Goodness! I’d never been so glad to see Klaus in my life. He showed up at the perfect moment—I felt like bowing in gratitude.
Lutz and I quickly bowed in greeting.
“We greet Your Highness.”
“Hmm.”
Klaus gave a slight nod and headed into his office, and I followed him inside.
Once Klaus disappeared, Lutz immediately straightened up—clearly switching into guard mode.
Just before I closed the office door, our eyes briefly met.
“…….”
The stern knight’s face instantly transformed into that of a bright-eyed boy.
The shift was so dramatic, it left a deep impression.
“…….”
I gave Lutz a brief, silent bow.
And so, another day began.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.

“If he had never learned that Muzel was a woman, he might have mistaken it for deep friendship”
I had this thought, and this semi confirmed it for me: Klaus seems to like Muzel no matter the gender. He maybe bi, but it maybe only for Muzel. Like Shang from Disney’s Mulan
